They're not bad...

I pause my speaking to see Yang's expression, and I almost cackled. I've never seen someone look so angry before, not even Raven looked that angry when I went too far with my jokes. Ruby was just nervously looking between us while also sparing some worried glances towards the fallen guy who was now receiving help from a student who was versed in medical care.

"Why would you do that?" She somehow screeches and whispers at the same time making me burst out into a fit of uneven giggles while trying to remain serious. "Well, what would you do if someone made fun of Ruby?"

"I'd make them eat their words... never mind I get it." She whispers the last part. "I knew you'd get it, besides it's not like I killed 'em or anything. Just weakened him a bit- a lot." I just smile when she narrows her eyes again.

"*sigh* Anyway, now that we know each other, we're friends. See you at school!" I say while walking away, just in time for a blond dude to run in that direction while gagging.

____

"Ahh finally, solid ground." I say while walking off the airship. The castle-like school is just a few minutes walk away. Behind me I see Yang and Ruby talking, and my eyes must be playing tricks on me because I could swear I saw Ruby turn into a chibi...

"Hmm, do I need glasse- Oomph." I should have been watching where I was going. Looking towards the ground I see the person I bumped into. She has light blond hair put into a bun, a black and purple cape, a tablet clutched into her hands, and- wait. This is the woman who was in the hologram.

"Hello there, and sorry about that. I didn't see you there." I reach down to help pull her up, but she just stands up on her own and huffs off.

"Well, she seems rude. I hope her heel breaks and she falls again..." I shrug to myself forgetting about it, and begin walking back towards the school when a dust container comes rolling up to my foot. I pick it up, my eyebrow raised in confusion, and look around only to see a crater. Oh and Ruby getting yelled at.

'Ruby does seem to be the type to attract trouble' I muse to myself. Walking towards the scene I tap the girl yelling at Ruby putting a pause to her verbal assault. Looking up at me she takes me in for a second and then speaks.

"Well, are you gonna introduce yourself and the reason for touching me. Also, could you stop staring at me. Your eyes are... intense." Someone wasn't taught manners it would seem. I can feel the vain poking out on my forehead as I try my hardest to glare even harsher at her. Seeing her practically squirm from my gaze is quite amusing to me. Smirking, I cease my glare and show her the container of dust. "This yours?"

She blinks, blinks again, and finally snatches the container from me. "Thank you, I can't believe that on my first day here someone is already messing this up for me." She... seems like a lot to deal with. This is why I'm not gonna spoil my kids rotten... okay only a little rotten I promise. I mean, I can already see their eyes as they ask for a toy. How can anyone say no! They must be crazy to say no i tell ya! Crazy!

I'm getting off topic.

"B-but I didn't even do anything!" Comes the squeaky voice that belongs to the one and only Ruby. Coughing the last bit of dust out of her lungs, Ruby walks up to us. Opening her mouth Ruby explained what happened. "So I was talking with Yang and she was all like "You need to make friends" and I was saying how I didn't need friends cuz I had her and then she had the audacity to run off! How crazy! She bumped into me causing me to knock into her and that caused dust to go everywhere, and I sneezed causing us to blow up... Now I was trying to apologize to her but she yelled at me!"

Huh, "That sounds like you have bad luck. You ran into a princess who has anger issues."

"Princess! Anger issues! I'll have you know, my name is Weiss Schnee the heiress of the prestigious Schnee Dust Company, the largest producer of energy propellant in the world!" I could practically feel the angry radiating off the princess as her pale blue eyes are wide with disbelief. Y'know if this was an anime world, I'd bet that her snow white hair would be flaring around with how angry she is.

"Ah yes, the Schnee Dust Company. Not only is it known for its energy propellant, It's also infamous for its treatment of its labor forces and shady business partners." OH Burn! Great line coming from contestant number 3 who appeared from the shadows. I feel like I've seen her from somewhere... er raven hair paired with her amber eyes that give off a deep vibe make her quite the mysterious beauty that would be hard to forget. Ah I know her. Blake, I met her when doing missions for Raven. I'm surprised shes here and not glued to Adams's side.

