Clingy Kinrue

In a wide, clean and navy blue theme living room you can't hear a single noise except on the television, which Raven turns on a while ago. He's not watching. The only purpose of it is to lessen the awkwardness. He's sitting on the long navy blue sofa, scanning something on his phone while Kinrue is like a koala. She's sitting on his lap, legs wrap around his waist and hands on the nape. Buried her face into his neck while still sobbing. They are waiting for the food to come but until now she didn't want to let go even how many times he try to tell it.

After a few minutes of waiting, the doorbell rings that catch their attention. He's about to tell her to sit on the sofa but her grip tightened. Instead of arguing with her and made the other person wait, he carries her along with him. As the door opens, the deliveryman's eyes get wide out of surprise at what he saw. Raven notice it and frown, touching Kinrue's head lightly down so down so the delivery man won't see her face.

"Where's the food?" He asked, glaring at him.

The delivery man came back to his senses. "A-ah, here's your order, sir."

"Here's the payment. Keep the change."

He gets the two paper bags and closes the door, not waiting for the delivery man to leave. He feels annoyed at how he stares at this woman. A sigh escape from his mouth as he put down the paper bag on top of the center table.

"Elf, can you sit properly now? Let's eat." He said, but she shrug her head.

Raven tousles his hair out of frustration before walking towards the long sofa and puts Kinrue down, lying with her back. Since she's not letting him go, he uses his hand as a support to his weight. He gazes at her, who's about to cry again, holding tight on both of his shoulder with hands trembling. He notices the little reaction she gave so to calm her down, Raven caresses her cheek and smile.

"I'm not going anywhere. We need to eat."

"Hngg..." A tear fall down from her left eye. It made Raven sigh again for the nth time. He doesn't know how to calm her down anymore. This is the first time he encountered such person and almost did all viable things to do to calm a woman, but it seems like Kinrue is different. She feels anxious whenever there's no one around.

Another silence came between them. Raven looks somewhere while Kinrue stares at him with the tears falling down. The only sound you can hear is from the TV and her little sobs. It took a few seconds before he look at her again. She's not wearing her eyeglass, it adds to the awkwardness between. The difference between her with or without glasses is huge. If she wears a glass, it made her look like a nerd and innocent. Besides, you can't clearly see her eyes or the mole under the left eye. In contrast, behind those eyeglasses hides a beautiful almond chocolate eye. She has a single eyelid, long thick eyelashes and a noticeable mole. The most traits you can notice is with an eyeglass, there's a carefree woman who loves to laugh and act friendly but without it, there's a fragile woman who has a lot of pain and sadness. It's as if a chained woman inside a cage seeking for help and freedom.

He wipes a tear away before he lower down his face to kiss her on the forehead, down to the tip of her nose and last is on lips. It's a short, gentle kiss to reassure her he's there.

"Elf, I'm not telling you to let go, but at least loosen up so we can eat. Okay?"

"Hmm..."

It took a few minutes before Kinrue let go of him. He sits properly, heaving a deep sigh while shuffling his hair.

"Argh! I can't believe I'm pleasing a person," he said, mumbling to himself. He looked at her as he felt Kinrue cling to his arm, sitting beside in silent. "For d*mn sake, you can't even leave me alone for a single second."

"Hmm..." She looks at him with those quivering eyes, as if about to cry again. But he just tousles her hair and smile.

"D*mn it! What the hell am I doing? It seems like we're acting like an actual couple. Don't blame me for anything if you came back to your senses."

He prepares the food using one hand only, and they eat while watching some movies. She didn't cry anymore and focus herself in front while Raven was on his phone. Few hours passed, they finished watching two movies and Kinrue already fall asleep on his shoulder. Raven gets that chance to free himself and carry her back to his room. After tucking her into the bed, he went back outside to clean the mess in the living room and wash the dishes left since afternoon before taking a half bath and sleep. For the first time in his life, he felt tired for this whole day.

The next morning, Raven wakes up after hearing the alarm clock he sets last night. He's about to get his phone on the bedside table beside the lampshade, but there's something heavy on top of him. His senses awaken after feeling the déjà vu. It's the same scene from yesterday. He let out a sigh full of disbelief, massaging his temple to not get mad out of nowhere. It's Kinrue lying down on top of him again while sleeping.

