Chapter One Hundred Seventeen: The Mothers Secret

Lysette made her way back to where she had left the others and found only Shawn remaining.

" Where are kids? " Lysette questioned, taking notice of their absence.

" I sent them into the city to relax for a little. Did the girls parents take everything well? " Shawn had no ill will bore towards the Lycans or the Royal family. But he knew all to well that the politics within the Underworld was something he never wanted to be wrapped up in.

Thankfully, in Outworld, his home, he was able to find peace among his family for the most part. Shawn was a prince, and the heir to his fathers throne. He was a Nightslasher, the keepers of the eternal prisoners. Those who had violated the any world's unforgivable laws. Since the beginning of time, every world, Earth and the Underworld for example, had its own set of rules. Though every world was sentient in its own way, they still had rules that existed beyond them and their own control that was enforced by the Night Slashers.

Their name. Came to them from other world's who had witnessed their great power. Equipped with specialized weapons given to them at the first age of maturity, personalized to each individual NightSlasher. It was said by those in the Underworld who had witnessed their great might, that the Night Slashers could, with ease, tear through the universe, space and time all with one single stroke of their blades. They exisisted beyond the realms of law both worldly and unworldly.

Their creation was something of a debate between all who knew of them.

Some said they were born from the need for vengeance from the wronged. And some believed that simply always existed. That nothing came before them. Though even among us his own people, Shawn and the other Night Slashers had no real idea or concept of where they came from. Though, this also mattered very little to them so research was never properly done.

One thing was true about Night Slashers aside from their great power, they could love and pain. Shawn had felt this more than most during his own struggles. The things he had done and now had to live with, knowing that nothing would ever be able to change the stains on his heart, broke him in many ways. Though, his bubbly personality always managed to bounce him back into the saftey of knowing that Noone would ever worry for him. People worrying for him, would only bring him hurt.

" Everything is fine for now. I will now be training the girl and she has to take Gabriel's place as the rightful heir" Lysette felt defeated and dissapointed in her family.

" Yeah I guess that makes sense" Shawn shrugged. " So are you not going to ask?" Shawn's question stirred Lysette slightly.

" Ask what? " she questioned.

" About how Raven is still alive..? Is Noone going to ask me that? Sheesh " Shawn knew that Penny had wanted to know the answer but it was not quite time for her to know the truth yet. He wanted to bond with his daughter more than anything but he also knew that he had to keep his composure. Certain things needed to take place and he was not to interfere with it whatsoever.

" You said she was alive? I will admit, I'm a little perplexed. Though, I would assume that the Raven whom was killed was not Raven at all. And was simply an illusion. The Question is, was it you, Raven, or someone else who made the illusion? " Lysette had suspicions for a while about Raven but she couldn't quite place what didn't feel right about her. And Shawn's knowledge and interest in the issue only made things more concerning.

" Well, if you must know, I had nothing to do with it" Shawn smiled happily.

" Where is the real one? " as Lysette asked, a familiar voice was heard from being her.

" I am right here" it was Raven. In flesh and blood, looking about the same as she did before but slightly older than the version Lysette had met in this life.

" So it was you? " Lysette hoped.

" No, it wasn't me either. We noticed it, watching from afar, as we promised we would. And, we decided to see how things played out" Raven answered.

" So then was this an illusion made by Aurora?" The only other person that could have made such a powerful illusion as well as one that could last as long as that would have been Aurora based on Lysette's experience.

" That's kind of what we've been assuming. It was a way for Aurora to keep an eye on Penny and I guess that plan didn't work out all that well" Raven explained.

" That girl though, Keera? She seemed rather interesting.." Raven added which made Lysette roll her eyes.

" Yeah but I have a feeling that it's just going to lead to even more drama and confusion than we already have. No offense but your daughter is extremely immature when it comes to emotions" Lysette sighed.

" Well so is your nephew.." Raven chuckled as Shawn looked on, placed his hands behind his head

" Trust me..I know " Lysette Sighs even more. She had never been one for drama and tried her best to stay in the background and help when needed but with the life she had, and her family..it was practically impossible.

" So Penny can't meet Raven yet..and she can't know about the things we have talked about here. We have to keep things as private as possible for now" Shawn pointed out.

" I will not say a word but if you plan on watching from the background then I would suggest you watch over the Ember girl as well. You know who she is and you know that if we don't play this right..this could get very bad..very quickly" Lysette was worried about the connection between Penny and Ember. Ember was exceptionally powerful and at any point, could decide for a reset. The world wanted the resets to end but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be willing to take another if it got scorned somehow.

" Are we have definitely been watching. We know it's a risk but we trust that our daughter is going to do whatever it takes to ensure that the world does not have to reset. We do believe in her" Raven assures despite having concerns herself about Penny's maturity. In truth, If they had all been extremely concerned that this whole situation could be another Kara and Gabriel problem. Something they were going to great lengths to avoid.

" Good, because I am getting tired of all this. It has to stop" Lysette relents.

" We know, we are just as tired. And we are doing whatever we can from our side to make sure that everything goes according to plan" Raven smiles and then seems to back off suddenly. " I need to go. Something is happening " And without explanation, Raven dissapears leaving both Shawn and Lysette concerned.
