CHAPTER 12: TEA BANQUET

Days quickly passed and the tension in Gardenia mansion made even servants be scared of meeting any of their masters. Elektra and Kasper were barely talking and Elektra was in a celebratory mood every day.

She got to torment her listeners daily with her new story, studied at school but the happiest thing was that she was finding some clues towards some hidden treasure.

She had this inkling that as long as she was persistent, she was going to come across it soon. Elektra heard about the tea banquet being hosted by Madam Murray, who happened to be Kasper’s mother.

The woman had invited a lot of single and young ladies, it was a matchmaking banquet in disguise and the candidates were Kasper and his twenty-seven years old single younger brother Bryce who was a well-known god of e-sports even though now he was playing anymore but owning a club of his own.

Elektra sneered after hearing that, no wonder why the man was acting mysterious, he was going to be basking in the garden full of flowers. How can he remember this faceless girl he had taken fancy to?

Just thinking about it made her a little angry though, she felt like going on a trip and being far away from this place for once. Elektra’s life was full of complications and she didn’t want to add more to it.

She also didn’t want to lose this free energy booster of hers, it had taken her a lot of acting skills to act as if she didn’t want to go with him. Someone like her wouldn’t be caged by anyone as long as she didn’t allow it.

And she was not yet done with getting what she wanted from Kasper and she was not going to allow any girl whether a childhood sweetheart or a girl loved by the family to take this away from her.

Elektra who was in the study at the moment griped at the smoking pipe she had not used for months and it began to decay at a very speedy rate. It didn’t even take a full minute before the pipe was gone.

Elektra’s hand was emitting a dangerous black smoke that could eat anything it touches; too bad Kasper wasn’t there to witness what a dangerous little girl he abducted.

***

Finally, the day of the tea banquet arrived and the Murray ancestral house was flooded with a lot of women. The mothers brought their children to the banquet to make the place very lively.

[I wonder who will be the lucky girl?]

[As long as I get to see any of the brothers, then I will be satisfied. I don’t have any greedy thoughts about the brothers at all.]

The girls were busy whispering to each other as they drink some tea that had been served. For the sake of their future, they didn’t mind having a cup or two of tea.

Luckily it wasn’t just tea alone but there was also some wine and champagne if one didn’t want to have some tea.

Among the families’ present were the Leonards' and Jill, the girl who grew up playing with Kasper and his other friends was present and there was no smile on her face.

She felt as if this whole banquet was a joke and that Aaliyah Murray was stepping on her. Didn’t that woman know that she Jill had been in love with Kasper for a very long time and had been carrying a torch for him?

When that child appeared on Kasper’s door, it was a slap to her face. She was so angry to know that there was someone who had the guts to carry Kasper’s child, that woman was lucky that she wasn’t found otherwise Jill was going to teach that woman a lesson.

Clarissa Leonard, Jill’s younger sister tapped Jill’s shoulder seeing how serious Jill was being when surrounded by other ladies, “big sis, you need to calm down.”

Jill looked at this young and beautiful sister of hers and flashed a faint smile at her, “take a walk with me.”

Clarissa smiled back at her older sister and began to follow Jill. As someone who had seen Jill being in love with Kasper for years, she understood how to hurt her sister was feeling right now.

Once upon a time, Clarissa also fell for Kasper’s charm after seeing how her sister was obsessed with Kasper, she began to look deeper into him and her findings were astounding.

She was charmed by the man for at least three years, if it wasn’t for her beloved husband who charmed his way into her heart, she would still be entranced by Kasper now.

Clarissa’s mind was very clear and she could tell that Kasper was not interested in her bigger sister but Jill was a dominating woman who rarely listens to anyone. If she didn’t get burnt, Jill was never going to surrender.

How did she wish her elder sister could see that guy who was always by her side and be with him?

Now seeing this tea banquet in this winter season, she wondered what dramas would be seen after this.

Aaliyah was very happy as she talked to the other madams, it was mostly the other madams praising their children in front of her and Aaliyah took this time to scrutinize the families.

She gave others a tick and most of them some x. Aaliyah was happy with Jill who has been head over heels for her son ever since they were young. Kasper wasn’t cold to Jill so Aaliyah had some slight confidence that Kasper might like Jill and settle down with her.

If there was one thing, she could say she didn’t like about Jill was her possessiveness. She was that kind of girl who would do crazy things to get her man and Aaliyah didn’t want her son to be with this kind of woman.

Alice was perfect and as someone she had raised for a couple of years, she knew Alice well and wouldn’t mind having her as a daughter-in-law. It was just too bad that Kasper had no interest in Alice.

She could tell that his tolerance for Alice was because she was the one who raised her otherwise Kasper wouldn’t give Alice a second look.
