Destiny

Upon reaching SCP-187's cell, SCP-GU411 finds the door is open and 187 sitting inside.

"Why is your door wide open?" SCP-GU411 asks.

SCP-187 chuckles. "Preferably so you didn't bust it down."

"I guess I deserve that. However, I really would prefer, for your safety, it remains shut." SCP-GU411 replies.

"Then shut it on your way in." SCP-187 responds, motioning to a chair.

Upon entering, SCP-GU411 closes SCP-187's door behind him. As he does, all cameras inside turn off, and he no longer feels like anyone is watching him.

"Sounds like I can get a little more comfortable." SCP-187 says, removing her blindfold. Her hazel eyes seem to be fixed upon SCP-GU411 with great pleasure. "You are one of the few beings I can look upon without witnessing death or some other horrific scene." She says with a happy smile. "And honestly, I have not smiled this much since I can not remember when."

"I am happy to hear that. Your eyes are very pretty, it is a shame they are almost always covered." SCP-GU411 replies, sitting down.

SCP-187 laughs. "Now don't start flirting with me. Iris might get jealous." She hangs her head. "Besides.. love does not work out for me.. the last man I took a liking to ended up being shot in the head."

SCP-GU411 smiles. "It was a simple compliment, no intentions behind it."

SCP-187 sighs sadly. "I suppose you wish to know what I see in your future?"

"I do." SCP-GU411 replies.

SCP-187 moves her chair closer. "I see a man, strong and brave yet also nurturing and wise, leading an army of untold numbers. The army is comprised of humans and SCP alike, united under his command. He seems to be commanding them forward, which they obey without hesitation, ready to lay down their lives for his cause."

"Can you see the enemy?" SCP-GU411 asks.

SCP-187 shakes her head. "Although you take to the front line, I can not see what may lay in front of you. All I know is that I do not witness your death." She leans forward. "Strangely enough, I can tell you the identity of some of your allies, if you should wish it."

SCP-GU411 shakes his head. "I can take a few guesses."

SCP-187 leans back. "You might be surprised, 682 for example. That beast is loyal to only one, and you certainly do not resemble a little girl."

SCP-GU411 thinks for a moment. "Perhaps it is time to arrange a new playdate between those two."

SCP-187 lunges forward, grabbing SCP-GU411 by his shirt. "Are you crazy?! Have you read the theory file?!"

SCP-GU411 cocks his head slightly. "You know I have, but how do you know about it?"

SCP-187 quickly retreats back a few inches, letting go, and looking down. "I.. may.. or may not have.. peeked at a researcher's notes.. and read ahead." She glances up. "Do you really want to test fate with a possible horseman of the apocalypse?"

SCP-GU411 shrugs. "I can fight a war, kill a plague, reverse a famine, and (or) cure a disease, but I can not kill the unkillable nor bring people back from the dead. Besides, If we are fighting the apocalypse, in your vision, then I would rather have both of them on my side."

SCP-187 smiles, propping her head in her hand. "There is that wisdom I mentioned." Her eyes glance over him quickly.

"Now who is flirting with who?" SCP-GU411 smiles.

SCP-187 chuckles nervously. "I am incredibly out of practice, and there is a dreadful shortage of reliable, practically unkillable human men around here." SCP-187 looks shyly down at the floor with a blushed face. "You really can't blame me for trying." She says, glancing back at him.

SCP-GU411 slowly stands, continuing to smile. "Well.. when I get around to straightening out my love life, you will surely know my answer."

SCP-187 stands slowly, taking a deep breath before walking towards him. "Well, for now..." She plants a kiss on his left cheek, pulling back with a smile. "Thank you for saving my life."

"You are welcome, SCP-187." SCP-GU411 replies gently.

"You may call me Jennifer." SCP-187 says softly.

"Okay, Jennifer. Likewise, you may call me Rocky." SCP-GU411 replies.

The cameras turn back on, moving to survey the scene.

"Looks like time is up." SCP-GU411 comments with a groan.

Jennifer looks around. "I will have to take your word for it. I can not see the cameras. It appears they do not remain in my room for much longer."

"Sounds like progress to me." SCP-GU411 says before turning to leave but looks back. "I have been asked to accompany you on your security walkthroughs. The purpose being is to detain the containment breaches quicker and without casualties."

Jennifer chuckles as she puts her blindfold back on. "Seems that the foundation is working in my favor at last."

"It is about time, considering the horror of your initial testing and the progress you have made personally." SCP-GU411 says cheerfully.

Jennifer crosses her arms. "I guess I can't be mad. I know almost as much about you now."

SCP-GU411 waves as he leaves. "Later then."

Walking out, he is presented with a radio and earpiece, by a passing guard.

