30. He found us

Chapter 30

-Anastasia’s POV-

The next morning I got up with a lot on my mind. Aiden’s words still appeared now and then like an echo. I felt like I had been endowed with his expectations, which were too heavy for me.

I didn’t try to run away from Aiden who offered to give me a ride but on the way to school we had nothing to talk about. He was driving attentively when I was fumbling my fingers.

The air was frozen.

Things got changed when Farisa popped up from nowhere and covered my eyes with her warm palms.

“Guess who I am…” Not until she announced the answer did I point out her identity.

She pouted, “Why did you know it was me?”

I chuckled, “At this school I have no friends but you.”

Somehow I felt relieved because of the twist and we headed to the training field hand in hand.

“Hey, Farisa!” A boy ran to us and called Farisa. We turned to him and were confused.

“Hi, Bob. What’s up?” Farisa said with her head tilted.
