Chapter 248: Little Mortal

Eleonore’s POV

I left the twins after that and went straight to the cellars.

Their words were reeling in my mind as I walked through the packhouse, as I was greeted by various other pack members. I still hadn’t had a chance to find Viktor or James yet, the twins had barely even seen their betas before we had had the conversation in the room. I had no doubt they were going to meet up now.

But I had other plans, I had to speak to Kaveh. I had to tell him what my plan was and how, exactly, he was going to help me achieve it. There was a growing anxiety in the pit of my stomach, something that told me it was going to be a hard thing to go through. But I had to do this, I had to confront him.

There was a regret, too, about the way I had brought Kaveh here, about the way I had just thrown him into a cell and locked him up. But I wouldn’t apologize for it. I wouldn’t apologize for wanting to—no, being willing to do anything that would keep everyone I loved safe.
