Chapter 91: I Know What You Did

Eleonore’s POV

The ringing of the bells pierced my ears, and my eyes shot back and forth between Claudius and the door which led to the main area of the pack house. What was happening? Did something go wrong? Where were the twins? Were they alright?

I found my mind rushing with all sorts of questions as my anxiety rose, it wasn’t until Claudius began to speak up did I find something else to focus on.

“Ah!” I looked at Claudius with wide eyes as the alarm bells began ringing all across the house. I could hear the various thundering of boots and even, in the far distance, the sound of wolves howling to alert their location to other wolves. “That would be the prisoner alarm.”

My head shot to Claudius from where it had been looking outside, my eyes wide at the implication. Robert! I looked outside again just in time to see various wolves breaking the line of the field and into the woods. I hadn’t realized so much time had passed until I noticed the fading sunset; it was dusk.
