Trying to be a Good Girl

The lunch break came, but Kinrue didn't come back or attend any class. Her friends already search on every potential place she's in, but they do not see even a shadow. She's really mad. It's the first time they saw her walk out in defeat. They didn't even know what to say or how to coax her. On the back of the school building, Raven walk back inside after taking a call from someone but he heard a rustling sound behind the green bush. There's an old tree near it and the rest is green bushes. It's near the high fences. He's about to ignore it but heard a sniffle.

In the end, he becomes curious and sees for himself what's behind it. But his face turns in poker face as he saw Kinrue crouching like a child, hugs both limbs. Mirko told him that her friend was searching for the woman and she didn't even attend the class. But here she is, acting like a child in a tantrum.

"Elf, what are you doing acting like a childish fool there?" he asked. She looks up to see who's behind instead to answer she rolled her eyes. "Are you still mad?"

"Isn't it obvious? Why the hell are you here? Go, scram bastard."

"Hey,"

"Go away, I hate seeing you!"

Raven didn't talk again, but he didn't leave either. It seems like he's thinking about how to coax an empty-headed elf like Kinrue in the easiest way she can understand. And after thinking for a few minutes, he walk towards the bushes and stand in front before crouching down to face her.

"Elf, I thought you're helping me to get Callie like me back? How can I be mad at her that time? She'll be upset,"

"So, you choose to make me upset? How unreasonable you are? Scram."

"You're always upset. What's new with it?" He mumbles to himself as he stares at her position.

"Are you mocking on me, sh*thead?"

"No, I'm not." He stands straight and offers his right hand to her. It made Kinrue glare in his direction. "Come on, I'll buy you a strawberry milk drink as a compensation."

Both her eyes glimmers upon hearing the strawberry milk drink. Those reactions didn't escape from Raven's peripheral view and use the chance to grab her hand while still in dazed. They went back inside the school building and buy her a drink. Some students in the hallway keep looking at them, whispering to each other while some of his fan girls are in a distance giving a death glare that unconsciously brings chills to Kinrue. Instead of minding it, she focuses herself on drinking the strawberry milk drink.

Amidst of getting a something for himself, Raven notices her walk towards the cemented rail and looks outside with glimmering eyes. From the second floor of the school building where they are now, they can see the view of the outdoor court. There're many people cheering inside. Most of them are supporters of men's basketball team, especially Lorcan, their Captain, who has a lot of charisma and unique skills.

Raven shrug his head and takes out the orange juice he bought before walking beside Kinrue, whose eyes only fixated on the same man. Another sigh escape from his mouth as he stares towards Lorcan. He's wearing their team basketball uniform and a black sweatband. The loud cheers continue as he shoots another 3 points while running back to the other side of the court. As he wipes his sweat on the forehead, Kinrue giggled, almost shout in the hallway out of excitement, but it made Raven startled. He got choked from drinking the juice.

She didn't notice what she have done to him and continue giggling over the little moves Lorcan made. Contrast to it, Raven glared at her while crashing into the box of orange juice in frustration before wiping his mouth with his blazer sleeves.

"Go! Go, Lorcan, take another three point shoot." Kinrue shout raising her right fist hand. "Go! Go, Lorcan, take another win. Lorcan, you're the best!!"

"Argh! I think my eyes and ears stink. It hurts." Raven said in a sarcastic tone. It made Kinrue glare back at him.

"What did you say, sh*thead?"

"I said you're annoying and pitiful, hopeless romantic."

"You..."

Kinrue's about to hit him on his arm, but someone stops her hand from the back. She looks behind with confusion, but saw Callie Leroux in her stern face. They stare for a few seconds before Callie's face change to an innocent one, giving a pleasant, angel-like smile. She brushed off her hands and take a step back without breaking the glare.

"You took so long to come back Raven, the coach is searching for you." Callie said, clinging to his arm. "You said you just need to answer your phone, but I didn't expect to see you with someone playing around."

