Chapter 19 : Avenging Angel

Eleanore's POV

I groaned as I pulled at my shirt again, trying to fan myself to keep cool.

The night air was hot and humid despite the absence of the sun and I was beyond frustrated with it. There was a crunching sound behind me and I turned to see the image of a shadowed figure walking behind me.

I turned back around, clutching harder onto my bag and beginning to quicken my pace. I wasn’t sure who it was exactly that was walking behind me, but I preferred not to be alone on the street at night with anyone I didn’t know.

I put my hands in my pocket and began to position my keys between my knuckles. It was better to be safe than sorry, Eleanore, in these situations it’s always your life or theirs.

So I took a deep breath, and then an even deeper breath as I heard the footsteps coming closer. Just as I was about to turn around, my shoulders were seized and I was thrown to the ground.
