Vampires, hundreds of thousands, flew overhead, smothering the light out over the Kingdom. Lysette, who had knew this was coming, called up to them. " If you want this Kingdom, you will have to go through me! "
Raven watched on from inside the castle. She had rushed inside at the command of Lysette though she wanted to help too. But she also knew she had to protect the baby. Shawn had not returned yet and Raven could sense how much trouble they were in. Whilst the Lycans were fierce. There is no reasonable way they would win this battle. Not without help.
Raven, taking a deep breath, teleported in the throne room of Shawn's parents. She saw absolutely no signs of life and this had her concerned. " Shawn? " She called out but recieved no reply. " Where the hell is he? " She thought to herself as she began walking through the halls of the a Palace.
She walked down a long, dark hallway. It seemed almost endless, but had several other intersecting hallways connected to it. It was almost like a maze of sorts. Raven knew Shawn had to be here somewhere though.
As she walked, she heard screaming. To her, what sounding like fighting. Raven approached an open door where the screams seemed to be imitating from and found Shawn yelling at his Sisters.
" You lost him? What the hell do you mean you lost him? " Shawn was furious and was angry at his siblings carelessness. " We don't know. One second he was on the bed. And the next, he was gone " Xelima explained, still frantically searching around the room. " That doesn't even make sense..and why was he on the bed? " Shawn rubbed his forehead as Raven approached him from behind and tapped his shoulder.
" Raven? What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be in the Underworld?" He said in a tone that was slathered thickly in frustration and impatience.
" The Lycan Kingdom is under attack. Vampires are taking advantage of the confusion and we need you and Gabriel back there now! " she demands but then notices Gabriel isn't with Shawn.
" Where is he? " She asked as she watched his sisters continue searching.
" I don't know. And it's a long story. But the short end of it is that My sister's said that Gabriel dissapeared. And now they can't find him. Kara may be here in Outworld but my parents won't help us. They said they can't intervene but that they could take refugees " Shawn answered as he too glanced back at his sisters. " IF YOU HAVENT FOUND HIM BY NOW, YOU ARENT GOING TO!" He shouts at them which causes them to finally cease their search.
" Great. So now we don't have Kara or Gabriel" Raven punches the bridge of her nose trying to calm herself down. " I can look for Gabriel here. But it's going to take some time" Shawn offers.
" No. We need you back in the Underworld. We can't afford to lose this battle right now.
" Are you going to Gabriel's home? Can we come? " Shawn's sisters gather around with huge smiles on their faces at the excitement that they would be able to see a whole new place. Especially where Their future husband came from"
Um....sure? " Raven says, confused by the offer but welcoming the help.
Meanwhile, Gabriel is running across Outworld in search of Kara. He couldn't track her scent but he did feel something pulling him. Leading him in some strange way. Since he had no other leads, he felt it was best to go with this instinct.
After running for a few more hours, he finally is able to see a large Black Pyramid in the distance. It stand alone, but stands out against the red sea of fire shards on which Gabriel was traversing.
He wasn't sure but he had a feeling that Kara might be in there. And if she was, that means he is close. He wasn't sure exactly what to expect. He also didn't understand why she was there in the first place. Who would want to capture her? Who would do something like this to her? The only one that he could think of would be the vampires or Aurora. But Aurora had been captured and the vampires seemed a bit unlikely to him. He didn't have the answers that he wanted but he fully intended to get them one way or another.
Every so often, he would hear Kara calling out to him. He was beginning to feel as though this wasn't just in his head. Every time she called his name, he felt in the overwhelming sense of so many different emotions. Passion, Hunger, Happiness, drive, love, lust, and the desire to be by her side. He was her Protector and would be for life.
" Kara..I'm coming for you. Just hold on " He kept saying over and over in his mind as he ran harder and faster at the repetition of her name.
" Kara" Kara raised her head, looking around bit saw Noone. For a second, she thought she would have another illusion pop up to harass her and point out her faults again. But there was nothing but silence.
" Kara" and then again, she heard her name but this time she could recognize the voice. It was Gabriel's voice. He sounded worried. He sounded sad. Kara wasn't sure why she was hearing him but she felt that it had to be another sick dillusion from her own mind. " Kara I'm coming for you " his words came to her again. " Gabriel? Is that you? " She called out but she recieved no reply. She struggled to remove her chains again but they were strong and she could not break free. " Kara, I will keep you safe. I will protect you until my dying breath" his voice spoke again. Kara could feel herself wanting to cry. If this was some sick and twisted game then she wanted no part of it. She refused to let herself be subjected to anymore of the pain this hell offered her.
As Kara stared into the Darkness, she a dim light. The darkness was doing everything in its power to conceal it from her but she could still see it. It was approaching her ever so slowly. " What..what now " Kara tensed her body, preparing for the worst. And light continued to approach her as Kara did her best to close her eyes and prepare herself for any horror that was about to happen.
