Chapter thirty-nine

I stared at the ceiling looking up in a daze, the alarm clock rang violently.

I hadn't slept a wink last night, turning to my side Charlie was fast asleep beside me. Little devil.

I frowned and looked at the little baby I had picked up on my last mission.

To say the full story no I didn't kill the woman I couldn't actually the scenario was all too familiar to mine. I just couldn't do it.

But I did warn her about it. She cried, thanking me for not killing her but started panicking about the baby.

It also wasn't easy covering up her death.

She didn't have anyone she could trust and she also could not travel back to her hometown with the child. It was too dangerous.

And that's how we concluded I should hold the baby until she could get help from her folks.

I am starting to regret it, the more time I spend with this child.
