Barely six days

So apparently I've been thinking I was going to get married to king Albert but in a real sense, I didn't even know who I was marrying. No wonder queen Charlotte didn't look a bit worried or unhappy about this marriage. She knew her husband wasn't my groom but why did they have to hide the identity of my husband. I mean it's not as if my father would ever care who I married.

Well back to my story, here I am in a room alone waiting for my said husband and prince Liam just walks in? What is he doing here?

"Prince Liam." I gasped "what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Well, I think I should be asking you that. This is my room, so what are you doing here?" He said with a glare in his eyes.

"Your room?" I almost blanched with fear. "I'm sure this must be a misunderstanding." I said.

"What's your name again? Nar.." He tried to recall but couldn't so I reminded him.

"Nardin." I said.

"Great, Nardin. I warned queen Charlotte to keep you away from my chambers. I don't know what your plan is with her but please get out..!" He said.

I swear he wasn't even finding my presence in his room funny and he was probably going to hit me if I wasted a minute to leave so I quickly ran away.

I ran through the hallway in search of the queen's chambers. The palace was so big and so I found it difficult to find my way out of prince Liam's chambers. Luckily for me, I ran into a servant who led me to the courtroom where the queen and king were discussing.

"Is everything okay Nardin dear?" The queen asked sweetly.

"No your majesty. Nothing is okay. Your son prince Liam is in my room. What is he doing there? And he claims the room is his." I said.

"Well, he's right princess. That's his room... And your room as well." King Albert responded.

"So what does that mean?" I asked hoping not to get the response my heart said I'll get.

"Prince Liam is your husband." The king and queen said at a go.

"What?" Okay let me be sincere here, I didn't know if I should be happy that I didn't get married to an old man but his son. Was I the luckiest amongst my sisters? But then prince Liam sounded and looked like bad news. I mean had he no idea his parents were bringing me? Did he have to let me see him making out with his side piece on our first meeting? Liam had no respect for the women around him. The queen seemed weirdly nice but did you see how she just dismissed her son's insolence? If he could talk to his mother like that then what about me?

I stood there staring from king Albert to queen Charlotte without saying a thing.

"Well, since you've both met I think it's time to go to sleep." The queen said.

"Sleep...!" I suddenly got angry "queen Charlotte your son sent me out of his room and you want to go to sleep?! How heartless can you both be?" I said angrily. I think these people just pushed my buttons. They were amazed at the way I spoke to them

"I will not have you insult me, Nardin Ryan." The king said and walked away.

"One of the servants will show you to the guest room. Sleep there tonight and tomorrow we will handle this." Queen Charlotte said and followed her husband.

Wow...! Just wow. What was wrong with the house of Eldrago? I don't think I can stay here for long. I may just have to die. King Albert has no remorse for bringing me here and Queen Charlotte? She just won't show her true self.

Like the queen said, a maid different from the previous maid that brought in my luggage and prepared my bathing water showed me to the guest room and I moved in there with my luggage. Almighty prince Liam already threw them out of his room so with the maid's help I picked them up and moved into the guest room. It was too long when I drifted off to sleep while worrying.

The next day, a different maid helped me take a shower and served me breakfast before I finally responded to the King's call in the courtroom.

When I got in there, prince Liam was seated there angrily. The enraged glare in his eyes made it clear that he was forced to be there.

"Oh yeah. Here the goddess finally comes." He smirked.

I completely ignored his sarcasm. "Good morning your majesties." I bowed as I greeted.

"Morning princess Nardin." The king responded. "Please sit." He added.

I nervously sat down under the annoyed stare of Prince Liam.

Before any of the Eldragos spoke further I started "your majesty the King and the queen. I sincerely apologize for speaking to you harshly last night. I was just so nonplussed that I.. I... Maybe I did..." I couldn't find the right words but the king quickly came to my rescue.

"It's okay my dear. I think I may have done the same if I were you." He said and looking into his eyes he looked sincere "what we did was fraudulent but I promise it's not something bad"

"Can you all stop being dramatic and tell me why I'm sitting here." Prince Liam said angrily.

"Liam, I'm sure I didn't introduce you properly to Nardin last night. Meet Princess Nardin Ryan of Zugato kingdom." Liam rolled his eyes until he heard the sentence.

"she's your wife." Queen Charlotte added.

Prince Liam shrieked. "What?! What do you mean? I never married her." He said.

"Well, she is your wife whether you like it or not. And she must move into your room the moment this meeting is dismissed." The king spoke with authority.

"You can't tell me what to do. I don't want anybody sharing a room with me." He said.

"I'm your king and your father so I will tell you what to do and you must obey without arguing." The king said as he smacked his hand against the table.

"But dad..."

"Liam my words are final." King Albert simply said.

It's not a doubt that sometimes Liam seemed disrespectful but honestly, he still obeyed his parents and had regard for their orders. He tried to change their mind about me but seemed their minds were already made up and so I had no choice but to move in with him.

Later that night I wanted to ask Liam some questions but he never came back. I stayed up till midnight waiting for him but he didn't return from wherever it was he went.

I was kind of happy about him not returning simply because I was still innocent and I wasn't ready to change that soon. I was simply terrified.

I stayed alone in that room for days as Liam never came back. I was served by different maids each day and each maid who served me suddenly disappeared and was nowhere to be found. I asked queen Charlotte severally why I couldn't get a personal maid but she always obviated the need for a personal maid, but in truth, I needed a friend.

On the fifth night of Liam's disappearance I sat on my bed wondering how my sisters were doing, were they still alive? Was there any possibility that I could still reach out to them? Then suddenly a drunk Liam made his way into our room with a different girl.

"My prince? You're back. Thank the lights." I said before I looked at the gorgeous and confident lady he was leaning on to. "Who's she?" I asked.

"She's my second wife." Prince Liam said.

I felt a dagger pierce my heart. We were married for barely six days and he already had a second wife? Whatever happened to consummating marriages? I know I wasn't ready but I deserved that respect as a wife whether I wanted to be in that marriage or not. Oh, lights.
