Chapter 6: Beginning of the search.

A moment of silence permeated as the Silver haired and the cat dumbfoundly stare at Kei for his introduction.

Kei continue to stare at the two then looked at the unconscious body of Subaru. Suddenly having a mischievous idea he decided to play a little trick.

"So… did you do this?" he asked pointing to the bruised up and unconscious Subaru.

"Huh!?"

Emilia was shocked taken a back by the accusation as Puck had a frown on his face. Mentally he grinned but kept a somewhat shocked expression as well as masking his emotions carefully.

"No! I didn't do this!" She denied while waving her hands like crazy. Puck had an unamused face as he looked at him

He looked towards the blocks of ice on the ground as he gave a suspicious look towards her as put his hands on the hilt of his blade seemingly ready to defend himself.

Emilia's frantic denying and hand shaking increased in pace.

"I didn't do this! There were some thugs beating him and I stopped them!" She explained herself. As Puck seemed to be ready to launch an attack.

"I know."

"Huh?"

Emilia repeatedly blinked with a dumbfounded expression as well as Puck. While he just grin.

"I watched everything." He explained to the dumbfounded Emilia and Puck whom had widened eyes.

"Wait you watched everything?" Emilia questioned.

"Yep."

"If so." Puck looked at him with suspicion. "Why didn't you help him then?"

"He seemed confident so I let him get his aa kicked." He shrugged. He then looked towards the unconscious Subaru.

"So… can you heal him up or something?"

"Why should I? Couldn't you just get him to a doctor instead." She asked.

"Because I don't know where I can find a doctor cause this is my first time here, also, even if I did I would just leave the guy." He explained.

"Heh!? Why would you just leave him here?" She asked surprise at him for his reason.

He just shrugged his shoulders. "Because it is not my problem."

It really isn't but still, still doesn't know why he is here or how he got here or if he is connected to Subaru in someway. But he doesn't care much. Reason being that he knows Emilia will help regardless and that he will be just fine (Until the auction house).

And besides he wasn't really gonna leave him behind. He'll just dump cold water on him and give him a few slaps for him to wake up.

Emilia had a complicated expression on her face as Pucks' frown deepens.

After a while Emilia sighed.

"Okay I will heal him." Emilia said before putting up a finger. "On one condition."

"Sure."

"You said you watched the event correct? In return I want yo-"

"You want me to tell you where the thief who stole your stuff went correct?" Kei guessed as he cut her off.

She blinked a few times before nodding her head surprised at his correct guess.

"Sure, but let me just say I don't know exactly where she went. But I do have some speculation on where she is at though. Will that be enough?" He said. Of course not forgetting to mask his emotions from the small floating cat.

Emilia looked at Puck who narrowed his at Suspiciously before sighing.

"He doesn't seem to be lying Lia."

Emilia nodded. "Even if it is just a speculation, I appreciate it."

He just smiled as she went over to Subaru and begins to heal him as Puck kept an eye on Kei who just leaned over to the wall to wait.

Soon Emilia finished healing Subarus' injuries as now all that was left to wait for him to wake up.

"Mmm… why don't you two give something soft to lay his head on. So he can wake up faster." Kei suggested.

Emilia seemed to maul it over for a bit before sighing and prepared to let him rest on her lap. That was until Pucked stopped her.

"Wait a moment Lia, you shouldn't just do that for some stranger!"

"Mmm? Why not?" Emilia asked.

"Well…" Puck tried to come up with an answer before looking at Kei. An imaginary light bulb seemed to appear on the top his head.

"Because that guy might do something when you can't move."

Kei just looked at Puck with a blank look. As Emilia turned her attention to him looking a bit wary.

"He is right, I might pounce on you when your vulnerable." He deadpanned.

Emilia became more wary as Puck narrowed his eyes.

He just sighed.

"Since your… cat doesn't want you to do it. Why not him then?"

Emilia and Puck seemed to think about it for a bit.

"That's a great idea." Puck said as light enveloped him soon vanishing revealing that he grew bigger.

Sitting down in his big form he placed Subarus' head on his lap.

"pff..." Kei tried not to laugh at the scene as he pulled out his phone and took some pictures.

Both of them just look at him weirdly and looked at the device he was holding with curiosity.

"Um… what was that?" Emilia asked.

"Oh, it was nothing. Just some black screen mirror." He explained then pocketing it after taking a few shots.

Now all that is left is to wait.

Subarus' eyes slowly opened. The first thing he noticed was that his head was laying on something. He guessed that it was someone's lap.

"Your awake?" A familiar voice asked. Realizing who it was, A blush appeared on his face.

