Chapter 10

He stepped forward very neatly, picked me up horizontally and brought me directly to bed.

"Krista, do you think I'm easy to deal with?"

I tried to suppress my nervousness. "I didn't think so."

"But you did." He said with a frenzy in his eyes.

"There are quite a few men around you. Lockie is your friend. What about Andrew? Don't tell me, he is also your friend. I haven't met any woman who is pandering with her friends in a restaurant."

"Six years ago, Andrew saved my mother and me. If it weren't for Andrew, my mother and I would have been forced to die by the families of the victims in the Cross River Bridge."

I looked at him. "Andrew is my great savior."

He has a rage in his eyes. "Do you like him?"

I shook my head. "I appreciate him."

He sneered. "Gratitude is no reason for a woman to pander with a man."

"We didn't pander, it was just because we haven't seen each other for many years. And then we suddenly met today, so I was a little excited."

"Do you think I will believe you?"

After saying that, he bowed his head and kissed me.

I have some rejection of doing it, especially in this reluctant situation.

I pushed him a few times, but I couldn't push him.

I thought of Brent's obscene face, gritting his teeth. "Cheney, don't do this."

"No? If it was Andrew who pinned you down, would you say the same thing?"

"I am not a prostitute," I am helpless. "I also have dignity. I will not use the body my parents gave me to do that kind of cheap thing."

Cheney paused and looked at me coldly.

Seeing that he stopped, I seized the opportunity and explained, "I know it's wrong to lie, but I lied because I firmly remembered the warning you gave me before. I was afraid you'd get mad when you knew I was having dinner with Andrew and would treat me like this, so I lied. Andrew and I are not in the kind of relationship that you think. If one day, I really want to have something indescribable with other men, there is only one possibility, that is, I have nothing to do with you. No matter how cheap and unbearable I am in your eyes and in front of you at the moment, it doesn't matter, because I am clean and my conscience is clean. Cheney, although I took the initiative to climb into your bed, I am not as casual as you think."

A few seconds after the confrontation, Cheney's cell phone suddenly rang.

He snorted coldly and turned over and came down from me. "You should be glad that this phone call saved you."

He got up from bed, took out his cell phone, and I breathed.

If Cheney were an unreasonable person, he wouldn't have stopped to listen to my explanation.

It seemed that I underestimated his character.

He picked up the phone, and the voice was softer than I'd ever heard before. "Well, hello baby, is it? I'm here, okay."

After eight words, he hung up the phone.

He looked back at me.

I was nervous for a few minutes and didn't dare to move, for fear that he would jump up in the next second.

He raised his eyebrows. "How did you meet him?"

I'm not going to hide or lie about it. After all, if he wants to know, he can easily find out.

"Andrew was also one of the families of the victims of the accident. Because the families of the victims took the lead in beating me and my mother, Andrew came forward and we met."

"Andrew is one of the family of the victims, but also come forward to help you? It seems that he knew that he could take advantage of you. Didn't you fall in love with him because of this?"

"If it is really so easy to fall in love with someone, there will not be so many single men and women in this world."

He snorted coldly, "Tidy up, there will be a guest in a while, who is a beautiful woman. I will introduce you to her."

I wondered. A beauty? The one that he called baby just now?

Less than ten minutes later, there was a knock at the door.

Cheney winked at me.

I went to the door and opened it. It was a beautiful woman standing at the door. Behind the beautiful woman, there were two bodyguards.

But... this beautiful woman is really not very big, and she is about six or seven years old.

The girl is pink and tender, wearing a white princess dress and two pigtails, which is very cute.

I crouched down and smiled sweetly at the girl.

"Hello, beautiful woman."

When the girl heard the word "beautiful woman", she smiled happily and said, "Auntie, you are a beautiful woman. You are really good-looking."

"We both are, a big beauty and a little beauty."

"This is the first time I've ever heard someone call themselves a beautiful woman." Cheney said in a lukewarm voice.

I looked up at him. "Little beauty said I was a beautiful woman, so can't I recognize myself?"

When I saw Cheney, the little girl jumped on him.

"Uncle, I miss you so much."

Cheney hugged her and rubbed the little girl's head. "I don't think so. You just called me earlier."

The girl pouted, "Grandpa said that I should not always bother you, because you are so busy at work."

"Uncle is very busy, but there is still time to see you."

The girl kissed Cheney on the cheek and looked at me again. "Auntie, are you really going to marry my second uncle?"

I nodded to her. "Yes, my name is Krista. What about you?"

"My name is Afra."

I held out my hand to her. "Nice to meet you, Afra."

After shaking hands, Afra looked at Cheney and said, "Uncle, can I stay here tonight and have dinner with you?"

"Your grandmother didn't have dinner prepared for you?"

"She did, but I don't want to go back. I want to have dinner with you today," Afra said and looked at me. "Can I? Auntie."

"Of course." I nodded my head.

I'd love it. There's someone Cheney cares about here, and he won't force me to do anything.

I smiled at Afra and asked, "Afra, what do you want to eat, I'll make it for you."

Cheney looked at me, somewhat surprised. "You can cook?"

"Yeah."

"Why did I not know that?"

"Because you didn't ask."

"Then do it, and I'll see how well you cook."

I curled my lips and said, "I need raw materials."

"Call the restaurant, ask them to send it to you, and do whatever you are good at."

I did, and a few minutes later, the manager of the restaurant came to deliver the ingredients to us in person.

After I entered the kitchen, I came out again and looked at Afra. "Afra, do you want to come with me? Cooking is actually quite interesting."

Afra was pleasantly surprised. "Can I?"

"Of course..."

"No," Cheney interrupted with a cold face. He rubbed Afra's head. "Go do your homework."

Afra looked disappointed.

Seeing this, I walked out directly, ignoring Cheney, taking Afra's hand and heading for the kitchen.

"Afra, you have to remember that whatever you want to do, just do it. As long as you don't break the law, you don't have to ask others for permission."

Cheney's POV

The big and small girls walked past me and went straight into the kitchen. Was this woman ignoring my words directly?

I walked to the kitchen door unhappy. When I was about to call Afra out again, I listened to Afra's happy way of talking. "Auntie, I used to cook with toys. In fact, I have wanted to cook a real meal for a long time. Thank you. I am so happy."

"Let's get started, then," Krista smiled as she helped her tie her apron and glanced at me at the door.

Looking at her provocative eyes, I was half angry.

Forget it, just be happy with Afra. I said in my mind. I then closed the kitchen door and turned back to the living room.

After a while when I sat down, her cell phone rang. I bent over the coffee table and picked up her mobile phone. When I saw the name of the caller ID, I turned a little dark.

Andrew …

I didn't answer the phone, and I didn't call Krista.

After a moment, the phone hung up automatically.

But then, a short message came from her mobile phone again. On the screen, only the first two lines of the text message can be seen.

I stared at these two lines and frowned. What is Krista asking Andrew to help her find?
