Another Midnight Hunt (III)...

The group arrived near the bridge without much hassle… The streets were practically empty except for a few Zombies here and there, and most of them met the same fate of getting crushed by Rika's military Humvee and the Hummer belonging to the Yozora household.

Kemono was driving the Hummer, which was in the front while the Humvee was following behind. Kemono was using her Reinforcement Skill to reinforce the vehicle. So, crushing the Zombies under the wheels wasn't such a big deal for them. Daichi asked Kemono to stop the vehicle in front of a tall building. The group finally arrived near the bridge and almost everyone gaped at the size of the horde.

The horde consisted of at least two thousand Zombies rampaging on the bridge… Daichi was already expecting a number like that, so he only grimaced. "Are we really going to go against a horde like that?" Yuriko asked from the back in a horrified tone. Yuriko had decided to board the Hummer, along with Daichi and his closest.

"Yes, the guns team is going to engage while the melee team will be protecting the guns team" Daichi answered back without missing a beat. Before boarding the vehicles, Daichi had divided the volunteers for the rescue mission into two teams, Guns team consisted of all the volunteers who used guns, while the melee team consisted of all the volunteers who didn't use any type of firearms.

So, obviously, the guns team was bigger than the melee team, not that Daichi cared. After answering Yuriko, Daichi turned toward Roberta. "You have suppressed all the guns, right?" Daichi questioned and Roberta simply nodded her head. Daichi had asked her to suppress all the weapons, even though Roberta hadn't been using a suppressor for her weapon, she had brought various types of firearm suppressors with her.

"Good" Daichi gave her a satisfied nod. Daichi jumped down from the car and the others quickly followed his example.

"Hahaha… Son, I love how you are taking charge" Kemono laughed loudly as she started to pat her son on the back. Daichi simply released a tired sigh… Why was his mom so boisterous?

"Yozora-senpai, are we really planning to go against a group that big?" Kohta asked in a worried tone as he pushed up his specs. The members who were in the Humvee also started to climb down from the vehicle and approach Daichi and his group. All of them seemed to be completely horrified over the prospect of going against such a large horde.

Thankfully, the Zombies were still busy carrying out their assault on the people trapped on the bridge. Right now, none of them could see the massacre but they could clearly hear the cries for help and the gunshots coming from the other side of the bridge. The police were probably trying their best to deal with the Zombies, but no matter how much they tried, they wouldn't be able to save the people trapped on the bridge.

"Yes, we are going to engage. We came this far and I am not going back without reaping any benefits" Daichi shrugged. Meanwhile, Roberta started handing over the suppressed guns to all the members of the guns team.

Aoba Kenji, who wanted to help the people could only stare in the direction of the bridge with a look of anguish on his face. Daichi glanced toward the man and internally sighed. He would be grateful if the man didn't try anything reckless. Right now, he was the only Electrician in the group and Daichi didn't want to lose the man due to his stupidity.

"Do not try to recklessly save anyone. If we are in a position to help someone, then we will do so" Daichi declared for the last time, then he turned back towards the bridge. "Everyone get in position" Daichi called out and slowly everyone got into position, their guns pointed toward the bridge. "Shoot!!" When Daichi finally gave the command, Roberta, Kohta, and Yuriko were the only ones who followed his command without missing a beat.

Kohta might have been quite weak and timid, but Daichi could clearly notice the changes. He will be growing into be a dependable fighter in the future, of that Daichi was quite sure. For a moment, Aoba and Tsukomo simply looked at each other, but they also joined in.

The Zombies at the back started to drop dead and even though the guns were silenced, they were still making quite a lot of noise. At least, from the perspective of Zombies. The Zombies at the back started to turn around and approach the group while growling.

Aoba and Tsukomo were absolutely the worst when it came to aiming, and even Yuriko was average at best. Kohta's accuracy seemed to be a lot better than hers, although his Skill might be helping him, his accuracy was better than the other three regardless. When it came to Roberta, credit where credit's due, her aim was absolutely the best.

