"You're getting better," She said

The room was large, built like a samurai dojo, with floor patting, and students wearing white ropes. The overall building was big, with over 23 rooms, with teachers that graduated top of their class. Blexwood Academy was known to be one of the top schools to produce different types of samurais If you wanted to be able to take down Outlanders with ease, you had to go to one of the top schools in The New World.

Different types of monsters lived in the New World, but they all had the same nickname. Nightmares, Different types of samurais were needed to deal with different types of nightmares, if a nightmare were found in the city, you would need a Research Samurai to figure out what type of samurai you would need to fight the nightmare.

I always thought it was a dumb system but there was nothing I could do about it unless I ran for office in Oceanspire, which handled the education system in The New World

I was in my second year at Blexwood Academy, I had made many friends, and also made some enemies, but that didn't take away the fact that every day I lived always had something interesting happen. I was very happy with this because if nothing happen I would be bored out of my MIND

"You're slowing down" I responded

"Ha, you wish, I'm only getting started" she smiled

During my first year, I met Alex, She slowly became one of my closest friends and I eventually started catching feelings for her. I hadn't expressed my feelings to her just yet but I was planning to during the Shooting Star Event, which was taking place in a week's time. The Shooting Star Event was described to be a special event in which at midnight a bunch of shooting stars would be visible in the night sky, I also heard from some of the seniors I knew that The Shooting Star Event was used by many people to confess their feelings to their crush. So I planned on inviting Alex to the event and confessing.

I used my wooden sword and went for her neck

She quickly blocked the attack with her sword, but then she pushed me back with her sword and went for my gut with her sword in her left hand. It was hard for me to avoid the attack as the attack was coming from my weak side, So I quickly turned my sword upside down CLANK She used all her force on one attack, she went with a horizontal slash and my sword fell on the ground, but she wasn't down, right when my sword hit the ground, she rushed at me and rammed me to the ground.

She was right on top of me which made me a little happy

"Gotchu" she said

Soon after I realized that she was on top of me, I quickly threw her off me, why? I don't know, I probably didn't want her to see a bump

Soon after the dressing bell rang, it let us know that samurai training was over for the day and we would have ten minutes to get change before passing period

"See ya later" She waved

I went to the locker room and got changed, the entrance to the boy's locker room was right next to the girl's. I went in and went to my locker

I turned left three times, then two, and then one

CLICK

I opened my locker and got changed

"Hey, you going to the Shooting Star Event?"

My locker was pretty close to the entrance, so when Gabe came in I asked him

"Ah Nah, I don't have a date"

"Sucks"

I continued to get changed while talking to him, Gabe had the locker behind me

I saw at the corner of my eye

"Well I don't really mind, but you, what's her name? Alex? Yeah her, you going to ask her out?"

I hadn't told anyone about my feelings, so I got nervous when he said her name. By the way, I stayed silent and I now had goosebumps on my skin, he knew he hit the mark.

"I saw the way you were sparing with her, your lucky, I had to spar with Tom, I mean nothing against him, he's just kinda boring"

"I heard that," Tom said from the other side of the room

Gabe looked and him and ginned and Tom looked at him with a bland expression. Gabe turned his head and started to talk again.

"You should ask her out, I think she will say yes"

"Maybe" I said

I had finished changing and closed my locker then putting the lock back

"I guess you're done changing, see ya later Mora"

I waved goodbye and left the boy's locker room

RINGGGG

School was now over for the day. I walked around the dojo to make sure I didn't step on the map with my shoes, I left the dojo and shut the door, I turned left and started making my way to my next class. On my way there I stopped and looked out the hallway window, well I couldn't say that as the whole hallway I was in was one big glass tube that connected the 2 buildings. I looked at the setting sun and thought to myself "what should I do?"

I left the school building and went to my dorm which wasn't that far from the main school building, around a 5-minute walk. I had arrived at the main floor of my dorm building. As soon as the doors opened I saw multiple students around the lounge TV. I didn't pay much mind to it and made my way to the elevator. I got in and pressed the number 6. After a while, the elevator started going up.

I arrived at my floor and got off, and made my way to my room. I pulled out my keys and when I got to my room I inserted them into the keyhole

TWIST

"Happy Birthday!"

Around 15 people were inside my room. I forgot it was my birthday as I never really celebrated it, As my parents...

"Took you long enough," Said, Tom

"Yeah, what happened?" said Ellan

"Huh, nothing," I said

I thought back to when I stood still in the hallway for an hour thinking to myself

"Sorry I'm late" Alex appeared right behind me

"Your not late, Mora just got here," said Ajem

"Really? Why did you take so long?" Alex said

"It was nothing," I said

They didn't ask any more questions and after that, we celebrated my birthday, I always knew that I was an overthinker, every time I overthought something I would almost always be right, but this one time I hoped I was wrong.

After the party everyone started to slowly leave, Alex was the last one to go, this was my time to confront her about her

"Hey, Alex"

"Hmm?"

I thought about what to say, what could I say? This wasn't easy to say. but I had to ask.

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"WHAT...no I don't...I got to get going cya"

BUMP BUMP BUMP

She left and closed the door.

Ever since I was born, I was told that my 5 senses were on another level compared to normal people. I could hear things most people couldn't hear, the big thing I could hear that almost nobody could hear was someone's heart. I used this to be able to tell when someone was lying to me. when someone was telling the truth their heartbeat would increase just a little but not too much, but when someone was lying, their heartbeat would rapidly increase. I was never wrong when I used this.

And from what I could tell, Alex was lying.