SCP-GU411 immediately keys up the radio. "Ladies and Gentlemen, are you ready for another test?"

"What manner of test, Mr. *****?" A woman's voice comes across.

"I have a theory. I believe I can tame SCP-682." SCP-GU411 replies.

Laughter can be heard echoing through the facility.

SCP-GU411 heads straight for SCP-053's cell. "Laugh if you want. However, I expect you to agree to this plan and not interrupt me."

"Mr. *****, does your plan include a risk of containment breach?" The woman asks.

"15% chance." SCP-GU411 replies. "Nothing I can not minimize."

"We do need you to complete your personal testing before you will be allowed access, of this caliber, to SCP-682." The old man's voice commands.

"Agreed. I will be ready, I am not planning to visit SCP-682 anytime soon." SCP-GU411 advises. "Now who wants to open SCP-053's door for me?"

A buzzer sounds and the door unlocks and cracks open.

"Excellent, thank you." SCP-GU411 enters.

Inside, SCP-053 is coloring. She looks back and jumps up, running to SCP-GU411 and gives him a hug. Her expression is one of pure joy. "Welcome back! I hope you didn't get into too much trouble!"

"Nothing I could not handle. How are you today, SCP-053?" SCP-GU411 asks.

She looks up with a nod. "I'm doing great!"

"You do not have a name yet, do you?" SCP-GU411 asks.

SCP-053 looks questioningly at him. "No.. why?"

SCP-GU411 heels down in front of her. "Would it be okay if I gave you a name?"

SCP-053 eyes light up and she nods violently.

"How does Sophia sound? It would have been my daughter's name, had I ever had one." SCP-GU411 says with a gentle smile.

SCP-053's mouth slowly opens before speaking. "So.. So.. phi.. Sophia." She giggles. "I love it!"

"I am very happy you like it. You may call me Rocky." He says, holding out his hand.

Instead of taking his hand, Sophia lunges forward, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Papa Rocky!" She exclaims happily.

SCP-GU411 is startled by this, taking a moment before returning the hug. "You know, you do not have to call me Papa."

Sophia pulls back and looks him in the eyes. "You named me Sophia, a name intended for your daughter. In a way, you have adopted me."

"How do you know about adoption?" SCP-GU411 asks.

"I overheard a few children and parents speaking about it when I passed by a park, about three years ago. According to the parents' explanation, it sounded so wonderful! A parent that would choose the child, raise them, love them, and protect them. Despite this explanation, the children continued to use it as an insult, which I wrote off as foolishness." Sophia explains.

SCP-GU411 chuckles. "I think that is the most you have said to anyone."

Sophia giggles. "Because you are special."

SCP-GU411 smiles and then peeks over her shoulder. "What were you coloring?"

Sophia leads him over to her mess of papers. "I was drawing the big lizard!"

"You miss him, don't you?" SCP-GU411 asks.

Sophia nods, throwing out her hands. "He is like a big fluffy dog!" She stands on her tiptoes as she describes how big he is. "And he can talk! I have never met an animal that could talk!"

"He is one of a kind." SCP-GU411 chuckles.

Sophia hangs her head, sadly. "Last time I saw him, he got mad when I left. I didn't want to leave." She looks up at Rocky with tears beginning to form in her eyes. "Do you think I will see him again?"

SCP-GU411 pats her on the head. "I will see what I can do."

Sophia begins jumping in place. "Do you mean it?!"

"Yes!" SCP-GU411 responds.

Sophia skips around. "YAY!" She stops, runs to a cabinet, and pulls out a few items, returning quickly, she hands him a candy bar. "Here! I do not often share candy, but I think sharing with you should be fine!"

SCP-GU411 takes the candy bar and sits next to her as she continues to color and describe her work.

After a few hours, SCP-GU411 looks down and realizes Sophia is asleep. He gently picks her up and takes her to her bed.

"I feel like a father already." He thinks to himself, before exiting the containment cell. He then keys up his radio. "Step 1 complete. Please resecure SCP-053's door."

A buzzer again sounds and the door locks as SCP-GU411 walks back to his room. Upon opening the door slightly, the sound of metal dropping can be heard. He fully opens the door to see the club laying in the middle of the room, the walls dotted with strick marks.

SCP-GU411 groans, shutting and locking the door behind him. "I suspected as much." He walks towards the club, towering over it with an evil grin. "SCP-173-1, you will settle down and stop destroying my room, or I will have you melted down till nothing is left. Do I make myself clear?!!"

After a moment, he turns and walks towards his now shattered bed. As he does this, the club uprights itself and slowly returns, using each of the bent pieces of rebar like spider legs, to where it was placed near the door.

SCP-GU411 turns to sees it resting against the wall. "Glad you understand so well."
