The Heart

" There it is," Jaus said as he spotted what he was looking for, he walked towards a small steel cylindrical elevated platform that had three thin glass tubes right at the top.

These glass cylinders had a green round rock-like object in them submerged in water and they gave off a faint green glow regularly. they were small and nothing beyond a handful.

" They are as beautiful as I remembered," Jane said.

Jaus stretched his arm and swiftly took one to his side. After he did so, he went back to the door and towards the passage from which he came.

The two scientists were at his sides keeping up with him as he trotted.

He went for his door and in he went, the three men he had left were still there with John, they had applied medicine to ease the bleeding and gauze to press them.

" He has gotten worse," Wilson said with a worried look.

" This was unexpected but definitely nothing I can't handle," he said as he went for his gloves and walked towards the young man on the elevated board.

" Oh, this was the dude I bumped into earlier this morning!" Jane shouted.

" Be quiet!" Will said.

Jaus went for his surgical instruments, just as he did, he noticed that the green hue had spread down from John's torso to his limbs and neck like a parasite trying hard to take over his body.

He rolled off the lid of the glass cylinder and it sizzled releasing the gaseous content.

He went for his surgical knife and went for the young man's chest. He operated on him and he miraculously got the core right to his chest. Now the thing about the core is that it seems to be either sentient or programmed to join itself to any living organic matter as it slid through John's rib cage and fused with his heart.

This didn't baffle Jaus however neither did those around him as they had either heard or seen this. The young unconscious man laid down and made no movement even though he was getting cut open.

As the core joined with the man's blood pump. it took a change, it became bigger almost double the size and it drastically changed color. What appeared to be pink had now turned into a green-black organ delivering green hue off itself.

Jaus withdrew his busy arms from John's body and just as he did, the agape hole suddenly started having flesh come over it. Yes! he was regenerating subconsciously. Within three seconds, the hole that once was there had disappeared like it wasn't even there in the first place, no scar or whatsoever that might suggest he had such a wound there.

He had just demonstrated another ability of the godlike creatures and as Jaus saw that, he smiled feeling assured that this was the indication of him recovering and pulling through.

" Oh, Fascinating!" Will said

" Surely, Melinda's regeneration wasn't nearly as fast as this" Nathe said.

" Super regeneration is quite handy, I'm jealous," He said again.

" Are you willing, rather, can you survive what he just did?" Jaus asked.

" I was just kidding man!"

The green hue over the little branch of networks for blood transportation hadn't dimmed any bit and it was still spreading even at a faster rate this time around.

" I think it's ok," Jaus said

" His breathing has returned to normal and he doesn't look as uncomfortable as before, I'll say that we are good!"

" I think he just needs to rest a little and he will be back to normal," he said, he couldn't leave his eyes off John as he slept.

" I certainly do need to take new tests"

" If I can deeply understand the stem of their power then certainly, I will be able to build an army of super-soldiers!"

" You sound so evil right now," Jane said and laughed over her little joke.

" Well that was anticlimactic, I'll see you and that young man later Jaus," Will said and went for the door out.

" Inform me when he wakes up and don't you dare keep this information to yourself, Jaus Lionheart," Jane said as she joined Will for the door.

The other three went out as well and made it clear that Jaus should call on them if he ever needs help.

"Now it's just me and you John, let's see what's deep inside you."
