Chapter 67

Jack’s POV

When I arrived at the hospital, Fay was wheeled into the operating room, and I waited anxiously outside the ward, hands clasped and praying in silence.

After a long time, a doctor came out of the operating room, and the serious look on his face made me suspect something.

"Doctor, how is my wife?" I could not wait to ask.

He sighed, shook his head, and said, "We tried our best."

Like a bolt from the blue, I stopped for a long moment. I grabbed the doctor's hand and said, "No, doctor, you must be mistaken. My wife is Fay. Were you mistaken?"

"We can understand your mood, but the patient is really in no condition to return to heaven."

"No way, doctor, I beg you, save her."

The doctor's hurt eyes told me that Fay had really left the world.

In the ward, I lifted the white sheet and looked into Fay's pale face. I could not help it, I was on the edge of the bed and in pain.

I grabbed her cold hand, and at that moment I prayed to her.
