Chapter One Hundred Thirteen: The Reassurance

Silence fell over the Trio, Keera had taken a seat on a small bench and clenched her head in between her hands. She tried to gather her composure but found herself struggling more and more. Penny took notice of this and sat down beside her in hopes that she could provide a word of comfort to her, though she herself was still struggling.

" Don't blame yourself for what happened. Looking back, there is no way you could have known about what was going to happen" Penny forgave Keera but she also knew that Keera was more shaken by the fact that her entire life had crumbled within such a short time. By her own arrival, she had in a way, destroyed her life.

" I don't know what I'm suppose to even do now. I don't know how I could possibly fix all that I've done. Not just to you, but to the Vampires" Keera tried her best to hold back her tears.

" What do you mean? You didn't do anything to the Vampires? " Penny questioned. It was the King who had committed the evil deed, and that was something Keera didn't need to put on her own shoulders.

" The King was cruel..far more cruel than I realized. And it makes me wonder if it's only his enemies that would suffer his wrath..or even his own people. And..I could have been the last line of defense for them" Keera was considered the most capable and strongest fighter within the Vampire Kingdom and without her, the people would not be protected.

The Vampire guard was capable, but also vicious, and had to be reigned from causing trouble for people. There had been so many times where if she had not intervened, there would have been a significant loss of life and chaos within the Kingdom.

" Its not your fault if he does do horrible things. And sure, you were there to protect the people but, you have us now. And we will do what we can to ensure their saftey" Penny assured as Shawn walked over, overhearing the discussion.

" We will do what we have to do to make sure that they are safe. But right now, you being here with us is what is needed" Shawn smiles, staring down at Keera who glances up to see the skeletal head, and shivers from the shocking sight.

" Whatever you need, I will do" Keera promises.

" Good, now go into the city and try to relax, walk off the frustrations. We might be here a little while and there is no point in sitting around, stirring in the bad feelings" Shawn motioned for the two to head outside and they reluctantly agree to do so.
