Chapter 101

  Present Day

Sylvin returned to the throne room, sending the humans scurrying as he passed through them. “Get these people out of here,” he snapped at the healers. “Unless you wish me to finish them off.” He passed through the rear door of the throne room, into the stair well that led down into the crypts.

Tayem rose in a sinuous slide of scale, hissing at the sound of Sylvin’s footsteps, only relaxing once he saw who it was that used the stair. The young green sat amongst the eggs, within the protective circle of Tayem’s tail, and looked at Sylvin with wide eyes.

  “Sepher?” She asked.

“Here, Ceila,” the blue trotted down the stairs behind Sylvin, and the green stepped over eggs and red dragon’s tail in order to reach him, the youth wrapping his arms around her and pressing his face into her hair, breathing in her scent. “Stay in the nest,” he told her, releasing her. “Tayem will keep you safe. I have to help the Silver Lord.”
