Chapter 6

Aurora's POV

Watching them walking away hand in hand, I sniggered, reached out, and patted Baldwin on the arm.

"You are really a destroyer. This is the first time that Cheney of our family has brought a woman back. You don't trust others. Maybe you don't believe Cheney's vision. This is the first time that Cheney has had the idea of getting married since Flora's accident. This is a good thing."

"Don't mention Flora. I also know why Cheney doesn't want to get married at the age of thirty. He is a long-term child. But old woman, don't get confused. Cheney is engaged to the Brennan family first."

"So what, Krista, the girl just said how good if your marriage is not arranged, why should my grandson go to the old routine of feudal society? Besides, you see, this girl still dares to call Cheney by her first name. What about the Zaniyah you chose for him? Mr. Cheney cries every day, and I don't feel comfortable listening."

"It's not like you don't know that those bad embryos left by the boss are eyeing our grandson one by one. His brother Steven has left, leaving only Afra as a daughter. We are at this age, and we must always help Cheney pave the way against the boss, don't you think so?"

"Cheney, he is not young. I believe he has the ability to arrange his future. I really don't like that Zaniyah. You see, Cheney and Krista, they look so talented, they match each other."

The old man sighed and looked at me and said, "Don't just look at their face. Do you know whose family that girl belongs to?"

"You don't know it, so you directly oppose it?"

"She was the stepsister Zaniyah's stepmother brought to the Brennan family."

"How do you know that?" I was kind of surprised. "You didn't... send someone to follow Cheney."

"What did I send someone to do with him? Brent called me this morning. He didn't understand why our Cheney was obviously engaged to Zaniyah, but he still provoked his stepdaughter. You said, sisters are flirting at the same time. What can the Fischer family do?"

Hearing this, my heart thumped.

Krista's POV

Cheney took me to his residence, the Jade Court, which is a two-yard building. Their front yard is a reception place, and the backyard is a two-story building with a living room and a study place on the first floor, and a bedroom. Although the courtyard looks antique from the outside, the interior decoration is quite modern, and the floor area is not generally large.

"This is where you live." I looked around.

"What? Is it ugly?"

"Of course not, it really can't be better, but you live alone in such a big place, how empty it is."

"It used to be, but in the future..." He looked at me. "It might be better to live with two people."

Two people? I reacted, "You mean, we are going to live here together in the future?"

"Do you think we'll stay in a hotel all the time when we're married?"

I looked at him and swallowed my saliva. Yes, I asked for marriage. I looked at him again and said, "Your grandfather seems to disapprove of our marriage. He doesn't even ask me about my personal situation. This matter won't be a barrier, will it?"

He said indifferently, "It's no wonder I'm his grandson. As I said, let you be cautious in front of my grandfather."

"I've been careful enough," I said, spreading out my palms. "My palms are all sweaty."

He laughed. "So, if my grandfather just doesn't agree, what are you going to do?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "What else can I do? I can't do it. I will tell them that I am pregnant."

"In order to marry me, you really did everything you could and even came up with a way to deceive people."

I smiled and said nothing. "It's not a lie. What if I'm pregnant?"

He leaned close to me and said, "Krista, you and I know very well in our hearts that there is no affection between you and me at all. You want to marry me so badly, not for people or money, then what are you doing? Don't mention it to me for the Brennan family. Through my understanding of you in the past two days, if you really want to fix the Brennan family, with your intelligence and wisdom, there are many ways. There is no reason to calculate me and lose your marriage."

"Are you complimenting me on my intelligence?"

"I mean you are scheming. Don't argue with me. Tell me your reasons."

I looked at him and said calmly, "You said it yourself, you won't ask me this question."

His eyes were cold, and he pinched my chin. "Our marriage, whether it's success or failure, depends on your attitude. If you have full sincerity, I will naturally help you, but if you can't even get the most basic sincerity, why should I let a scheming woman sleep beside me? Do you think I lack women?"

Cheney's POV

My threat to her didn't have any effect at all.

She pushed my hand away which was holding her chin, and her expression was full of unruly, "You really don't lack women, I admit it. From the beginning, you know that I married you for a purpose. We have a condition for marriage. I have completed this condition. You intend to marry, I am willing to marry, and the rest, there is nothing to say. If you want to go back on your word and say that you won't marry after all, then I can leave the Fischer's mansion now. My purpose doesn't have to be achieved by you alone. If you do not want to marry me, I will find someone else to help me. You are excellent, but in this world, I am unique." She said and turned to leave.

I picked her up horizontally, walked upstairs, entered the house, and threw her on the soft bed.

She got up in a hurry, and I jumped up, pressed her to death, and said, "You are really a little wildcat who doesn't know the rules. When you get into my bed, you dare to think about finding another man? Have I ever said that my woman can look at other men, even if she can't see half an eye?" I asked her seriously.

"Yes, we slept, but legally speaking, I am not your woman, Cheney. I am a free woman with personal freedom now, so you have no right to do this to me." She answered back.

"Then you can see if I am qualified." I said, controlling her hands and kissing her lips.

Krista's POV

I dodged with my head sideways, but I couldn't avoid him.

I bent my knees and tried to kick him somewhere hard, but he not only escaped easily, but also pressed me to death, and I couldn't move for half a minute.

I really hate this feeling of being forced, which made me feel sick from the bottom of my heart.

As his lips moved down, I shouted excitedly, "Cheney, you bastard, you said you wouldn't marry me. Since you won't marry me, don't touch me."

His evil voice sounded in my ear. "Did I also tell you that if you are not good enough, I don't mind marrying Zaniyah and letting you be my mistress for the rest of my life?"

"I won't be your mistress." I answered.

"As I said, you started the game, but when and how it ended, I have the final say. From the moment I calculated myself privately and jumped into my bed, you should be aware, believe it or not, if I don't let you go, no man will dare to pick up your plate." He said.

I clenched my fist and stared at him hard.

He pinched my cheek and said, "When you are well, see how I clean you up."

As I escaped, I sat up, gathered my clothes, and gave a glance to the man who was walking towards the bathroom.

When the bathroom door closed, I closed my eyes and my hands shook.

This man was really an uncontrollable wolf.

Am I overestimating myself a little?

Cheney's POV

I seldom sleep well with a woman in my arms. As soon as I woke up, I heard a knock at the door. I asked, "Who is it?"

"Young Master, grandfather and grandma invited you and Miss Krista to the Plum Court for dinner."

"We'll be there."

My eyes fell on Krista, who was still sitting by the bed, and said faintly, "My grandfather was a serious man. In fact, he only listens to his wife very much. When I talk to this level, you should know what you are going to do." I said.

Krista looked at me, got up and smiled. "Got it."

Looking at her with this kind of heart-free smile, I am unhappy to say, "Never laugh about me hypocritically in the future."

She then put away her smile and went to the Plum Court with me.

Krista's POV

When we entered the room, the servant had already prepared breakfast, and one of the men in his fifties stepped forward and respectfully said to Cheney, "Second young master."

Seeing this man, Cheney's face showed a rare gentleness. "Uncle Jacob, how have you been?"

"I'm fine, young master, you can rest assured."

"Well, if you need me to do anything, just call me and don't be polite to me."

The man nodded, looked at me and said, "Hello, Miss Krista."

"Hello." I also nodded to him.

Cheney said to me, "This is Uncle Jacob, who has served my grandfather for half of his life."

I know Cheney introduced Uncle Jacob this way to tell me that Uncle Jacob had a great position in the Fischer family, so I should not mess with him.

I nodded my head.

We sat down at the table together, while Uncle Jacob served with several servants.
