Chapter Six: The Creeping Darkness

After they had finished their goodbyes, Gabriel and Shawn made their way to Outworld. Arriving to find that Shawn's parents had been waiting on them..

" So this is the infamous Gabriel we have heard so much about " Roshak stood from his throne to extend his hand to Gabriel. Gabriel hesitated knowing that death could follow after contact.

" Oh don't worry. I promise I'm not going to bite " Roshak laughs as Gabriel extends his hand out. But without warning, Roshak grabs onto Gabriel's arm and pulls him into a tight hug.

" I'm so happy that you have come. We have wanted to meet you for so long " Roshak laughs as he hugs onto Gabriel tighter. " Thank you...it's good to meet you to" Gabriel chuckles awkwardly.

" Get off him dear. The poor boy just arrived here " Ishtir smiles as she stands up from her own throne and makes her way over as Roshak breaks the hug finally.

" Hello Sweetie. I'm sorry for my husband. He just gets easily excited" she explains, Gabriel just nods to let them know that it was okay. " We do think you of a son, you have been such a good friend to our Shawnia "Gabriel chuckles in disbelief and looks to Shawn who had by this point, placed his hand through his Hoodie which Gabriel equivilated to a face palm.

" It really is good to finally meet you both. And I thank you for your kindness but we are here for a reason of the upmost importance " Gabriel explained what had been going on back in the Underworld which seemed to leave Shawn's parents Unphased.

" Yes. We had heard about that. We have been investigating this as well but we aren't entirely sure what happened. We had noticed though the fabric of the Underworld, the essence of it, is beginning to shred itself. Which means that something is terribly wrong within your world itself" Ishtir explains. Gabriel tries to think of what it could be but he was drawing nothing but blanks. " But everything had been peaceful there. For the first time..in a long time" Gabriel explained which left the King and Queen puzzled as well.

" Well there is something that we are missing then.." Ishtir frowns.

Lysette and Raven meanwhile has begun trying to gather everyone in the Lycan Kingdom together. The Lycans had been informed that they would need to leave. Most of the Lycans were relieved to know there was a plan in place. It was only a matter of time before the blast made their way to the Kingdom. But this also meant that that Kara's Kingdom would have to be gathered as well..and considering that neither Raven or Lysette had any control over that Kingdom. Their words would practically mean nothing and they knew it would be challenging but they had to do something.

" I could try to go there and speak with them. At least some will recognize me and maybe I can talk them into leaving. Considering the world is being destroyed right now, it shouldn't be too difficult" Raven suggested.

" That is ridiculous. You are pregnant. You need to take it easy.." Lysette pointed out.

" I'm pregnant, not helpless. I am going to do what I can to save my home. Even Shawn knows better than to try and talk me out of this.." Raven was determined. She wanted to be helpful. And she refused to be treated as less than an asset"

" Im not trying to pick a fight. I just want you to be safe " Lysette explains. She knew that Raven was a close to friend Gabriel and took it upon herself to take care of Raven. " I will go to them and I will find a way to get them to leave. I will not let anyone come to harm. And I'll be damned if we are taking out by the fucking sky " Raven looks up as more thousands of Energy balls fall to the ground outside of the Kingdom.

Kara was still in great pain in her prison. She had tried to free herself as best as she could by wiggling her wrist through the cuffs but continued to fail. It had been so quiet. And she was beginning to lose hope. She thought about her life and the choices she had made. She had tried her best to always do the right thing but somehow she ended up here. " Why.." Kara stared at the floor. " Why am I here.." She released the tension from her body and slumped down.

" You know why you are here " A voice called out to her from the Darkness. " huh" Kara looks up to see the feet of someone standing just just close enough to be half revealed by the darkness.

" You are here because you made your decision " The figure steps forth and Kara cannot believe her eyes.

" Jack?" She gasps. She had killed him. How could he be here now? How could he still be alive? She had burned him to ashes. How could this be possible?

" How are you alive? " Kara asked, her body beginning to tense yet again.

" That doesn't matter for right now. All you need to know is that you are here because you put yourself here " Jack smiled as he extended his hand out and a chair flew out from the darkness and landed in his hand. He places the chair on the floor and takes a seat in front of Kara.

" I didn't bring myself here. I don't want to be chained up. I want to go home you fucking bastard" Kara was becoming increasingly angry at the sight of him.

" I beg to differ Kara. Wouldn't you agree Gwen? " Kara looks to where Jack points and see's Gwen standing there, she looked just as beautiful as Kara had remembered. But the sight of here, whilst should have been happiness, provided only more sadness.

" You did this to yourself Kara " Gwen steps foward and places her hand on Kara's Cheek. Kara feels the warmth of Gwen's hand and shivers at her touch. " What are you talking about? " Kara asked as she closed her eyes. She didn't want to see Gwen anymore. This had to be trick. An illusion? Or maybe Kara had finally lost her mind.

