Chapter 18 : Confusing Patterns

Rhett's POV

I tried to rub the sleep from my eyes, but it was persistent and wouldn’t leave me alone.

“You look horrible,” Rhett told me as he walked in through the office doors. I glared at him, but my eyes were so heavy with sleep and puffy that I felt like I was just staring at him blankly. I accepted the coffee he extended to me either way.

“As if I didn’t know that already, thank you for the confirmation of my wretched demeanor.”

“Wretched demeanor.” Hayden mocked as he fell down onto the armchair that was sat at the side of the room in the little living area of the office.

The place was wide enough as it was, but having the living area added to it made the office seem more like a second living room more than anything else. To the right from the door was a large wooden table where meetings were held with the elders, to the left was the living area with a mini fridge and couches.
