11: Teleporting

"Tell me what I need to do now!"

"Okay okay! All you're going to do is join a sect to spy on someone,"

"Which sect, and who?"

"Whoever you want to spy on-"

"What!? Are you trying to raise me as a stalker!?"

"No no! Wait, it's to find The Immortal Spirit Technique! We suspect the Sun Empire has it!"

"And what if they don't?"

"It won't matter, we're already planning on attack them,"

"Wa? Why?"

The emperor sighed, "The Li Empire has to grow, but the Sun Empire has the most resources. We can't stay as the strongest Empire without enough resources,"

Wen nodded, "Then who will I spy on?"

"You can choose. The emperor Sun has 5 kids. The oldest, who is the crown prince, is training under his father, the second prince is also training under his father. The third princess, however, is in the Divine Sword Sect. The fourth prince is also in the Divine Sword Sect, and the youngest is just an infant."

"Do you have someone in mind, father?"

The emperor nodded. "It's best if you choose one of the two that are in the Divine Sword Sect because you're adept in the sword, nothing will seem too strange."

"Alright, do you have any... information on them?"

Clap! "Ah, correct, I forgot, here," The emperor handed Wen a small scroll of paper.

[ The third princess, Sun Qian | The fourth prince, Sun Yang. ]

"Um, why exactly am I going to spy on them for?"

"Hm, that's a great question... I guess you'll spy or befriend them to infiltrate the palace,"

"Eh? Why would I do that?!"

The emperor stood up. "Call me when you're there, good luck,"

The emperor walked away, leaving Karsten and Wen together.

"Your highness, His Majesty is signaling you should go now,"

Wen nodded, "I can tell,"

The butler handed Wen a small scroll, a pen, and a carved dragon, made of wood.

"The scroll and the brush pen which the emperor has a duplicate. Whenever you write on it using the brush pen, the writings appear on the other scroll. Whenever you need help or extra information or stuff like that, use this talisman."

"Ah, I see, thank you,"

"This carved dragon is a teleportation talisman. Although it looks like it's made of wood, it's not. Remember, this talisman can only be used thrice. And yes, this is the talisman you'll be using to get to the Sun empire."

Wen nodded, "Thank you,"

"Oh, I forgot to ask, do you have weapons?"

Wen checked his ring and reported, "I have a rapier, two sabers, plenty of daggers and knives, a broadsword, a longsword, two shields, and two scimitars."

The butler blankly stared at Wen. "No offense, Your Highness, but do you need that many?"

Wen shrugged, "I might need more later, as I am planning on mastering all swords,"

"..."

"Well... to activate the teleporting talisman, just think of a place and press its head 12 times..."

"Alright thank you,"

"Wait, use this image," A painting appeared in front of Wen, from Karsten's space ring. "This is the Divine Sword sect's entrance. Also, they're accepting disciples at this time so... good luck,"

The painting was more than special everything inside it was moving, as if it was a video. "Is this another talisman?"

"Correct. Please hurry, His Majesty is calling me."

Wen fiercely stared at the painting and pressed on the dragon's head 12 times.

"Ah and, try to wear a mask if it's allowed, it's in your space-"

* * *

"Line up! The Divine Sword sect is taking in disciples!"

"Line up!"

A warm atmosphere interrupted the cool air. 'I guess the climate is different than in the Li Empire?'

"Everyone, line up! Try your best, the Divine Sword sect will only take in 50 disciples this month!"

An announcer was standing on top of a tower's gates.

"Only 150!?

"That's preposterous!"

"Each sect only has around 20,000 disciples, so what the fuck are-"

Wen moved his body angle to look at what the front of the line was doing.

The line split into multiple other lines, all led to where a group of people was examining the people who wanted to get into the Sect.

Right now, Wen was at the very back.

"Ahh, damn it, I'll have to wait for a long time now..."

Wen checked his space ring. And meeting his expectations, a mask was in it. However it wasn't a full mask, it was a mask that covered his left side while the rest was shown.

Wen chuckled, 'If the mask shows only half of it, it's still the same as showing my whole face,' Though, he still wore it anyway.

'I guess I'll have to stay here for a long time...'

'System, How long do you estimate I'll be staying here in the line?'\

< The line seems to have started a few minutes ago. You'll most likely be here for a few hours at most. >

'Mhm? So, when will this examination stop? 5 days? more?'

< An average Sect entry exam lasts for 5 days to 7 days. Dependent on the circumstances, it can be more or less. >

Wen sighed before taking out his personal rapier from his space ring.

"Hey look, he has a space ring, he must be a rich person,"

"Most likely a noble from his robes,"

"What is his robes anyway?"

Wen's eyes widened, 'I forgot to change my robes!'

< Stupid, >

'What should I do system?'

< Stupid, leave the line and reenter after changing. >

'B-but, I'll have to stay in line longer!'

< Stupid, >