" You have tried so hard for so long" Gwen moves her lips right in front of Kara's. Kara could feel Gwen's warm breath on her lips, almost making them melt. She was real. She had to be. That thought kept entering Kara's mind despite how much she wanted this to be a dream.

" You wanted everything to fall into place. You had love finally. You could move on finally. You could ignore your destiny " Gwen kisses Kara gently who did not kiss back. Tears pouring from her eyes as their lips touched. The familiar taste of berries washed through Kara's senses.

" What Destiny...? " Kara uttered out, trying to keep her mind from being overtaken by the dark thoughts that were trying so hard to creep inside.

" To unite the Kingdoms...to Unite the Underworld" Gwen responded as she released her hold on Kara who finally opened her eyes. " Don't be so scared Kara..I'm not going to hurt you" Gwen assures her.

" Why would you do this? ..it doesn't makes sense. I thought you loved me.." Kara wished more than anything that she could wipe the tears that were flowing down her cheeks and pouring into a Waterfall from her chin.

" I did love you...but that doesn't change what you are meant to do" Gwen explains with a giggle and head tilted to the side, almost in a disbelieving way.

" Fuck Destiny. And fuck what I'm meant to do..I just wanted you" Kara cries out which makes Gwen smile and look down at the ground a second before meeting Kara's Gaze again.

" And that is why you are here. You ignored what you are suppose to do" Kara shook her head. " I'm going to say this again. My fucking life does not revolve around Gabriel. I'm not going to be with him just because Destiny says so. Just because others think that we belong together. It's fucking absurd. And if you loved me..you would understand that.." Kara was frustrated. Whoever this was, it was not her Gwen. Gwen was understanding but also would not have pushed her like this.

" Kara. That is your problem. You don't see the bigger picture. You don't see why everything has happened the way it has happened. If it was meant to come easy..then it would be the same as the others " Gwen smiles, calm and collected.

" Others.." Kara asked.

" Yes. You and Gabriel were not the first attempt. For thousands of years..the Kingdoms had come to different agreements on how to unite the Kingdoms. Marrying off their royal off spring. But there was so much hate in the world. So much hate between another. Lies and deception containmented the Underworld. You and Gabriel were the last shot" Gwen sat down in a chair beside Jack who looked to his sister with his sinister smile which made Kara disgusted.

" It was said, if you two couldn't find a way to unite the Kingdoms. The Underworld would find itself destroyed through one means or another. It would lead to its destruction forever "

This was all so much for Kara to try to grasp. She surely couldn't be expected to marry someone just to save the world. How could so much hinge on them both?

" Could I not have just married you? Wouldn't that have worked? That would have united the Vampires and Witches.." Kara asked but Gwen shook her head.

" Kara..you are half Vampire. You are the daughter of your father, who was once the Vampiric King. Before my father took his place. You are by birth right, the Princess of Vampires as well and entitled to the throne. But you are also a Witch..that is two Kingdoms right there and that only leaves one..." Gwen looks away from Kara, seeming to be bothered by this fact.

It was beginning to make sense to Kara now on some level though. " I am the only one that can do this..aren't I? " Kara asked, to which Gwen nods in agreement.

" But that doesn't change that I don't love Gabriel anymore. I can't be with someone I don't love"

Another figure steps foward from the darkness. " I beg to differ " Pierce answers. Kara was shocked but also somehow not surprised at this point. " You seemed to have no problems about marrying me" Pierce crosses his arm and laughs cockily.

" I only got with you so I could Save Gabriel" Kara growls at Pierce who only laughs harder.

" Yeah sure, you used me too. You wanted Gabriel and couldn't have him so you got with me. You keep explaining as trying to help the wolf. But you had already lost hope by that point. You settled" he answered.

" Oh you are full of shit. I didn't give up hope. I never gave up hope. And that is why I continued paying for it." Kara was raising her tone now. " I'm so fucking glad I killed you " Kara barked at Peirce. Staring holes through him with her glaring eyes.

Pierce ignores this and looks to his brother and Sister. " Guys..do you wanna know a secret? " Pierce looked at Kara, who looked curiously at him now.

" You know the baby that Gabriel killed? " Gwen and Jack nodded which made Kara's heart sink.

" The baby never existed. I never got her pregnant. She refused to have sex with me. She pushed me away no matter how much I tried to get a taste of that little treat " Pierce licked his lips as he glances back at Kara who was now staring blankly into nothingness. Jack stands up with a smug smirk on his face as he approaches Kara places his hand on her arm and laughs. " Oooooo devious little slut. You really are a bad girl. I knew it " Gwen stood up and pushed Jack away from Kara who was unresponsive. " You are so insensitive you fucking dick. She probably had a good reason for lying" Gwen turns to Kara. " Don't you? " but Kara, remains silent.
