Kinrue didn't know where to run anymore. The rain is still pouring down outside and she can't think straight but to run away. She's gasping for air, bump into other students in the hallway and heard someone calling her but never dare to look back. A lot of memories and voices keep coming inside her head. She couldn't help but shed a tear, her eyesight gets blur and slip on the floor. Rather than minding the pain and embarrassment, she stands up and runs down the stairs.
She's about to take another step down but saw another familiar face that made her stop. Her body trembles while taking a step back, shrugs her head.
"Kinrue Cienfuegos?" The woman emphasizes the words with a smirk on lips. "Don't you think it's time to stop running away? Why don't we talk a little?"
"N-no."
"Do you want me to tell everyone here your true identity?" She flinch and hesitated for a second, but her friend's voice lingers. For a moment she looks down, bite her lower lip.
"L-let's go somewhere."
The woman chuckle and lead a way and she follows without making complaints.
They stop in front of the music room. No one is inside besides them. She jolted out when the front door slam close. Even if Kinrue wonders why they are here, she couldn't ask or made a move to run away like what happened before. In front of this person, she can't do anything but act as a slave following her master.
"How many years it has been, Shenrue? Five? Six? It's been so long that I almost forget how you look like." The woman chortled, but she look away. "Thanks to someone we got your location. Did you have fun fooling around?"
She didn't answer her and wonders who told them her location if no one notice her true identity.
"You don't want to speak to your sister? Did we raise you like that? If Maru sees how you treat me and runs away like a scared cat, what do you think he'll do?" She walks in her direction and stops right in front.
The woman is her half-sister. She's Ruen Leigh Himura, a year older than her and has the same mother but a different father. No one knows the truth. The Himura Family hides everything about her true identity and pulls her away from his biological father's side. Ever since they separate the two, she didn't see her father or have news about him. It's as if his existence vanishes, but as the time passed, she couldn't even remember what her father looks like or his name. She was only 4 years old when the Himura Family get her and throughout the years all she do is study and made a name at a young age. Forced her to do a lot of things that she didn't want, got scolded and disciplined even in a simple mistake. She never once felt happy or welcome inside the family and the only thing his father gave to her, which is the white rabbit stuff toy, got burnt by her mother in front of her without a second thought. She got suffocated because of their treatment and runaway by the help of her nanny by hiding her identity. Later on that nanny got married, make her own family. She doesn't want to be a burden, so she insisted on living by herself and until now, they barely contact each other.
Living inside the Himura Mansion feels like living in a locked cage. She's like a weak bird who couldn't break out inside. Even if the bird breaks free from the cage, someone will come and shot it. She knows as soon as her brother came, it's the end of their hide and seek game.
"Shenrue, open your mouth and speak," she grab her jaw tight. "You should answer whenever I'm talking to you,"
"I-I'm sorry," she said, bursting into tears.
"You should be thankful that Maru didn't see you or else you'll get dragged and beaten up," she smirk and let go of her jaw.
Ruen step back and gives a short insulting laugh.
"It seems like you have fun in this little freedom you gamble to play. You made mother and grandfather disappointed. Even Maru and Dad couldn't believe and still in raged." She said. "Anyway, you have a quiet reputation here. Hopeless romantic queen? Troublesome idiots? What a bunch of useless names. Well, it's fine as long as you didn't taint the Himura's name."
Kinrue clenches her fists, trying to stop the raging emotion building up inside.
"Mom called before. It might be a good news or bad news to you."
"W-what do you mean?"
"She'll let you taste a little more freedom, finish your study here until the high school graduation and after that you'll go back to Japan. Don't dare to hide or Maru will drag you back without mercy."
She couldn't go against her and unconsciously nod her head.
"Enjoy the freedom you have because as soon as you come back, you'll be engaged to the son of the Rank 3 Elite Family. Cut all your ties. It's their condition."
"I-I u-understand."
"No one will watch you here, so enjoy until that day comes,"
Both of them look at the back door when it opens and saw the man from before. He has a poker face, stares back and forth between the two before heaving a deep sigh.
