Chapter 5: Meeting

As the pairs of footstep encroach on their area he looked towards to Subaru who continues to rant about the cute girl that summoned him and where she was.

Kei didn't care. Plus it wasn't the right time to tell him to be careful what he wished for. But not right now he needed to think of his next action.

'Should I let Subaru get beat up? or should I beat the goons bloody?' He thought for a second but looked at Subaru who was still rambling about nonsense and without a second thought he left Subaru to be assaulted.

"*Sigh* Did the cute girl who summoned me just left me alone here after summoning me?" Subaru continues his rant seemingly depress right now unaware what was about to happen to him.

Hanging his head low. He begins to think about why he was summon and the reason why the cute girl summoner didn't show up.

As he was feeling down he heard some footsteps coming his way. Some hope returned to his face as he looked to see the 'Cute girl.'

"Has she finally come the cute girl… who… summoned me." Trailing his words off, as the 'Cute girl' he had hoped to meet was replaced by 2 rough looking men and midget.

"What the hell are you babbling about?" The shroom hair midget said.

One of the thugs a lengthy man with sky blue and pink hair suddenly grab subaru by his shirt. Demanding for Subaru cough up everything he's got.

'Crap it's a compulsory event…' Subaru thought knowing that these types of events start up a sort of chance meeting. But he still didn't want to be robbed. He still doesn't even know his power yet.

Subaru looked behind him to get some help from Kei, unfortunately the only thing there in his spot was the bag of appas and his convenience store bag.

'Did that guy ditch me!?'

Subaru slowly turned back his attention to the thugs who were sinisterly grinning, he was starting to get worried.

"Out of my way!" a sudden yell was heard. He along with the three thugs looked towards where the yell came from.

A girl with blond hair was running towards that at full speed. Subaru sees the girls eyes which held a lot of will, which entails to him that the girl must have a sense of justice and soon hope returns.

'Maybe she's…'

"The cute girl who summoned me as finally arrived!" shouted happy that he's saved.

The blond haired girl stopped for a moment and paused greatly confused at what Subaru said.

"Summoned? I dunno what your talkin' about. But I'm busy!" The girl said then immediately booked it jumping up to the roof of the building and ditching him.

There was a momentary paused as Subaru and the three thugs stared to where the blond girl jumped to.

"Um… did that event perhaps make you guys less hostile?" Subaru weakly asked. One of thugs the supposed muscle of the 3 just cracked his knuckles in response.

"Nope."

Now Subaru was feeling more worried. But then remembered that he was isekaied to this world, and every isekai protagonist has some special power.

'I might not yet have unlocked my magic. But that doesn't I might not have some sort of physical enhancement!'

With that thought Subaru body seemingly felt lighter as he looked at the 3 like some exp.

With new found confidence he instigate the first attack, aiming at the muscle first knocking him back then delivering a kick to the midget knocking him to the wall.

Subaru was feeling excitement and confidence as revels at his suppose enhancement and abilities.

He then sets his attention to the last one, with adrenaline in him he ran towards him ready to deliver an attack.

Seeing this the thug smirked and pulled out his knives. Upon seeing the sharp knives all confidence left Subaru at the prospect of getting stabbed.

Subaru immediately performed a dogeza and started to apologize pathetically. "I'm sorry! It was all my fault! Forgive me! Spare me!"

He hoped with this apology will prevent him from being stabbed. It worked… and was replaced by a kick to the face.

Few seconds later he was getting his ass kicked repeatedly by the 3 thugs as he held his head and huddled.

(Meanwhile with Kei a few minutes before Subaru is getting his ass kicked)

After noticing the footsteps heading their direction, he promptly ditched Subaru and climbed up to the roof of a building without Subaru's notice.

How he did it exactly? Experience, practice and a boost.

After leaving Subaru to his fate, he sat at the top, he goes into his coat and pulled out his weapons to check and see if everything is there as he remembered.

Placing them down aligned with each other he begins to check.

Picking up his sword he unsheathes it to reveal the white blade. Seeing that the blade is in optimal conditions. He moves on to blush. Removing the magazine of he checks to see how many rounds he had.

"10 rounds." Checking the other magazines he had, which were 4 equivalent to 50 rounds.

Sheathing back the blade and putting back the magazines and hiding the rest back in his coat. He then looks to his spare gun. His most proud customized creation.

A black colored customized combat pistol. With the words "Jesus Christ in Heaven now."

The Jackal.

His favorite gun which took him a LONG time to make. An almost perfect replica of the Jackal. Unfortunately he had to do some altercations to be usable making it less powerful with the lessen weight and the change of ammo.

But on the bright side although with the change of ammo and fire power, it is still powerful and also with more rounds with 10 shots instead of 6. He also had 4 more magazines.

There was also with his knife. But that was pretty much just a spare hidden weapon.

With a somewhat satisfied smile he hid everything back into his coat.

"Out of my way!" A loud voice was then heard.

'So she's finally here.'

He looked down towards Subaru and the thugs to see the Felt who stopped for a moment infront of the thugs and Subaru who continues to spout nonsense.

He examines Felt, even from up in the top he could see and sense a strong will from her, which he finds quite interesting to the point that a small and fond smile graced his face.

'Hey, Catch up will ya!'

A sudden memory resurfaced in his mind as he looked at the little thief. Shaking his head to get rid of the thought he once again focused on the events below.

After a short interaction with Subaru, Felt dashed up to the building with speed.

As she jumped high she noticed him looking straight at her. Her eyes widen so did his but it was just a little.

Seeming to believe that she was caught she increased her speed further got out of there.

Kei just sighed and looked down again to see Subaru getting hyped. He decided to ignore the rest of the events and focus on a different matter.

His [Divine Protection]. With the sudden rush of information he gains some knowledge of its properties. What he means by that is that the knowledge he holds and the power he has, felt incomplete.

For now the things he knows about it is that he gains some enhancement to his physical capabilities, besides that, nothing else really. He still felt there were still somethings missing.

He just sighed again and waited for Subaru's target of his one-sided romance.

"That's enough."

'So she's finally here.'

A beautiful silver haired girl appeared. At first she seems to ignore them and leave them to there business but immediately change her mind and shot out blocks of ice at the thugs saving Subaru.

The thugs tried to fight back… that was until a small cat like creature appeared on the girls hand which scared off the thugs.

As Kei looked at this event he could clearly see Subaru's blush as he saw the beautiful silver haired girl.

The girl then immediately interrogated Subaru. Which after a few minutes finally passed out from the beating. The girl had a worried expression on her face as she tries to decide what should do.

He just sighed again and jump off the building and revealed himself.

The girl was surprised then raised her hand seemingly preparing to attack him if he tried anything.

Kei saw this and didn't acknowledged it as much of a threat. Instead he got a good look at the silver hair.

'She really is beautiful. Much more than the anime illustrated.'

Seeming to sense his thoughts a small frown appeared on Pucks face as he as well seemed to prepare to attack me.

Seeing this he professionally calmed the situation using the most effective method he knows.

"Hello I am a suspicious individual you have never seen before and might be a danger to you beautiful lady."

The two seemed to pause taken aback by his weird introduction.

'Works every time.'
