Chapter One Hundred Three: The Thorn Removal

Though it had taken some time, Lysette and Shawn had managed to track down the Thorns encampment, located within a small woodland.

Shawn and Lysette spent some time, watching the encampment, gathering Intel on the numbers they would have to face and determined that if they moved fast, they would be able to handle them. Working their way through the numbers is one thing, but they would need to eliminate the leader. A leader, whom was kept hidden from most. Though many had their theories, Lysette never bothered with the speculation though.

" When do you want to make a move?" Shawn questioned. " We will move now..better to get this over with" Lysette felt she had planned enough for what they would be facing and felt as though she was more than capable of handling this with Shawn at her side.

Approaching fast, Lysette and Shawn leaped over the first wall, followed by the second and third before arriving at the first line of defense. A few dozen Thorns stood in the way and with a viscious ease, they desposed of the first wave.

Lusette and Shawn continued fighting through the lines, Lysette slashing her claws through flesh whilst Shawn blasted hundreds away with one swing of his Scythe, thinning the numbers more and more by the second.

Eventually, Lysette and Shawn managed to dwindle the numbers down enough that they could have free reign to scower over the camp. They found a central hut, a rather large one that had drawn the most interest.

" If the leader is here, then he would be in that hut" Lysette pointed out.

" I hope they like knock knock jokes" And with that quick quip, Shawn swung his scythe, slicing the front door in half.

" Crap..I didn't knock " Shawn signed in dissapointment within himself as Lysette rolled her eyes, walking into the hut. At first, they saw nothing of interest but when they came to the last room, they found something that confused them both.

Inside the room, sat a small girl, around 2 or 3 years old. Though they wanted to approached, they assumed that this could be a trap and remained cautious. However, as they stood in the door way, they heard a voice, creaking from the dark corner of the room, sounding old and sickly.

" You are here to kill me.." The voice called out. " I am the leader of the Thorns and don't worry, I don't plan to run" the voice sounded genuine.

" Who is the girl " Lysette questioned, still not being able to see the identity of the voice.

" Well that is where have come to an impasse. The girl, is important. And I would ask that you take her and return her to her people..the Lycans.." The voice began coughing violently.

" I promise you that this is not a trap. The girl, belongs with her people" the voice assured.

" Who is the girl? Who are her parents? " Lysette questioned again.

" Her parents? That would be the King and Queen.."

Both Shawn and Lysette were in complete shock, there was no way that this child could belong to the King and Queen.

" We know for a fact that the King and Queen only have a single child whom was just born" Lysette argued.

" Take the girl back..and you will find out the truth.." The voice chuckles.

" But who are you? " Shawn now questioned, scythe at the ready.

" Who I am, does not matter. I soon will be dead. I will soon be a part of a bygone Era that has to be erased so that the world can move forward" he explained.

" And if you value your ability to step into the new world, with a clear concious then I suggest you take the girl and leave. The Thorns will no longer be an issue. In part, because you killed most of us and also because our job Is done" The voice called.

The girl, whose hair was as dark as night, and whose eyes glowed green in the darkened room, sat innocently.

" Lysette..get the girl" Shawn advised. Though cautious, Lysette approached the girl and scooped her into her arms, quickly gazing to the corner of the room and then dashing out of the room, Shawn following behind closely.

" What did you see in there? " Shawn asked Lysette as they made their way from the hut and toward the Kingdom.

Lysette remained silent, carrying the girl with her.