"Young lady, we need to leave now. They didn't cancel the flight anymore." He said.
"Oh, you must see each other before. It's the reason my little sister is running away. He's my new butler, Reito Miura. You've known him more than me since the two of you study and secretly play together a lot."
"Young lady, we need to leave because of the heavy rain. There's a 90% chance of traffic on the way."
"Fine. Fine. I thought you want to say hi to each other since it's been a long time."
She saw Ruen turn her back to her and walk towards the back door where Reito was standing. They gaze at each other for a second, but he's the first one to look away and open the door for Ruen. She didn't say a word and look down, waiting for them to leave.
"You should be careful about who you're trusting, Shenrue." Her gaze turns to Reito when he speaks. She's about to tell something but didn't continue and look away.
Ruen is right. Reito and her known each other for a long time. He always has the same poker face even while studying, playing, or comforting her. It's all the same, but his existence made her life a little easy. She's glad to see her only friend in that mansion but afraid because she knows how loyal their family is to Himura. Like her, he can't say no or go against them. They don't have their own freedom and bind in that way of life.
As the door close, both her knees tremble and she can't hold her balance anymore. She falls down and gasps for air, letting out all the tears about to fall earlier. It doesn't sink inside her mind what happened, but all she knows is the freedom she has is over. In one glimpse, they took it away. She can't help but cry again.
The Music Room is sound proof so no one will hear her outside. Little did she know that there's someone standing outside, watching her breakdown. The person didn't feel something besides of joy.
Few hours passed by so fast, Kinrue didn't attend her remaining class and stay inside the music room waiting for the rain to stop. Before she knew it, the bell rings, a sign that the class hour was over. She didn't hesitate to go outside and leave before the others can do. It's the second time she didn't know where to go. Amidst of the wet road, she continues to walk without direction with no money or phone.
The rain stop but the sky was still dark. Any minute the rain will pour down again if she didn't hurry. She doesn't want to go home or work, she might mess up. Now that she's in a tight situation, she doesn't know where to run and seek comfort. There's no one beside Camie and Ashley and she can't tell them about her situation because they hated Elites.
She stop from walking and laugh. People passing by look at her with creeps feeling but she didn't bother to care for them.
"I'm messed up, f*ck!" She said, shouting the last word with tears in both eyes.
Another few hours passed, she walk and walk drenched in rain, crying and laughing like a retard. She didn't even notice the time, and it's almost quarter to nine in the evening. In the end, she choose not to go home and found herself in front of Raven's house. She hesitates to ring the doorbells and sits in front with head bows down. Half an hour passed and the door open that made her turn. There she saw Raven standing in shock and behind him is Shenyue, Arisa, Renkai and Lewis, who stare at her.
"What the hell are you doing sitting like a beggar there, Kinrue?" Lewis asked out of disbelief, but she didn't talk and stand up, feeling ashamed.
"Didn't you know how to knock or even ring the doorbell?" Shenyue asked but still not answer and look down.
Raven frown when he noticed her drenched, looking paler and out of condition. She's a messed. He heaves a sigh, face palm himself.
"You, Argh! Go inside and take a bath before you can catch a cold again." He said.
Kinrue didn't move an inch and was about to cry again. Just hearing his voice makes her emotion burst. She feels like a child seeking for attention and comfort.
"Kinrue? Are you okay? Follow what Raven said and don't catch a cold again," Renkai looks at her with worry instead to answer she reaches for Raven's shirt helm and grips tight on it.
The four behind them look at each other but neither the two object nor show discomfort. Lewis and Arisa know their relationship, but Shenyue and Renkai are not aware of it.
"A-ah... We have to go now Raven, take care of Kinrue." Lewis tries to break the awkward atmosphere.
"Y-yeah, I'm sorry about this. She must be in a tantrum again. Take care on your way home."
They bid their farewell to them and Raven just wave his hand. As soon as they vanish from his line of sight, he looks towards Kinrue with annoyance.
"What's wrong with you now? This is not your home."
