The tension in the room was thick, I had never felt anything like it before.


The room, which was of course the twins’ office, was filled with not only Rhett, Hayden, and myself, but various other members of the pack council as well, including the betas, Claudius and Xavier and some of the other elders who I had yet learned the names of.


The tension that I mentioned was, however, keeping all of these men silent as they waited for something to happen. None of them moved a single inch, including myself as I sat on one of the couches besides Rhett.


Hayden on the other hand, the cause of everyone’s discomfort, was furiously clicking through a computer that sat on the desk. I watched as his eyes darted back and forth between the monitors, his brows pulled together tightly as he searched for the person who had placed the chains around the door or, even better, started the fire in the first place.
