Chapter 47: Is That Your Final Answer?

Kinley

Kinley's whirlwind night was coming to an end. The sun had fully submersed into the horizon and her feet were beginning to ache. They finished their meals at Carl's and said their good-byes to Matt and Natalie.

They loaded back into the limo and drove to her dad's house to drop him off. Kinley had Seth wait in the car while she walked her dad to his door. They stood under the porch light and hugged for what felt like an eternity. Somehow, she didn't want to let him go. This man who had taught her how to ride a bike, and how to throw a punch if needed. He showed her the right way to catch a fish, and the lazy way to tie her shoes. He was everything to her.

She was caught off guard when he announced he was leaving with them. She hadn't had a chance to get into more details with him on his change of heart.

"What made you change your mind, Dad?" she asked.

"Let's just say, your fiancée drives a hard bargain."

"What do you mean?" she asked.