" Kara.." a voice called out. This time, it wasn't a Gabriel. A man and woman stood before her. Two people she did not recognize. One, a tall man who looked alot Gabriel. And a woman, shorter who seemed to look alot like Lysette.
" Are you.." Kara was putting the pieces together. These were Gabriel's parents. But how was this possible? How and why would they show up? She didn't even know them. It would have made more sense for them to appear to Gabriel. These didn't feel like illusions to Kara. These felt far more real and far more spiritual. Ghosts of sorts. Spirits or perhaps well preserved memories that had been lost within the fabrics of time and remained here and now for her to witness.
" Kara..we don't have much time. But you have to stay strong dear. You have to stay strong for yourself and for Gabriel" The woman speaks.
" Gab..riel.." Kara mutters as she looks on in shock.
" You and Gabriel are far more connected than you think. There are so many things that neither of you know. Things that you need to discover together. Don't give up. We promise that everything will be okay. We know that it will. We believed in you both from the beginning " The man spoke, both wearing smiles.
" I don't think I can be what you think I'm suppose to be. I don't think me and Gabriel -" Kara tries to explain her feelings but is cut off by the man.
" Stop that. You can be, anything you want to be. You can do anything you want to do. But you also have to understand that you and Gabriel need one another. Without each other, you will both die" and then the woman speaks again. " Learn to trust one another. You two are all you have " And with that, they both dissapear and Kara is left with more Questions than answers.
She wasn't sure what had just happened but she did know that she wanted Gabriel to come to her.
Gabriel is so close to the Pyramid. He just has to keep pushing and he will get there. He hasn't heard the voice in his head for quite some time and this left him feeling slightly saddened. Hearing her in his head gave him hope. It gave him strength. It gave him life.
Gabriel leaps foward and twists his body in the sand. He had just narrily dodged a scythe held by a figure cloaked in black. " A Night slasher? " Gabriel presumed based on the scythe which was similar to Shawn's.
" Stand down intruder " The Night slasher called out.
" I am not here to cause any trouble. My friend..my..my...look..someone was taken to the Pyramid that doesn't belong there. She isn't dead and she isn't evil. I don't know how she got there but I'm here to get her out. Can you take me to her? " Gabriel explains and pleads. " Impossible. The only way in or out is through death " the night slasher answers.
"If that were true, then how would I be here? " Gabriel questions the Night Slasher who swings his scythe again. But again, Gabriel dodges the attack. " LISTEN I JUST WANT TO GET KARA OUT. IM NOT TRYING TO-" Gabriel falls silent. His body was trembling as he looks down and see's a scythe buried deep in his cut. A second night slasher had come up from behind and taken advantage of his blind spot." Im..just...Kara..I'm sorry " Gabriel falls over.
" Kara " Kara hears Gabriel's voice again and this time, something is different. Something was wrong. Very wrong. Kara's body begins to glow a bright green as fire engulfs it. Symbols, similar to Gabriel's also begin to glow on her skin. The chains melt away from her as the top of the prison explodes off into a million pieces. Before they can react, Kara has appeared and killed off both Night Slashers who stood in her way, burning them to ash without a single ounce of remorse. And that is when she notices Gabriel's body. The fire extinguishes and she rushes to his side. The scythe remained inside of him, and she could see that was hurt badly. " Gabriel..." Kara whimpered as she knelt down beside him. Staring deep into his huge golden eyes. " I came for you Kara..I tried to save you " Kara nodded " Yes you did. You crazy bastard. " She smiles as she tries to hold back her tears. " You know me..I never listen.." Gabriel smiles a little as more blood mixes into the sand. " Gabriel I'm going to try and heal you.." Kara did her best to remove the scythe and finally managed to do so, making him growl in pain. " I'm sorry " She said as she placed her hand over his wound, now coating her hand completely in his blood.
" You look...so beautiful " He smiles. " Oh shut up. I look like shit " She answers back. She was trying so hard to focus on healing him. And she was managing to close the wound but the process was taking longer than expected.
" Kara.." Gabriel says
" Yeah?"
" Remember when you last spoke to me. You said that you'd hope I'd see you alot differently"
" Yes" She answers.
" Well I don't. I still see you as the most beautiful Princess. And...I still love you" Gabriel smiles as body stops raising up and down, indicating that he had stopped breathing. " Gabriel? " Kara shakes him.
" Gabriel noo..no Gabriel. Don't do this...please don't do this " Kara tries even harder to heal him but she had done about all she could and yet she kept trying. Why was this happening? Why was it not working?
" Gabriel don't go. Gabriel please don't fucking go. Gabriel I..I love you too. I love you so fucking much. I need you here. Please..dont die. Don't die. Not like this.." She begs and pleads but it was too late and she knew it.
Gabriel, The Last Lycan King, was dead.
