Chapter One Hundred Twenty Seven: The Ancient Stranger

Since their last conversation, Ember and Aurora had found themselves in an awkward state of how to approach one another. Ember wanted to trust Aurora but she also knew better than to do so. Aurora wanted to be there for Ember and be trusted, but she knew she would have to prove herself even further. This would be a difficult task though because she had committed so many atrancies and in her past lives. Mistakes that Ember had watched time and time again.

Aurora wasn't sure how to go about what she would need to do however. She could continue proving herself to Ember although that might not be enough. It was a challenge that she would take on but worried about constantly.

As Aurora paced around her room, she did her best to focus on positive ways that she could impact Embers views on her. All the while, she made sure that Kara was being cared for, only stopping her pacing so that she could hold Kara during her crying fits.

" Where the hell is your father.." Aurora questioned. She had not seen Khalivare and quite sometime. It was as though he disappeared completely. She assumed that he may have been continuing his work with the guards though she had checked with them and they had not seen him in several days as well. She then assumed that perhaps he had been called back to his people though she couldn't understand why he wouldn't inform her of his departure.

A knock on the door, echoed through the room and as Aurora turned to the door, she saw Ember, standing in the doorway, looking rather distraught.

" I just want you to be honest with me " Ember walked towards Aurora and placed her hands on Auroras shoulders.

" I need to know that you are serious about helping us. And that this isn't about some selfish plan that you have" Ember added.

" I told you that I'm serious. And that I want to help. I want a better life for my daughter. And seeing how miserable she ended up even after my death..I can't let that happen again. Outside of that, the only other thing I want..is for you to trust me " Aurora, again, had a look that Ember felt was genuine. She was sincere and Ember breathed a sigh of relief.

" I just needed to hear that sincerity again" Ember confessed and her body finally relaxed.

" Well I'm glad I could help you..with that.." Aurora giggled. " I want you in my life Ember. And I mean past when all of this is over and the reset isn't needed" Aurora confessed.

" I'm always in your life" Ember answered.

" No No..I mean that I want you as a person..not as the ground we walk on..." Aurora had grown attached deeply to Ember. She wasn't sure if Ember would go back to being just the world or if she could keep her current form but she hoped immensely for the latter.

" I don't know if thats possible. To be in the form In now, takes alot of energy. I need to return eventually " Ember knew this news would sadden Aurora but she wanted to be as honest as possible in hopes to spare feelings.

" Well..if there is no way then I'll respect it. But..I want you to know I'm going to always want you to be able to speak with me..to be my friend..to have my back..and let me do the same for you. Harder to do when you are..well..not in the current form" Aurora was doing her best to be mature about the situation though her heart was slightly crushed at the news.

" I make no promises but I'll see what I can do for you" Ember knew what Aurora was asking was impossible but she would attempt to at the very least, visit her when this was all over.

" And also, I think there is something you should know" Aurora waved her hand through the air and a green energy began swirling around the room.

" I've been doing some digging and I think I know who that girl was..the girl who was with Penny" Auroras words caught Embers attention completely. Since she had first laid eyes upon the girl, Ember disliked and mistrusted her.

" I can't prove it, but I think she might be..well, not of this particular world. Well, she is as much as she isn't. Much like Penny, who was a part of the last reset but escaped, I think this girl Is similar. I think she came from the last life"

" How is that possible..the only one who got out was Penny" Ember was confused completely. She oversaw everything and knew that Noone else had lived. It made no sense.

" I don't know who it is. That is information that is beyond my grasp but I was able to see some of your memories of her and I noticed something, seeing her through your eyes, I noticed an Energy. The energy is very old and very powerful. Most people wouldn't even be able to see it. Even the Night Slashers would have trouble spotting it" Aurora explained.

" Then the energy doesn't come from here. I know of all energy that exist here and if it's so ancient that Night Slashers would have issues, then it can't possibly be from here. Which now has me even more concerned" Ember knew that this person being close to Penny would make this even more complicated.

" Well, if it came from another world, it existed here for some time during the last life. I have a really strong feeling about that. And if it's around Penny..we need to find out what exactly it wants. It could be good or bad. I know you don't like the person, but we might need to wait it out and see what happens before we make a move. If we went on the offensive then Penny could be harmed" Aurora made valid points.

" I know she is with her father now, so that is some level of protection for the time being but I don't want them being together for too long. The longer Penny stays around her..the more risks we are taking" Ember growls.

" Well, let's not ignore the fact that you are jealous of the girl as well" Aurora joked.

" Oh shut up"