"Do you have some strange habit like this since child?" He asked, but then heave a deep sigh and caress her hair down.

"Hmm..."

"You need to drink your medicine in time so I'll prepare a breakfast. Stay here and sleep more..." He said, putting her on the side.

Raven's about to stand, but Kinrue wraps his arm around his nape, pulling him closer. Before he can react to the situation, she bite him on the same part where he got bitten yesterday. He groan in pain and glare at her but it vanishes in a split of second after seeing her anxious eyes.

"Are you planning to mark me to the bone? It hurts, you know," he said, looking away.

"D-don't go,"

"You're still not yourself? The fever is almost gone,"

"Don't leave."

"How many times do I need to tell you I'm not going anywhere? I'm not leaving, okay? Sleep more. I'll wake you up later."

She let go of him and turn her back. He didn't waste that chance to get up and head straight to the bathroom to do some morning rituals, but after a few steps he stop, turning his look to her. 'I might be crazy,' those words run inside his head while walking back towards her side.

"Get up and face me."

At first, Kinrue didn't move, pretending not to hear anything, but in the end she sit down, crawling towards his side like an innocent baby wanting for attention. She looks up and met his gaze, but Raven caress the back of her head.

"Are you a baby? You're acting like a child."

"Hmm."

He laughs because of her answer. "A stubborn big baby."

A silence lingers between them but midst of it he notices the ring on her left ring finger. It's the ring he gave her after they made a deal. He didn't notice where he put the ring but didn't expect it to be on the ring finger. Without realizing, his hand move to touch her left hand.

"I heard you're a hopeless romantic queen, but I think you should be careful about choosing a man you'll fall in love with," he said. "You have an attractive face behind the eyeglass but an empty head." A short laugh escape from his mouth.

She wraps her arms around his waist.

"You little devil, since you cling too much on me since last night, I might choose this chance to blackmail you this time, right?" A smirk form into his lips as he reaches out for the phone. He scans something on his phone before looking back at her. "Here. Let's take a commemorable photo of this day, my little devil."

The time Kinrue looks in the phone direction, he didn't waste any second and click on the red button, taking pictures of them while she still hugs him. She looks like a puppy with those innocent eyes and messy hair. He's about to put down the phone but a naughty thoughts came out inside his mind. A brief smile form into his mouth while lifting her chin to face him and change from taking a photo into video.

"Hey, can you answer me some question, elf?"

"Hmm..."

"Do you know who I am?"

She stares at him for a few seconds before giving an answer. "R-Ribbit..."

"Who is Ribbit? I'm not your Ribbit." He said, caressing her cheek.

"No. You're my Ribbit. He's always with me wherever I go. My dad gives it to me."

"Is it an animal? A stuff toy?"

"A-A white rabbit toy. H-he's everything to me but..."

"But what?"

"I've dreamed of him vanish in front. I don't want it, but when I open my eyes my Ribbit is here. Don't leave me anymore."

"I see, but sorry to tell you I'm not the Ribbit, you know."

"H-huh? T-then where's my Ribbit?" Her voice almost crack and eyes get teary after hearing what Raven said.

"Well, what are you going to do? Let me go?"

"No."

"Why? You don't know me."

"W-who are you?" He smirk and lower down his face, an inch away from hers.

"I'm... I'm your boyfriend. Do you even know what it means?"

Kinrue didn't answer, rather stare at him with confusion. He wants to laugh because of her reaction but try to not do it.

"A boyfriend never leaves her girlfriend, not until they broke up. Do you want to break up with me since you already have Ribbit?"

She shrugs her head in an instant.

"Good. Since I'm a considerate and kind boyfriend, then give me a reward."

"What reward?"

"You need to kiss your boyfriend for a reward." He said. "Kiss here." He pointed out on his lips, still looking at how she reacts.

He thought Kinrue won't do it but in a split of seconds their lips touch. They both looking at each other, eyes that made Raven flinch and end the video. He put his phone on top of the bedside table and kiss her back. It took a few seconds before they separate, catching their breath.

"This side of yours really drives me insane. It's dangerous." He said, whispering to himself.
