Chapter One Hundred Eighteen: The Glass

It didn't take long before they managed to find a tavern where they could get a few drinks. Penny had never really properly drank before so this would be a new experience for her all together. Though, after the day she had endured, she was excited for the new experience.

Keera walked in first and ordered the drinks whilst, Penny took her seat at the bar. " So I don't know how you'll be able to handle yourself. So we are going to start you off with something simple" Keera motioned for the bar tender who brought the drinks over and after a few sips, Penny could already feel herself calming down a little.

" I'm sorry I screamed at you" Penny apologized " I don't know what Ember was thinking. We talked about things in the past..but it didn't really go anywhere. And she has never been like..I don't know..like that. I want to move on though because I know that it's never going to happen. I want to be happy. I know I have to focus on the goal but I also want to be happy..not just with myself but also with someone. But it's hard. Because Kara set a standard for having an important responsibility and allowing love to stand in the way" Penny confessed as she took a sip of her drink.

" I wouldn't put that on you though. You aren't her..you aren't anyone but yourself. And you make your own choices. You can love and do what you have to do" Keera tried to assure.

" Simply focusing on the goal is something that would probably prevent alot of problems in the future but at the same time, it does mean that you are alone. I don't know. I suppose just let things happen as they may with love, whatever comes your way, just embrace it? " Keera wasn't someone who had focused on love before. So giving advice was never going to be something she would be efficient in.

" I don't want to focus on her anymore" Penny finished her drink and then ordered her another, whilst Keera hadn't finished half of hers.

" Then don't! Focus on something else that makes you happy and brings positivity to your life" Keera smiles and drinks.

" I don't know what makes me happy anymore " Penny takes the drink the moment it was placed down in front of her and begins drinking again.

" Well, I'm sure you'll find something eventually. For me, it was being off by myself and helping others" Keera confessed.

" That seems like a confliction" Peeny smirked and laughed a little to herself which confronted Keera that the conversation was productive to some degree.

" Well, I'm a walking contradiction. I help people but love to stay in the shadows. I'm a Witch but I stayed with Vampires. But somehow I make it work" Keera turns to Penny who is working on her drink.

" And for what it's worth, despite why I'm here, helping you makes the most sense to me" Keera smiles and places her hand on Penny's shoulder. " I'll do whatever I can to help you. I can't promise to fix all of your problems but I'll damn sure give it my best shot"

" You would be better off just running" Penny puts her drink down and stares down into the glass. Though she didn't want Keera to leave, she knew it might be for the best. If she were to grow attached, She feared that she would be let down all over again. Is that her emotions would get confused because in truth, Penny blamed herself more than she blamed Ember for all that it transpired. She knew she was making irrational decisions but she also wanted to follow her heart. Though now she felt as though following her heart was probably the most immature thing she could possibly ever do. She was in conflict with herself but luckily this was something that Keera could understand.

" I've already told you that I'm not going to run no matter what. You are stuck with me now and we're gonna have to fight alongside one another. I don't care what happens, I promise that I'm going to do whatever I can to be there for you" Keera's grip tightened on Penny's shoulder.

" Yeah..so you say " Penny scoffed, which shot through Keeras heart like a flaming arrow. She could feel nothing but pain from that comment, from that doubt. She wasn't entirely sure why it hurt her so badly but it did nonetheless. And despite that hurt, She would not surrender. She would maintain her promise and do whatever it took to ensure that penny was happy.

" I'm sorry " Keera let go of Penny's shoulder and turned back to her glass.

" Yeah..I'm sorry too" Penny sighed as she finished her drink.
