Chapter 11

"Krista, about what you asked me to help you find? I looked for it, but I couldn't find it. Don't worry, I'll find a way to help you find it."

I held the mobile phone in my left hand and rubbed it gently in my right finger.

What is she looking for?

Krista married me for an impure purpose, but what does this purpose have to do with Andrew?

I quietly put my mobile phone back on the coffee table, got up and went to the study room, and dialed the number of the secretary.

"Milo, send someone to keep an eye on it secretly to see if Andrew has been investigating anything recently. Remember, be careful not to be noticed by the other party."

After the call, I went back to the kitchen.

Krista is teaching Afra to roll dumpling skins.

Afra studied very seriously and seemed to really like doing it.

When the Sandwiches came out of the pot, Afra warmly invited me to taste the fruits of her labor.

I ate one, but I thought it wouldn't taste good. It's no worse than what's sold outside. It seems that Krista is not bragging.

Afra pointed to one of the ugly Sandwiches. "Uncle, I made this for you to eat."

I didn't abandon it at all. I ate her  Sandwiches directly and praised her.

"Uncle, can I ask you something?"

"Well, say it."

"I don't want to go back to the Fischer's mansion tonight. I want to sleep here and sleep with this aunt."

I stared at Afra's face for a moment, then at Krista.

The child never made such a request.

Krista shrugged at me calmly, bowed her head and ate Sandwiches as if nothing had happened.

I see, oh, this woman, she uses her mind well.

She thought she had won Afra, and even held the sword of a great samurai in her hand.

But her wishful thinking was wrong.

I refused with a cold face, "No way."

Afra pouted "Why."

I looked at Krista and the evil spirit smiled. "She is mine, of course she wants to sleep with me."

"Uncle, you are so stingy, hum!" Afra is very unhappy.

"But," I said in turn, "I can allow you to stay here tonight and play until you go back to bed."

Afra thought for a moment, looked at Krista again, and nodded reluctantly. "Well, you can't go back on your word, okay?"

After dinner, Krista went to the kitchen to clean up.

I asked Afra to do her homework first, and then she could play.

She pulled out books from her school bag and said, "Uncle, you really want to marry Aunt Krista, right?"

"What?"

"I like Aunt Krista, so you can marry her and don't let go of her."

"Why do you like her, just because she took you to the kitchen?"

Afra said like a little adult, "No, she is very easygoing and not strong at all."

"What else do you know about strength?"

"Of course, uncle, I am already a primary school student."

"Well, pupil, tell me how easy-going she is."

"There are so many people who have been close to you, right? But only Aunt Krista squats down when talking to me. I think my aunt respects me very much. Besides, the big lady who Grandma said she wanted to marry you last time was nice to me when you were only there. When you were away, she didn't care much about me. I'm not a kitten or puppy at home. Why should she make me happy when only you are around? I'm not comfortable with them at all, so you must marry Aunt Krista."

I listened to her words and couldn't help shaking my head and smiling faintly.

Krista came out of the kitchen and was warmly summoned by Afra.

Afra is doing her homework and invites Krista to accompany her.

Krista sits next to her, and if Afra has any questions she or she can't understand, she will ask her directly.

One teaches carefully and the other listens carefully.

I sat on the side, looking at this harmonious picture, and my heart inexplicably rose out of a touch of warmth.

This feeling is really a bit like a family of three, it's very warm.

Krista's POV

When Afra was sent downstairs, Cheney was taking a bath when I returned to my room.

I picked up my cell phone and wanted to watch the news.

I saw an unread short message, and after clicking on the content, I was somewhat lost.

After returning the message to the other party, I got up and walked to the balcony, and just breathed air for a while.

Cheney's POV

When I came out of the bathroom, I saw her standing alone by the fence on the balcony.

I walked over and pushed open the balcony door.

Krista looked back at me.

I asked, "What are you thinking?"

"Nothing." She shook her head. "Just taking a nice breath of the summer wind."

"Want a hair dryer?" I wanted to ask but did not do so.

She just doesn't want to share her thoughts with me.

It annoys me to think that Andrew knows her secret, but I don't.

However, I didn't ask her about the content in that short message.

After getting along for two days, I know this woman somewhat. Even if I ask, she won't answer.

"What does Brent want with you today?"

"Keep me away from you."

"Directly?"

"Or else?"

"Oh," I disdained to smile. "I've been to the Brennan family a few times, and they've treated you well. I thought you wanted to get back at them and just moan without illness. But now it seems that you really don't have a good position in that family. No wonder you hate it so much."

"Why did you say that?"

"Brent is the kind of person who will hide himself with a good heart in front of anyone, because he doesn't like to hear people say he is not good. But now, he directly asks you to stay away from me. Presumably, your behavior touched his bottom line this time, so he didn't care to protect his good face."

Krista dropped her eyes and smiled. "It seems that his disguise is not successful. Smart people can see through his little thoughts."

"It's not like he's being nice to your mother in disguise," I looked at Krista. "Don't you think?"

She fell silent.

I looked at her. "When I came out of the Fischer's mansion today, you said you had a way to deal with the Brennan family so that they wouldn't make a big deal because I was getting married to you, but now it seems that you can't even deal with Brent."

She was silent.

I raised my eyebrows. "I think it's better for me to handle this matter. However, if I help you settle your problem, you have to repay me."

She looked at me and said, "By what?"

"Hurry and raise your body."

"The Brennan family, I could take care of it." She opened her mouth before I pushed open the glass door.

I turned to see her. "Is it settled?"

"Hmm."

"How?"

"In my own way, it's just... I've been a wicked person, but you may need to come forward and be a good person, otherwise our marriage will eventually affect the relationship between the Fischer family and the Brennan family."

"I didn't even take the Brennan family seriously."

"But if the Fischer family and the Brennan family fall out because of me, I'm afraid Grandpa will put this account on my head, and... I think your cousin is very smart. He wanted to tear down your platform originally. At this time, don't you take the opportunity to fall in?"

Hearing her words, I leaned against the glass door with a cool smile and looked at her.

"What's the matter? What's wrong with what I said?" I asked but she did not reply.

"Before, I have always felt that women are too smart and will be annoying, but until today I discovered that women are smarter." I added.

The next day, when I came to the company, I asked my secretary to make an appointment with Brent.

As soon as Brent received the call, he came to keep the appointment.

Brent looked at me gently. "Cheney, I haven't seen you for some days. How are you?"

"Mr. Brent, everyone is very busy, so let's not waste each other's time, just open the skylight and tell the truth."

"Well, I wonder what Mr. Cheney wants to talk to me about?"

"It's very simple. I'm going to marry your second daughter, Krista. Talk about the dowry you want."