"I didn't know cute girls were this hairy… Wait that can't be right!" He yelled out as he looked to see who's lap he was sleeping on and saw the face of a giant cat.

"Equaaaku!" he yelled out as he jumped away from the said big cat as he plants himself against the wall.

"This was a thoughtful arrangement we made so you could at least feel happy." Puck said with high pitch voice trying to mimic that of a girls, which made Subaru's skin crawl.

"First of all don't talk in that kind of voice. No sane gug would confuse a cat of being the main heroine!"

"Aw, seeing happy was worth to see you so happy."

"I am not happy!" He yelled as his move to the side of the cat to see the silver haired girl looking at him.

"I'm sorry about this. You stayed with me the whole time I was unconscious…" Subaru apologies to which Emilia corrected him.

"Don't get the wrong idea I only did so because your friend there asked me to." She pointed behind him to which he looked back and saw Kei standing there with a smirk on his face.

Seeing that smirk irked Subaru, unfortunately that feeling was amplified upon remembering what Kei did or did lack there of.

"You!"

"Yes me?" Kei answered without the smirk leaving his face. Which further angered him.

"You ditch me you jerk!" He bellowed in rage at Kei who in turn frowned.

"Ditch you? I did no such thing."

"What do you mean you did no such thing! You left me to defend myself against those thugs!"

"Yes I did." He admitted which further enraged Subaru. Subaru was about to shout at him again. "But…" He continues.

"That did not mean I ditched you."

Subaru pause for a moment before getting angry again.

"What do you mean you didn't ditch m-!" Subaru was about to angrily shout again but was cut off.

"Subaru, the definition of ditching someone is to abandon them to their fate or leave them behind." He stated cutting him off. " I did no such thing Subaru I did not abandon you did I? (Even though he really wanted to)."

He didn't seem convinced at all. "Yeah?, If you didn't ditch me than what did you do when I was getting my ass kicked?"

"I spectated."

There was a short pause as Subaru tried to process what he had just said which enraged him further.

"Your telling me that you just stayed somewhere and watched me getting my ass kicked!"

"Yes."

"Why you-!"

"Shut up." He cut off Subaru again.

"First of all, I would have intervened if your life was at risk." He stated.

"And second of all shouldn't you thank the girl behind you for saving and healing you first?" He pointed to Emilia who had a complicated expression on her face.

Subaru seemed to have calmed down a bit. He grumbled but took a deep breath to calm himself and turned to the silver haired girls way.

"Thank you so much for helping." He bowed to the girl. Which Emilia brushed off.

"You have no reason to thank me, I only did because he has something I need." She pointed at Kei who shrugged.

"You wanted to know my speculation on the possible whereabouts of the thief right?"

She nodded.

"Okay, I speculate that the thief is in…" He paused for a moment to see Emilia look at him with anticipation.

"Lugnica…"

A short pause of silence permeated.

"Is that all?" She asked hoping.

Kei shrugged his shoulders.

"Like a said I don't know my way in this kingdom so you shouldn't have expected much from me."

Emilia looked down, her hands bawled and her lips bit. Puck in the other hand looked ready to attack me with ice balls.

"… Thank you."

Kei was slightly taken aback. "Come again?"

"I should have known you didn't know much about the capital, but, I still thank you for at least giving me some sort of information." She got up and walked past me.

Puck followed suite while glaring at me.

Kei felt kinda bad for somewhat tricking Emilia…. Kinda.

Subaru looked on seemingly not understand the situation. But Kei can see some fire of resolve in his eyes.

Kei sighed as Subaru went and grabbed his jacket and grocery bag and went after Emilia.

He decided to follow as he grabbed his bag as well and the appas. And calmly followed suite.

"Let me help!"

He could hear Subaru's loud voice as he made his way to them.

He sees them arguing about helping each other and not too. He decided to cut in.

"Let me help as well."

Emilia and Subaru looked towards him.

"Me and Subaru know what the thief looks like. Also we can cover more ground and information with more people anyways." He explained his reason.

Emilia looked hesitant and reluctant while puck just glared at me suspiciously.

"*Sigh* I suggest you accept, this moron here fell for you hard. And would follow you and try to help regardless if you refuse." He pointed to Subaru who seemed offended.

"Hey! I wouldn't do that!" Subaru denied. To which Kei just deadpanned at him.

Emilia seemed to think about it for a bit.

"Let them help Lia, I don't sense any malicious intent from them." He assured, he then looked at Kei. "But that guy does seem annoyed with the scary eyes one."

"Plus the scary eyes can be used as a shield. The white eyes guy doesn't have malice or ill intent but I will keep watch on him."

After the assurance of Puck, Emilia agreed albeit half-heartedly.

And so begins their search.
