Chapter 203: Don’t Cry, We’ve Got You

Eleonore’s POV

I couldn’t sleep much that night. After the shower the twins and I had gotten into bed, and within half an hour I could hear their soft breaths slowing down on either side of me. It must’ve been a long day for them as they had been preparing the nursery, and I found myself overcome with curiosity and an unwillingness to go to sleep.

There was too much going on in my head to even begin to think about sleeping, despite how important I knew it was. Everything from the demon situation, to Michael to Viktor, to the twins and finally, the words of those old women which seemed to never want to leave my head.

Maybe it was festering there because I thought there was a semblance of the truth, maybe I thought there was something there that could mean danger for me or for my baby. I couldn’t stop the way even the thought made my heart race.
