Chapter 163: Magical Memories

Eleonore’s POV

“Hey,” Amanda called out to someone, her face light and cheerful as she stared at the person whose face I couldn’t see. “What’d you call me out here for? It’s cold as b*lls out here.”

I walked closer to where she was standing, hoping to see the figure she was talking to but I couldn’t. The world around me was blurred, and even her usually loud and clear voice seemed to sound like she was beneath water. I tried to push the mist away, but the more I pushed the more it seemed to show up.

“Huh?” Amanda’s voice rang out. “Wait—are you alright? Your eyes are—” and then a vicious, bone-chilling scream erupted into the cold air, but no one was around to hear it. And I could taste Amanda’s screams and sobs on my tongue like they were my own. I couldn’t see the shadowy figure that attacked her, whether it was blurred by the fear in Amanda’s eyes or the mist I couldn’t tell.