Callie looks towards Kinrue from head to toe before she tightened the grip on Raven's arm. A chuckle escape from Kinrue's mouth that turns to a laugh. It resounds in the hallway. Even the other students can't help but look in their direction with confusion.

After a few seconds, she wipes the tears on right eye as her laugh vanishes and turns to a serious, death glare. She takes a step forward towards Callie, raising her right hand in a form of hitting someone. It startles Raven, who seems confused by her sudden change of attitude. He's about to stop her hand, but she gives a playful grin and looks behind them, waving her hand as if calling the attention of someone.

"Hey, Ashley, Camie! I'm here." She shouted towards the two women walking across of her direction.

"Whoa! At last, you show yourself Rue." Camie said, running in her way.

She taps Callie's shoulder using her other hand and gives a smirk before looking at Raven's position, who's still wary of her next move. Another laugh escape her mouth while taking off her hands.

"Don't worry too much, I'm such in a sudden good mood, so you better give me a reward next time." She smiles from ear to ear while looking at her friends. "I'll be a good girl, sh*thead! Take your f*cking sweet time together."

After saying those words, she run towards her friends. She expects to receive a warm hug, but both of them hit her head while scolding her for hiding.

On the opposite way, Raven, who's still looking in their direction, gives a brief chuckle that made Callie notice it. She looks back and forth between the two as her face turns to grim.

"What's with you two?" She asked in a stern voice.

He flinch on her question, but composed himself and give her a genuine smile. "Let's go back to the gym. Coach is waiting for us."

Even though she can't get his answer, she didn't ask anymore and follow him back to the volleyball indoor gym.

After class hour, Kinrue and her friends are walking towards the school main gate with exhausted face and heavy steps. In the last hour of their lesson, the history teacher caught them using their phone. They didn't notice her presence and continue to play on their phone midst of the grim atmosphere around. In the end, they got called out to the disciplinary office and punished them by sorting out the books inside the library and confiscating their phones.

The memories of those terrible scenes made them sigh in disbelief, but in the middle of walking, Kinrue sighted someone waiting in the main gate. Her eyes glistening like a diamond and it seems her face got refreshed. Without thinking twice, her feet move on its own to run towards the direction of the man standing, talking and smiling from ear to ear to someone. Camie and Ashley called out her name in confusion, but both eyes widened when they saw Renkai Picozzi waving his left hand at her.

"I told you not to come here. Why did you come?" Kinrue asked, both eyes still fixated on him.

"So? The rumor going around is true?" The familiar voice from their side made her flinch. "It looks like the two of you got closer for less than a month."

She turned to their side and saw Callie and Raven. Her smile vanished before she can talk.

"Kinrue, why do you always run somewhere without telling us? You really have a terrible habit." Ashley said, clinging to her arms.

Behind them, Camie still seems confused about the situation and she can't help but look back and forth between Kinrue's side and Callie's side. Amidst of analyzing the situation, she notices the seriousness on Kinrue, but she looks away and turns to their side with a bright smile.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to run away without saying something. I got excited by myself when I saw Renren here."

"R-Renren?!" the four, including Raven and Callie, said in unison.

"She decided it alone, but there's nothing weird on calling me Renren. Besides I kind of like it." Renkai explained, scratching the back of his head. "Anyway, we have a plan to eat together. Do you want to come? Kinrue's friend can come too."

"W-well, thanks for the invitation, but we're going to decline it. I have a part-time job today and Ashley has a family gathering. You can bring Rue." Camie pushes her in Renkai's direction and gives a playful grin.

"Take care of our KinKin, my prince. Bring her home safe. We'll go ahead." Ashley waves her hand to them as they continue to walk on the other side of the road.

"H-hey, how can you leave me? And who's KinKin? Come back here, you idiots!" Kinrue's about to run after them, but Renkai wraps his arm around her shoulder, giving a genuine smile.

"You should relax, KinKin."

Her right eyebrow raises upon hearing the unexpected word, but the thing that annoys her so much is Raven, who's trying hard not to laugh behind Callie.

"Tsk. Let's eat. I'm frustrated." She said and walk ahead of them.
