Chapter 24: How Could I Ever Forget

It was near midnight when the last of the bodies had been disposed of, and the clean up crew came to take care of the mess in the cabin. As he walked around the debris and destruction, Nathan was certain that it would be a good idea if Brooke didn’t come back until they had patched the holes, restored the windows, and replaced the furniture. He wished he could have simply put her on the road back to New York in the morning, but the information that she’d seen a shifter in the woods had already made her a target for Omega Development.

He walked the path from her cabin to the trailers needing a shower but needing to set his eyes on her and verify she was okay for himself. She was asleep on the sofa when he walked in with Marcus nearby, reading a report of some kind.
