Chapter １７

Both of them frowned and can't even make eye contact with her. They saw Anika's dress and they tried not to laugh. Their madam is very strict and popular in fashion but to see her wearing an old-fashioned collection of dresses made them think if she went mad.

Ariana saw their expressions and she's clueless why they look like they saw a ghost. I crossed my eyebrows towards them.

"Why you're looking at me like that? Do, I have dirt in my face?" I asked them like an innocent girl.

They both scratch their neck. They seem bothered about something.

" No, ma'am. I guess, your dress is--" Denise can't finish it because she knew how her madam gets mad.

"What about my dress? You don't like it?" I asked her.

"No, it's nice! We love it! Right, Sebastian?" Denise turned her face to him.

Sebastian nods his head. " Yeah, shall we go?" he said.

"Let's go. We're late I guess!" I said and I hop in the passenger seat while Sebastian is in the driver's seat and Denise went beside him.

It's a thirty-minute driving until we reach the company. I told them that they will walk ahead of me. I don't want to be the center of attention and besides, I do not belong here. This is not my place and I want my life back to where I was.

"Good morning, ma'am!" I heard it everywhere as I passed every employee.

I want to puke when I feel nervous. I feel like there are some butterflies in my stomach. To keep my identity hidden from the people who knew Anika, I had to act just like her but when I think about the mission, I had to act kind and soft-hearted to gain points to Anika's soul.

My mind is too clouded by many thoughts where I haven't seen Mr. Mateo coming towards me. I accidentally bumped my head in from of his chest and I lost my balance. My legs turned like jelly and I almost stumbled on the floor but thanks to his full biceps, he saves me.

I was lying in his arms while my arms were enveloping his neck. Our eyes met and something triggers in my mind. I think I feel like I was in the arms of my husband Arem. I don't know what came into my head when I slowly close my eyes and pouted my lips waiting for a kiss. Until all of the sudden I feel a warm touch of his lips to mine. Everything stop the moment he kissed me. This is wrong I know but I feel attracted to him.

"Ms. Perez? Are you okay?" I heard his voice.

I quickly opened my eyes and I saw him looking at me. Did something happened or am I only visualizing it in my head. I began to stuttered.

"Ahm, did you--you did something-to--to me? Like kiss or ahm--never mind, excuse me!" I told him trying to cover my red face.

I saw him scratching his head.

"Wait!" Argus called me and I felt a strong hands grabbing my arms.

I push the enter button of the elevator before he stop me. It opened and I let go of his grip but he followed me inside. I feel freezing even I was wearing a coat.

"Yes, it's true. We just kiss!" Hearing those confession to him made me go crazy.

We really kissed. I feel like in cloud nine.

It was fast. Argus Mateo slowly lead me against the elevator wall. He pushed my back against it and his bCody almost touches mine. Only one inch away from us. He's too hot and handsome to resist. All I did is to close my eyes once again and waited for his gentle kiss. Our lips almost run out of saliva as he slammed his lips harshly and almost sucking my tongue like a lollipop.

I moan in that long kiss. It went deeper until we both catching our breath after we parted our lips together.

I feel embarrassed about what we just did. I only realize it when the elevator opens and many employees joined us going to the twentieth floor.

I feel bored staying every day in my cave house. I am praying that somebody will go lost and stumbled in my place. I am looking for a friend or company. Since the King captured some of my packs and keep them under the dungeon inside his palace, I'm always going on hunting alone without them. It's been one hundred years but I still haven't found my mate.

I hope she's wandering out there and we will accidentally bump from each other. I bit my lower lip while thinking about what will happen to us if our wolves mate with each other.

"Besame, Besame mucho!"  I was buzzing with myself as I am approaching my house.

I was too busy with my song when noticed that my door wasn't in his proper position. I always knew if an intruder came because I always closed it tightly but this time it was half-opened. I was wondering who came into my house without my permission.

I slowly pushed my door and to my surprise, I saw a woman, a beautiful young woman who was peacefully sleeping on my bed. She looks like she works at the palace. I looked around if she was alone and I am right.

" Who is this girl?" I whispered to myself.

Suddenly, as I was getting closer to her, I smelled strong energy coming from her soul. Maybe, I was only dreaming but nope, my eyes were opened wide. I pinch my face and it hurts. I was wide awake and in my normal state. I can't tell what I truly felt at this moment but her smell was very strong to resist.y wolf is telling me.

"I think I found my mate!" I mumbled as she began to stretch her body.

Finally, she appeared first after many years. I never thought that I can find her and here she is lying in front of me. I patiently waited until she finally opens her eyes.

"What--the---holy Christ! Who are you? Are you a rapist?" the beautiful maiden suspect me.

She rattled in front of me.

I quickly shook my hands at her. She's accusing me that I'm planning on taking advantage of her? I think I'm the victim here. I crossed my arms and crossed my brows. I made a deep sigh.

"Are you accusing me but you are throne who sneak in like a thief and sleep in my house!" My eyes glared at her seriously. I just want to scare her because she sounded like an arrogant brat.

She immediately gets off from my head and scratches her neck with a half-smile on her face. I guess she realizes what she did.

"Ahm, sorry! I don't know that someone is living here! It looks like an abandoned cave for me!" She said refusing her eyes to stare at me.

I chuckled.

"Now you know!" I replied.

She fixed herself and was about to walk out of my place but I quickly grab her arms. She turned around and clasp my hands from her arms.

"Let me go! Sorry for the inconvenience!" There was a sternness in her voice. I guess she's mad now.

I sneered at her. I loosened my grip on her arms and smiled at her.

"I'm just kidding! Are you scared?" I asked her and I saw that she got pissed at what I did.

"Moron!" She mocked me.

Let me see if you're still brave enough when you will encounter the wild animals in the forest. I have a plan.

As I accompanied her with my eyes, a bright idea came into my mind.

Anika as Ariana POV

I can't believe I found a guy like him. I guess he's another shadow of Karl. He's a liar and a traitor. I thought he will help me found the way out to this crazy place. He plans to sell me to the King but I'm still lucky, I found his dark agenda ahead of time, or else I'm now like a lowlife concubine in the palace. Over my dead body. I am Anika Perez in the modern world and no one lay hands on my bare skin even Jerick. I'm still a virgin when he left me. That bastard, I wish he's dead now.

As I was busy cursing Karl and Jerick, on my way to the wilderness, I heard a soft growl behind the bushes. I frowned and walked slowly to survey where the sounds came from. I felt a little uneasy especially when the dude I encountered a while ago warned me about some feral creatures strolling around the forest. I pressed my chest to ease the sudden sounds of my heartbeat abnormally. I can't use my transformation here but I had no choice. I recalled what the genie instructed us if someone dies during the mission, our souls won't be back to our original body and we will stay in the place we have forever. I won't allow it to happen.
