Chapter Fourty Five: The Queen's Demands

" So you plan on breaking these bonds..how exactly?" Ember knew that Penny was skilled with magic however this was something that she had never done before. Countering Magic that more than likely was far superior to her own. " I don't know but I'll have to try " Penny answered, as she scowered the small library in the house in hopes to find anything about how to break bindings. " I doubt that there is actually going to be a book on that in here" Ember pointed out though Penny continued to search for it. " And if we do get her out of the Kingdom, we are going to have a target on us" Ember knelt down, offering to help Penny look for the book. " I know it's going to be bad for us. But I have to help her, she is my mother" Penny stressed the importance that this had to her. And Ember knew that, she just wanted to make sure that they did things the right way.

" We will be as sneaky as we can. I will teleport us out of the Kingdom and help her get somewhere safe and far away from the Kingdom. It'll be fine" Penny assures herself as she flips through the last book, discovering nothing even remotely close to the solution she was looking for.

" Dammit " Penny exclaimed as she fell back onto the pile of books, stress and anxiety overwhelming here. There was so much pressure on her now and she could not crack under the tensions. Not now, not after spending so long wanting to meet her mother. And this was the one time she needed her and she could not fail.

" Well if it's not here then we can't give up. I'm going to assume the only books that would be on this subject would be in the castle somewhere. This seems like information they would not want just getting out into the public. The problem is, going back the castle is too risky" Ember tries to her best to think of a way for them to get their hands on the knowledge of how to break bindings as Penny sits back up. " I could just try to wing it, I mean, I've been doing that this entire time and it's worked out pretty well so far " Penny suggested which Ember couldn't entirely disagree with.

" I mean, since the castle is off limits for right now, you might have too" Ember placed down book she was holding, knowing the effort was pointless. " I have to say though...I think your mom is pretty cool " Ember admitted which made Penny smile. " I do too" Penny was so proud to come from Raven. Though she was a chamber maid, she was one of the best witches to ever exist within the Underworld. So much unlike the rest of the witches, and especially Aurora.

" I hope someday I am able to do even just a small portion of the things that she accomplishes. She is a freaking genius. Which is why I can't let her down. She would mess this kind of situation up and neither can I" Penny tries to boost her self confidence.

" Well obviously in the future she has access to her abilities so that means that whatever you do end up doing..works" Ember points out as Penny realizes that this was the truth. " Holy crap..you are right. I'm totally gonna nail this" Penny cheers confidently as she turns to Ember, hugging her tightly. " Thank you Ember, you are amazing "

They were going to be expecting Raven to show up tomorrow and just in case something were to go wrong, they would need to be prepared. They would try to do their best to make sure Aurora waurora was completely unaware of their plan, though they needed a backup in case something did happen.

Ember suggested that in case something were to go wrong, if Penny could get to Raven and make an escape, then they should go for it. Ember knew she could survive long enough to be rescued was Raven was safe and far away but Penny refused to risk it.

Even if Ember could elude them, it was still a huge chance to take and it was not worth the risk. They all have to leave at the same time.

" I am not risking anyone's life here. If we go about this in a smart way then there will be no issues. And besides that, I'd never leave you behind" Penny placed her hand on Ember's shoulder.

" I'm just saying that if it comes down to me or her, choose your mom. She is gonna be needed here way more than me" Ember says calmly, knowing that eventually the circumstance could lead to this but that statement only frustrated Penny.

" Why are you talking like that? I'm not going to one of you..I'm choosing both" Penny explains as she pulls Ember to her, hugging her tightly again.

" And don't ever try and make me choose because the answer will always be all or nothing" Penny asserts as she pulls back from Ember who seemed to still not be keen on this display of stubbornness.

" You are such a hard - head " Ember smiled, as she peered deep into Penny's eyes who was also matching her gaze with, what Ember could only describe as a sense of longing.

" I.." Ember started to say something but was blocked off by Penny leaning forward and kissing Ember deeply, before Pulling away, not giving Ember the time to even process what had just taken place.

" Penny..what the hell" Ember moved back from her a little which seemed to upset Penny. But as they stared at one another, now finding themselves in the most awkward of situations, Raven bursts through the door.

" We have to move tonight"
