It took a while but Keera managed to clean herself after being offered a place to bath by one of the locals, she also managed to get a change of clothes whilst Penny stayed outside the home with her father, waiting for Keera to finish.
" I am not going to lie to you..that was pretty funny" Shawn chuckled as Penny layed down on the ground and groaned loudly.
" I don't feel better" Penny groaned, as she tried to wipe the snot and tears off of her face with the sleeve of her shirt.
" I feel like poo" Penny cried which made Shawn laugh even more. " Well, that is to be expected" Shawn sat down on the ground beside Penny and placed his hands on his knees.
" I know things have been really bad for you lately. I know I haven't been there for you in your life. And I know that you are here to prevent the world from reseting. But I want you to know, I love you" Shawn's words sank through Penny's heart and eased some of her pain.
" You don't know me. How can you love me? " Penny cried.
" You are my daughter. I held you when you when you were just a baby before you were sent to Earth. I remember you being so incoccent at the time, while the world was falling apart. And I knew, that I loved you. I loved you more than I could ever love anyone. I will always love you. And nothing will ever change that. And whilst I couldn't be there for you before, I am here for you now" Shawn knew she would barely remember this conversation but he knew this would not be the only time he would say those words to her. He would never be out of her life again, he made that vow to himself long ago.
After a short moment of silence, Keera stepped out of the home, thanking the Lycan for allowing her to change and bath and noticed Penny on the ground.
" Oh..she still isn't doing so good? " Keera looked down at Penny who simply stared up to the sky, seemingly fading in and out of consciousness.
" Yeah I don't think she is gonna sober up anytime soon" Shawn Sighs as Penny closes her eyes and begins snoring.
" Well, I guess we should get her somewhere a little more comfortable. There is no way she needs to stay out here" Keera leans down and scoops Penny into her arms and looks to Shawn. " Should I get her a room or do you have somewhere I can put her? " Keera questioned and Shawn shrugged.
" We should probably rent a room? " Shawn smiled, his giant toothy smile which always made Keera uncomfortable.
" I think I saw an inn somewhere down the street" Keera pointed out as they began making their way back up the street.
" So you are a night Slasher? " Keera asked, trying to make small talk but being more than curious as she had never seen one before. Most people rarely witnessed a night Slasher and yet their features were quite distinct. If nothing else than the skinless face.
" Some people would call me that" Shawn replied.
" Well what do you call yourself? " Keera questioned.
" I call myself by name. And sometimes I call myself " The Darkness" Shawn answered.
" Well..that's edgy" Keera rolled her eyes. This moment was almost unbelievable to her. Here she was, talking to a Night Slasher, a being that was feared and respected by every single creature in every single world.
" So you want to protect my daughter? " Shawn decided to keep the conversation going as Keera had managed to peak his interest.
" At first, we were just helping each other. And then I came to see her as a friend. And when I thought her mother was dead, I blamed myself. I can't fix all of her problems, and I know that. But I will do whatever I can to make sure she is safe. Because she is probably the single ounce of good that we have here in this world. And she deserves to remain good and to not be tainted by the chaos that we have all allowed ourselves to become a part of" Keera confessed. And Shawn found himself rather pleased with her answer.
" Though you may not completely understand it yet, Penny is the strongest being in this world and many others. She is a Night Slasher and she is a Witch. She access to enough power that if she wished, she could create another universe itself if she so desired. But she is still young and she has to learn. Having someone to Protect her, is good. But don't prevent pain from her. Because, she has to learn so that she can get stronger, smarter, and become everything she is meant to be" Shawn explains though Keera seemed bothered by his words.
" I know she has a lot of responsibility but I believe that she should be entitled to choose around destiny. I don't think that it's fair that she has so much responsibility put on her shoulders and is effected to just follow through on everything. If she makes mistakes then that's Okay and if she does things good and that's Okay too. When I say I want to protect her, I mean that I want to ensure that she will always have someone she can come too, and trust, and have help from when she needs it. I would never make her decisions for her, only advise" Keera Meant every single word that she said. She had nothing but the best intentions for Penny.
Shawn seemed to think on this for a moment and then smiled again. " I knew there was something I liked about you" he laughed. " You are smarter than most people here" he then came to a complete stop, and turned to Keera. " You always think ahead, and that makes you strong. You are like your sister, but with less evil intent" He looks to the door in front of them, it belonged to the Inn where they would be staying. Though Keera didn't seem to move. Shawn's comment seemed to strike some kind of cord within her.
" Please, don't compare me to her. Even if it's a compliment, don't compare" and with that, Keera turned and Shawn raised his hand ever so slightly, flicked his finger and the door swung open.
