episode eleven: saturday morning

It's the weekend.

Anna and Bea are sleeping late into the morning.

The time is 11:15 am.

Mrs. Pudgetter is ready to go out as she does every Saturday morning.

"Anna, Bea, I'm going out to the groceries store," Mrs. Pudgetter says, and she leaves the house.

The morning is cold and breezy.

Bea is the first to wake, she steps out of her bed and walks to the wardrobe, she takes a house robe out of the closet and wears it.

Almost like a sleepwalk, Bea walks down the stairs.

In the kitchen, she opens the fridge and brings out a bottle of milk.

She pours the milk into a glass and sits at the kitchen table.

Bea sips the milk and looks out the kitchen window across the street at the back of the house, that is, 'Tinsel street'.

Bea and Anna's house is in-between Bromsburry drive, and Tinsel street.

Not too long Bea looks on, she sees through the window, Cody walking by across the street.

"Cody!"

Bea shouts from the kitchen, not like she thought Cody would hear her from inside, but she still called out anyway.

She hurries to the kitchen door and opens the door, and calls out to Cody yet again.

"Cody, Cody," Bea yells from the kitchen doorway, she's still in her house robe.

Cody is walking down Tinsel street when he hears Bea call out from behind.

Cody turns and waves at Bea standing by the kitchen door.

He is standing about ten meters away, he mutters a few words. but passing cars and trucks did not let Bea hear what he says.

Bea waves at Cody, but soon Cody is gone down the road.

Bea goes back into the kitchen, looking exasperated.

Anna walks into the kitchen.

"I heard you yelling 'Cody, Cody', are you going insane," Anna says, she's wearing her pajamas.

Bea walks in and sits at the kitchen table.

"What's with you and this 'Cody'," Anna asks.

Bea keeps mute, she sips on her glass of milk.

Anna goes over to the fridge and brings out a box of cookies.

She sits at the kitchen table, takes Bea's glass of milk, and begins to sip on it.

Bea looks on with disdain, she snatches the box of cookies from the tabletop, opens it, and takes a cookie.

Anna sips on the milk, peering at Bea from the top of the glass.

"You like him...that much," Anna asks Bea, but Bea pays her no mind, nibbling on the cookie.

"Or you just want to fuck him," Anna says.

Bea looks sharply at Anna and scuffs.

"Wait, wait, wait, are you still a virgin Bea," Anna mocks Bea with a sarcastic tone. "You're still a virgin, haha!"

"You want to tell me you haven't had that pleasure of a big..."

"Hello, who's home here," a voice calls out from outside, behind the kitchen door.

It's the milkman.

"It's the milkman," Anna says, as the voice startles her.

"Who's going to get this," the milkman says from right outside of the door.

"Bea you get it, you're closer to the door," Anna says to Bea.

Bea for a moment appears nonchalant, then she walks over to the kitchen back door, she opens the door, and a hand extends a box of bottles of milk.

Bea walks into the kitchen with the box of bottles of milk.

"Are there any empty bottles," the man's voice rings out from outside.

"Are there any empty bottles," Anna asks Bea.

Bea walks over to the fridge, she keeps the bottles inside the fridge.

"Are there," Anna asks again.

Bea pays her no mind.

She opens a cupboard above and brings out a glass and keeps it on the kitchen pavement, Bea reaches inside the fridge, she brings out a half-filled milk bottle, she pours the milk into the glass, the remaining she gulps down in a glug.

She puts the empty bottle into the box and opens the left cupboard.

She begins to fill the case with the other empty glass bottles.

"Oh, that's where mum keeps them," Anna says. "Hold on a minute, she's coming!"

Bea carries the box of milk outside, she comes back in and sits at the kitchen table.

Anna is sitting right in front of Bea.

"I don't want to say anything to you, Anna," Bea says, she opens the box of cookies and takes another cookie.

"And why's that," Anna says.

"Because you dozed off last night instead of telling me what to do," Bea says.

"Oh that," Anna says. "Okay, what do you want me to do for you, huh?"

"Put Zachess off my back, I don't like her" Bea retorts.

"Okay," Anna says.

Bea keeps mute.

"It's that all...what about Cody," Anna says.

"What about him," Bea says.

"Umm, I thought you would want me to get Zachess off his back too," Anna says, with a bit of a chuckle.

"What does that mean," Bea says.

"Well 'cause you know, he's doing Zachess too," Anna says, making a facial remark to mean something is up between Zachess and Cody.

Bea keeps mute for a minute.

"But I thought Zachess likes only girls like me," Bea says, she bites the cookie in a break-bite, and it snaps.

"Keep thinking, you're always thinking," Anna scoffs at Bea. "Hello, Zachess is a girl, girls have vaginas remember, and it fits with penises, and I think your Cody has one!"

Bea bows her head for a moment, then breaks into a cry.

She cries for a while.

Anna feels empathy for her and walks to the other side of the table where Bea sits.

Anna holds Bea by the shoulder.

"It's okay sister, I will do my best to put an end to this okay," she says, holding Bea by the shoulders, Bea still cries.

"Okay I will start tonight to make it good for you, are you coming to Tommy's party tonight," Anna speaks into Bea's ears like a snuggle.

"Yes," Bea replies amidst nose scuffles and a cracked voice.

"Then all our problems are solved," Anna says, and she exhibits excitement, by raising her hands.

"How," Bea asks.

"I will get you a man tonight, not Cody, not Jerry, but a boy that I know you will like, hmm...how does that sound," Anna says excitedly.

Bea looks up at Anna and smiles.

"Thank you sister," she says.

"Now let's go see the best dress for you to where huh," Anna says and tickles Bea.

Bea startles by her tickle, the two girls giggle and chuckle, they hold hands and go up the stairs, leaving the cookie box on the table.

Bea comes back down the stairs, she quickly grabs the cookie box and races up the stairs once again.
