Chapter 119: Are You Delirious?

Hayden’s POV

“Do you think he’s right?”

I watched my brother contemplate my words over and over in his head until he eventually sighed and threw his head back. I could tell he was frustrated and beyond tired of this whole situation. It seemed like wherever we turned the consequences of what Bastian had done seemed to follow us.

It was easier said than done to try and let bygones be bygones.

The two of us sat there for some time as we tried to figure out where we stood on the matter, but it seemed almost pointless to try and figure everything out right then and there. The entire situation would need careful consideration if we wanted to appease at least half of the members of the court without any bloodshed.

It was just as I was thinking of ways to bring peace that a familiar aroma wafted through the air, and I didn’t have to lift my head up to know who had just come outside to the small patio where Rhett and I were sitting.
