Nathan stared at the letter from Brooke in frozen disbelief. He’d waited two weeks for a word or sign or a clue to her whereabouts. He’d expected her to come back to him. He held on to the promise they’d made to each other that they would face whatever this life had to throw at them together. But he was cut deep and wounded by the words she’d written in hopes of  putting an end to their relationship. 


He thought back over the past two agonizing weeks and the hell he’d been through trying to find her. The last time he’d felt her presence, he’d been chasing after Sophia amidst a gunfight from backup security and Omega Development. Marcus had taken the soldiers from the house on an out of the way chase, and he thought about following him, but he needed to chase down Sophia first and make her explain exactly what she meant by including Cole in her accusation.
