Don't Lie to Me

I did as Juno directed, graciously accepting her support so I could take time off to make it through finals. My boss at the cafe wasn’t pleased, but gave me the weekend off to study. I finished up the tutoring appointments that were already scheduled, but didn’t take on any new sessions except the one to make up for bailing on Matty.

I made sure to keep the massive bruise on my wrist covered as not to invite any unwelcome lines of inquiry from my professors and classmates. I didn’t spot Sebastian keeping an eye on me, but assumed he was still around. I talked to no one, and made a beeline for my apartment as soon as classes let out.

It was nice to feel like nothing more than a student for a week. No werewolf drama or bussing tables, just time to stay rested and focus on my finals. I wondered if this was how Juno felt all the time. Or anyone who had financial support from their families for that matter. It was pleasant.
