Chapter 44: It Isn't Fair

The alpha motioned for me to help him sit more upright, and I started helping him reposition. He spoke quietly. “If you can have me well by the time of the next council meeting, I will confront Sebastian.” He stretched his neck weakly. “You may leave with your samples, but if I sense any breach in confidentiality I will have you hunted.”

I fluffed the pillows behind him, frowning. “You can barely sense your own feet. And leaking information would put us all in danger, that would be pretty stupid on my part. When is this meeting?”

He grumbled, “We meet every full moon to discuss pack matters. I haven’t been able to attend for quite some time.”

I pulled out my cell phone to look up when the next full moon was and found that it was only six days away. “Great, less than a week.” I set some reminders on my phone, shaking my head. “I thought Hikaru said the whole moon thing was a myth. This is so much to keep up with.”