She glances at me and her eyes widen an almost unnoticeable amount. She looks away and doesn't acknowledge my existence anymore, as if I were just a stranger. 'We used to be best friends... but Adam drove us apart once they got together.' Turing back towards where Ruby should be, well she wasn't. Neither was Weiss, and Blake is gone. Did I zone out again? Raven told me to stop doing that...

Groaning, I walk towards the school and enter from the main door. Following the map that was hung up on the wall next to the door I make my way to the auditorium. Along the way I go over what has happened so far. I've met Yang and Ruby, ruined a dude's heart, angered a heiress, and saw Blake again. All in all it's been a good start to the day. The only thing I'm gonna complain about are the stares. I know my eyes are weird, but people really need to grow up. If all it takes is a pair of eyes to creep them out, they aren't gonna make it far into being hunters/huntresses. Even now people are staring, but people be people I guess.

Pushing open the doors that lead into the auditorium. Looking around I see Ruby talking to her sister, likely telling her about Weiss. And speaking of the devil, Weiss is stalking up to Ruby. Now this is gonna be interesting. I walk over to them and just stand behind them as there is no seat, actually, I have a better idea. Standing to the right of Yang, I put my hands on the shoulders of the guy sitting next to her.

"Hey pal, someone's calling for you over there by the door. Yea, you see the blond dude looking in this direction. He says you cheated your way into this school, as theirs no way you're strong enough to get in. Don't look at me like that, he's the one who told me to tell you. Now what are you gonna do about it?"

Grinding his teeth the dude stands up is practically seething, "Why I oughta..." He excuses himself and goes off to confront the guy I framed. The poor soul. Plopping down on the now vacant chair, Yang finally takes notice of me. "Sup blonde, how ya been."

Blinking at me she says "well, I just learned Ruby blew up. I'm also being forced to listen to this girl yell at her. Give me a sec." She turns back towards the two and says "Look, it seems the two of you got off on the wrong foot. We all just got here after a long flight, so we're all a little tense. Why not start over and try to be friends?"

Ruby's eyes turn to starts and nodding excitedly at the idea, "That sounds amazing! I'll start. My name is Ruby Rose, nice to meet you Weiss! We should hang out sometime."

I kinda feel bad for Ruby. She's trying so hard to be nice to the princess only for it to be returned with bitterness. "Yeah, that sounds like a great idea! We could go to a restaurant, try on clothes, we could even talk about cute boys!"

Already imagining it ruby asks in a hopeful voice, "Really?!" And turned down immediately when Weiss just says no. Yang's lilac eyes turn crimson for a second as she gets ready to shout at Weiss.

*Dung dung*

"I'll... keep this brief. You have all traveled here to further your path. Whether that be through seeking knowledge, making friends, or honing your skills. No matter your reasoning, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people." Ozpin pauses to take a breath as he looks around the room, "But as I look amongst you, all I see is wasted energy that needs a direction to be guided towards. Over your life, you've gained knowledge which you so wrongly believe will bring you through everything. It is my hope that the time you spend at his school that you learn knowledge will only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." He looks around the room once more and finds my eyes. He nods, and starts walking away.

Goodwitch steps up to the mic, "Tonight you will all sleep in the ballroom. Your initiation is tomorrow. Dismissed."

I hear Yang whispering next to me, "He seemed kinda... off." Ruby nods along to what her sister said and follows up. "Yeah, like he wasn't even there."

I roll my eyes at the two. "Oh please, hes probably said the same exact speech so many times it's probably become routine. It's like operating in low power mode." And they're gone, they didn't even listen to me... sighing I stand up and make my way towards the ballroom.

People were everywhere, and of course all the good spots were taken. In fact, the only spot left is next to Blake. What are the odds~ smirking I make my way next to Blake who was far too engrossed in her book. Leaning next to her I whisper into her bow "boo."

She all but stays calm. Her eyes open wide, breathing heavily, and with her book pressed to her chest as if to calm her thumping heart. "Hey, scaredy cat~ why hide your ears?"

She takes a minute to calm down and glares at me while clearing her throat, "Are you trying to kill me!? You just about gave me a heart attack!" She whisper shouts at me.