"Daichi, do you mind if I go off and have some fun on my own?" Kemono questioned and Daichi inclined his face with a soft smile on his face. Kemono felt her hopes rising up.

"I refuse…" Daichi answered without losing the soft smile marring his face. Kemono almost choked after hearing the answer, sometimes her son could be such a spoilsport.

"There are too many of them! We can't keep up with their numbers!!" Yuriko screamed and Daichi had to admit that even with five gunners with assault rifles, they were going to get overwhelmed. Daichi glanced toward Roberta, the woman had a feral grin marring her face, she seemed to be enjoying herself. Roberta might be the best with guns, but Daichi wasn't expecting her to complain in the first place.

"Let's go and decrease their burden" Daichi declared while looking toward Kemono, Saeko, and Bella. Daichi simply didn't want Kemono going off on her own because he knew for sure that she would end up going overboard and she might end up collapsing the bridge for all he knew.

Kemono grinned excitedly and lunged towards the horde of Zombies with flames erupting from her hands. "She can handle herself, but let's stay close to her. I don't want her biting off more than she can chew" Daichi said while looking towards Bella and Saeko. After getting a nod from them, the three of them dashed towards the horde.

Daichi swung his trusty metal pipe and bashed in the head of one Zombie, while Saeko, who was right beside him, beheaded a Zombie with a simple swing of her Katana. Daichi's movements were completely untrained and animalistic, while Saeko's movements were like a form of practiced dance. The whole scene was pretty awkward, but at the same time, extremely effective, especially with Bella behind the two of them.

Bella flicked her hand and released a lightning bolt, creating a hole through an unfortunate Zombie's head. The trio slaughtered through the throng of Zombies with ease. Now that they were no longer receiving the notifications for the free Status Points, they were feeling slightly weird… Well, except for Bella, of course. She was feeling gleeful, happy, and ecstatic. Her mind… or what was left of it worked in a completely different manner.

Bella started to cackle in mad glee as she cleaved her way through the Zombies without much difficulty, but she was keeping an eye on her Lord too… She didn't miss even a second of her Lord's magnificence. The way he moved, the way he was crushing the heads of the Zombies, and the way sweat was trickling down his face was making Bella really wet… She rubbed her thighs together as she felt the wetness in between her legs increase.

Meanwhile, Saeko was beheading the Zombies with such grace that she was making it look extremely easy. Unlike Bella, Saeko was mild mannered and completely sane, so she wasn't cackling in mad glee, instead, she was grinning like a glorified villain, who was finally able to defeat the hero of the said story.

Unlike Bella and Saeko, Daichi wasn't smiling, grinning, or cackling. Even though he never had a normal family, his life had been quite normal until yesterday or the day before yesterday. Since it was already past midnight, he had no idea what term he should use. Daichi might have been trained by his mother on how to defend himself, but that didn't mean that he enjoyed fighting, but at the same, he didn't detest it.

Daichi only came here for only one reason, he came here to grind. He knew the necessity of growing strong and to grow strong, it was necessary for him to complete the Job requirements, only after that he could reach Level 2 and keep growing strong.

He might have a Summoning Skill, but that didn't mean that he had to rely solely on his Summons, even if he was going to have pretty dependable companions just like Bella. Daichi didn't want to just sit on the sidelines, he wanted to actively participate in the fights. If the Leader of a group wasn't strong, then his group wasn't going to be respected by anyone… Now, Daichi wasn't like a Young Master from a Cultivation World, but that doesn't mean that he would allow others to look down upon him.

Daichi swung his pipe to bash in the head of another Zombie, but much to his horror, the Zombie caught the pipe. When Daichi noticed that this Zombie's eyes didn't seem to be unfocused like the others, he couldn't help but curse inside his mind. He has finally found a Zombie which was not a Level 0.

"Fuck!" Daichi cursed loudly, as the Zombie swiped his free hand toward Daichi…
