Chapter Seventy Four: The World's Aid

Ember raised her hand into the air once again, and as she did so, a small passage on the wall, began to open.

" As I have said, there is something else that I must show you" Ember once again, motioned for them to follow and they did as she asked, though now with a sense of eagerness to discover what else the chambers had in store for them.

However, As they ventured even further below the palace, they discovered a darkness, a sickening energy that is beyond anything that had ever quote experienced before.

" Where are you taking us? " Penny asked as the air began to thicken yet again, almost suffocating as a deterrent.

" I know the both of you can sense the energy down here. And it is disheartening. But you should both know that this is a part of the energy that both of your ancestors have dealt with extensively. And whilst, this is not anything close to your own energies, it will answer some of your questions" Ember leads the two downstairs and then, it was apparent as to where the energy was coming from.

A giant hole, stretching very wide, rested within the center of the room. A red glow, seeped from the pit and though it did not seem dangerous, it felt as though there was more than enough mystery to last a million life times.

" This feels familiar" Raven approaches the pit, passing by Ember and looking down within it to see nothing at all. She knew that she recognized the power that emanated from within and yet still nothing appeared. This made very little sense though as of recently very few things did.

And though she knew Ember probably had the answers she wanted to try to discern them for herself to the best of her ability.

" So what is this? " Penny asked.

" This is the energy of the world. The magic that allows this land and many others to exist. This is where life is born and life ends. This is the beginning and the end. This, is the purest form of energy from the world itself and the easiest of access that we have to it" Ember explained.

" So this is the energy from the world itself.." Raven continues to gaze down into the pit.

" Well the one thing that I can be certain of, is that I've met this energy before.." Raven then turned back to Ember who looked on with a peaked interest.

" You and this Pit share the same energy. I wonder what that could mean.." Raven pondered for a moment.

" Would it be safe to say that you are a creation from the world itself..directly...a child from the dirt? " Raven asked intently as Ember approached the pit and glanced down into it.

" As I've told you, I don't know what I am. But I have stumbled upon the same realization that you have..that me and the world share the same energy. And that fact, whilst puzzling, is not as puzzling as the fact that the only ones who ever worked with that energy, is your ancestors.." Ember brought up a very valid and interesting point that had Ravens mind racing with possibilities.

" So you do care.." Raven smiled at Ember, finally catching on to Embers unspoken request.

" I'm sorry, what? " Penny turned to Raven, not being able to completely follow the train of thought.

" Ember has not been lying. She truly doesn't know what she is. But..she does know that our ancestors dabbled in the energy that she came from and since they are no longer around..perhaps we could unlock the key to her exisistance" Raven smirked wider, confidently.

"Is that not correct? "

Ember said nothing to confirm nor deny Ravens theory but her silence had almost spoken a thousand words. And now Penny began to make the connection and understand what was being asked of them.

" Ember..I'm not truly sure if that is what you are asking of us. But if it is, then of course we would help you. Despite the differences we have been having...I would still do anything I can to help. And if there are secrets within the energy then I'm sure we can figure it out.." Penny looks to Raven for assurance.

" I...think we would be able to possibly discover quite a bit from the energy but to discover your origin or what you are..that would be far more difficult..." Raven knew that there was still much to be learned about the history of the Witches, but to take on a task of this magnitude would be rather difficult.

" This magic is ancient, and it's something that would take us lifetimes to understand completely. But if you would like, I will do what I can to figure out your origin though, I do have a theory.." Raven raises to her feet and walks over to Ember, placing her right hand over the right eye of Ember.

" Your energy channels through your eyes, that much is evident. And that would explain why you are able to see the things that you have seen" Raven began channeling her energy into her own hand, that now covered Embers eye. As this took place, a strange assortment of red bright lines began appearing all over Embers body. This was strange and made Penny approach to get a better look.

" What are these markings..? " Penny asked as Raven continued to direct her energy towards Ember.

" The language of the world..the dead tones, the silent tongue..and yet the roar of a millenia" Raven removed her hand from Ember and as she did so, the Lines began to fade.

" You are definitely a child of the world. But you are not awakening completely. And that is because the time has not arrived for you to awaken" Raven looks back down to the Pitt as Ember tries to regain her composure.

" But you will awaken, when the times comes. The world moves for Noone but itself and it knows when to move and when not too. We can search for the answers, and we should come pretty close.." Raven turns back to Ember " But your answers are mainly going to come from within yourself. Of that I can assure you"

Ravens words stuck within Embers mind, and yet, instead of finding comfort, he found herself being more upset.

" Well, to answer your questions..I don't want answers..I don't need them. what I needed you to see was that the world and I are connected. Saving the world might mean saving me, and that is what is at stake. And that is why I'm making sure we all understand that there can be no mistakes here.." a silence fell among the group, knowing that no matter what they did, they would have to be united upon leaving this room.