"Not yet my friend, but why are you here? You were so wrapped around Adam's fingers and I don't see him letting you be here. But, I won't let you dodge my question. Why hide your ears?"

She looks down before looking up and finding my eyes, "I-I want people to get to know me for me. Not just as a Faunus, but as Blake. And sorry for before, I don't know what I saw in Adam but we are not together anymore."

"Yeah, I figured. He would never let you be here if you were still dating him. Besides I-"

"Hel-oooo! I think you two know each other?" I was wondering where Yang was. I need to keep an eye on her. How am I supposed to look after her if I can't even keep track of her.

Blake rolls her eyes before she can stop herself and eyes the two. She lingers on Ruby for a bit, "Aren't you... the one who exploded earlier."

Ruby smiles and giggles, "Eyup that'd be me! You can call me crater- Ruby, you can call me Ruby. Nice to meet you!"

Blake just hums and goes back to her book when Yang calls out to her. "So, whats your name?"

Not looking up from her book she just answers, "Blake." Smiling Yang continues, "Well, Blake, I'm Yang! I like your bow!"

"Thanks..." ooh Blake's getting annoyed, how fun~ also, do they not see me.

"It goes great with... your pajamas!" Swing and a miss Yang, better luck next game.

"Yea..." Oop, even her bow is twitching now. How has she not blown a fuse? If it was me, and I didn't know the two, I woulda at least told them to go away by now. And Yang looks like shes gonna try once more. Honestly, I appreciate her tenacity. She must be very determined to talk to Blake.

"Nice night don't ya think?" Blake finally looks up from the book and out the window. "Yes, it's a wonderful night." Goes back to reading, "Almost as great as this book that I will continue to read... as soon as you two leave." Finally, there it is. She finally realized that these two won't get the hint and brutally told them to leave.

'How cold hearted .' I chuckle at my own joke, causing the three to look at me. "What, do I have something on my face?" Blake smirks and decides to poke at me, "Yeah, you do. A nose, mouth, and two soulless eyes." Yang flinches remembering what I did to the last person who directly insulted my eyes. "Well at least I don't hide who I am." I raise a brow at her as she narrows her eyes.

Ruby, who was looking at something this whole time, finally asks "What book are you reading?"

"Huh, oh I'm reading The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It's about these two souls trapped in one body, with both fighting for control of it."

"That sounds great! I love books! Yang used to read to me all the time, I know countless stories of heroes and monsters! They're one of the things that inspired me to be a huntress!" Ruby said and I could practically see stars in her eyes when she mentioned the word huntress, as if she was seeing the day she'd be one.

"And why is that? Hoping to live happily ever after?" Blake asks.

"I'm hoping we all do! I want to be just like those heroes in the books... nothing seems better than to fight for what's right, protecting those who can't protect themselves." Ruby says with a distant and determined gaze.

"That's quite the goal... if only the real world was a fairy tale." Blake just earned a new title, Crusher of Dreams. HA!

"Could you all keep it down! Some of us are trying to sleep!" Weiss the grumpy came over to ruin our fun. I can't let her get away with this. "You've been here for two seconds and you're already the loudest of us princess." I state blankly.

Critical damage, she tries to find words as her face flushes red from anger. Luckily for her, Ruby was on her side. "Guys shes right, people are trying to sleep."

Blake, deciding shes had enough social interaction for the night, blows her candle out just as Weiss was gonna speak. With that I get ready for bed. And by that I mean I crawled into Blake's sleeping bag with her. "Y'know Slate, I still don't understand how you're so cold. Like it has to be at least 79 degrees in this room and your skin feels about 52 degrees." Blake mumbles as she also crawls into the bag. We used to sleep together all the time before Adam came along.

"And I guess we'll never know... back to earlier, are my eyes that bad?" I shift around a little not wanting to look directly at Blake.

"No, your eyes have never been bad. Different, but not bad. I personally enjoy your eyes." That... was unexpected. "What about them?" I must know. Blake, however, doesn't answer me and just evens her breathing to fall asleep. I steady my breath to the same pattern, and soon enough I welcome the inky darkness that is sleep.
