After her previous altercation with the princess, Ember knew she was going to have to be careful with whom she trusted. There was no reason that the princess could have possibly known about their plans without someone talking. Though the only people that have imprisoned what's herself and the two others that she could trust. It would be simple enough to chalk this up to magic itself and that perhaps she had found a way to weasel herself in to their conversations though whilst the easiest answer, It did not seem like the correct one. Someone had turned on them though the answer is to who that would be, What's currently shrouded in mystery.
And whilst her primary focus was to oversee the future of the child and to ensure her safety she now had another threat. There would be no way that Aurora would trust within the decisions that were made by Ember. She would do anything and everything to ensure that she would be allowed to remain on the throne as that seem to be the most important thing to her. Her people were prospering though, And this was enough to safeguard her reign. This was enough to ensure that she would safe for the foreseeable future.
And though she hated to admit it, even Khalivar had his place here. A man that would grow to eventually be able to redeem himself in many ways by the love that he shared for his daughter. I love however that would forever be tainted by Aurora's actions. Ember knew all too well what would need to be done and she had planned to do it.
She would first, need to maintain constant vigilance over Aurora until Kara had finally been born. From that point, she would need to ensure that Kara would grow, and would stay as far away from Gabriel as possible. And should the need arise, she would intervene in order to make sure that this were happen.
Though, the longer the time that was spent within the palace, the more Ember began to see the deciet that stained the walls. This place had a sickness from within, and it was never the forbidden magic. It was the superiority that all witches felt over everything else that exisisted. Bonding with Humans so that they could control them. Allies with Vampires so that they would fall in line. Starving the Lycans so that they were too weak to fight back. This place made Ember sick. And the people were equally disgusting. For every good Witch, there were a thousand horrible ones.
Millions of times, Ember had watched this Kingdom rise and fall. Crushed time and time again by the same mindsets and the same people. And this time, should be different and yet she found it hard to have hope.
Ember would spend time with Aurora for as long as she could stomach and then would retreat to various places so that she could cease the pain within her heart and mind. Her development of the child had come rather nicely however, and the child would be born soon. This child, the child that would hold the key to the world's salvation as predicted by so many before her own mother's time..would also be it's greatest weakness.
Aurora, seemed to take delight in the role of being a mother. She often spent hours laughing with Khalivar and debating on how best to raise her. Often mocking that Ember would be her protector and that she would be safe to rule for thousands of years.
But Ember, did not find delight in this task whatsoever.
" Do you think of me as a joke? " Ember questioned Aurora as she sat upon her bed, rubbing her belly as she often did.
" I do not think of you as a joke. I am simply delighted that the world sees fit to ensure my child's safety" Aurora chirped back.
" Because if I don't, your child will grow to become a damn nuisance. Just like you have been" Ember barked back.
" My child is not bad. I can feel it. She is pure hearted, is that her heart is to be tainted by another" Aurora tried to defend Kara but she also knew better.
" Yes, because this is the fault of others and never your own. And this is the problem with your kind. Never taking responsibility, and always placing it on others so that you can continue your kingdom of ignorance and control" Ember was unfuriated at the candor from Aurora.
" You told me that my child was needed within this world. That her exisistence went far behind a marriage to a Lycan. And it is you that told me that her and that child, would bring doom to the world. And it is you who told me that they were chaos incarnate. You told me all of this, in hopes that I would go along with your goals and so I have. But if you truly believe that Kara would be such a problem, then you would not allow her to remain alive. And this tells me that somewhere, deep within yourself, you believe Kara is the answer. Not Penny and Not Raven, but Kara " Aurora had respect for Ember but she would not continue to take the bashing of her entire people as well as her unborn daughter.
" What I know is that Kara is a good leader. She is better than you. And what I know, is that Gabriel will be just as good as Kara. And that the both of them together, would be hell on this world. One is not better than the other, one is not more important than the other. And do not mistake my words, I had tried to aid them both. I gave them every opportunity to correct their mistakes. To walk away..and they chose not to. Because of Love. And that is why we are here, again. So do not take offense to my words as though I am singling you and Kara out because I am not. But make no mistake about it, That they are both at fault and that your parenting has a big parthat's why they make the mistakes that they make. If you could see past your greed, If you could see past your own visions of what you want then you would understand what the world needs! What I need! " Ember was now screaming at the top of her lungs.
" I WANT THIS TO BE OVER. I WANT IT DONE" She screamed.
" Then why not just end it your damn self " Aurora shouted back in protest.
" Because I can't"
