There was a whole other world in front of me. 


That was all I could think of as I stared in front of me, the underground expanse of the citadel was larger than I could have ever imagined. Buildings lined the walls of the cavern, half of them sticking out from the side of the rocks and going into the ground beside it, others stood flat on the ground where they could be reached by lit up roadways and some… some even seemed to be hanging from the ceiling. 


Despite it being underground, there was no lack of lighting in the area, and I didn’t even need to strain my eyes the same way I had been in the tunnel. I watched as Michael switched off his torch and splayed his hand out in front of him, as though he were introducing us to the citadel. 


“Welcome to my home,” he said, a wide smirk on his face as he watched our expressions. 


“When you said citadel…” Rhett began, and Michael shrugged.
