The Dark Forest / Act 1, Part 2

It was now the next day, I got up from my bed and went to the kitchen, my room was one big square, it had everything I needed. I opened the cabinet and picked up the cereal from the top shelf, I then got a bowl and afterward got the milk from the fridge. This was usually how I started my day.

It was a Saturday morning, I didn't have any plans with friends to do anything this weekend, so I guess I would be spending most of my time inside today. After I finished eating my breakfast, I got up from my chair and went to my room to get changed, hmmm what to wear, I usually liked to were clothing that made me feel comfortable while looking good. What would look good right now? I was thinking of wearing a cyan hoodie with black pants, After thinking about it for a while, I decided to go with what I originally thought about wearing. I picked up my clothes and headed to the shower.

TURN

I turned the shower on as soon as I got into the bathroom I put my clothes on the sink, took my clothes off, and got in the shower. The water was warm, it always felt nice, something about getting in the shower and thinking about what things might happen in the near future, brought me peace, having a time to myself to think, something I was truly grateful fo-

BRRZZZ BRRRZZZ

I was receiving a call, but right now, the outside world didn't matter, whoever it was would have to wait, as I was in complete peace right now. Right now anything outside the bathroom didn't exist.

I stayed in the shower for another hour.

I got out and got changed, I then checked who called me. It was Gabe, it would only make sense for me to call him back

RING RING RING

He didn't pick up straight away which was fine with me

"Bro what took you so long to call back"

Gabe finally picked up, he asked me what took me so long to call back, but I couldn't think of anything to say

"Uhhh, I was out and my phone died"

From the way his breathing changed, I guessed he thought I was telling the truth

"Anyways, why did you call me?"

Oh yeah, So me and a couple of people were planning on sneaking off campus and going to The Dark Forest, I just wanted to ask if you wanted to go"

"Are you dumb, going to The Dark Forest is like asking to be killed, no one has ever a successful exploration, what makes you think a bunch of 19-year-olds could pull it off"

I had my doubts but it kinda sounded like fun

"I know but trust me were only going in for like an hour and were not even going to go that far in"

I thought about it a little more, what would happen, what would we see? All these things went threw my mind, The Dark Forest had never been explored, but if we went in for a short amount of time, and if we took the necessary safety precautions, what could go wrong?

"When?"

"Uhh, We leave the day before The Shooting Star Event"

"Ok sure," I said

"Ok, Were going to meet a day before at the mall and talk about what we're going to need, talk to you then"

he hung up the phone after that.

I knew Alex had a boyfriend, so there was no reason for me to ask her out, but why was she hiding it from me?

It didn't matter anymore tho. Now I had to get prepared for The Dark Forest
