Chapter 15

Krista's POV

Back to the Qiaojian No.3 Team, with Cheney at the back, the people in the office looked at me differently from before.

At this point, Kent has already left.

As I walked, I saw the man who had been following Kent before. I went to the man then sipped my lips and smiled. "I haven't asked your name yet. What is it?"

"I'm Mr. Kent's secretary, Darren. Why do you ask?"

I sneered, didn't make a sound, and turned to leave him.

I walked up to several people and said, "Excuse me, who is in charge of this project besides Kent?"

Two men stepped forward, and a man in his thirties pointed to the middle-aged man around him.

"This is our deputy project manager, Mr. Quincy."

Quincy looked at me with baffled eyes. "Something happened?"

When I turned to look at the man, he looked so familiar but I couldn't remember where I had seen him.

I nodded my head then I asked, "I'm going to participate in the Dragon Bridge project, but I don't know what I can do."

"What can you do? Have you done something before?”

"When I was involved in the project in the previous company, I was always in the engineering department."

Quincy looked down and continued to look at the drawings. "Then do what you are good at and go to the engineering department."

I nodded and turned to leave the conference room.

Okay, I immediately went to find the engineering department to report, and the people in the department accepted me very readily.

Someone shouted, "Yo, it's really rare. I have been working in our department for ten years, and finally a woman joined in. Miss, you will become our group assistant in the future."

A smile flashed through my face then I laughed softly. "The predecessors should be the peer of science. Please take more care of you in the future."

I just sat down and the man beside him commented, "If you need anything, just ask me. There are a group of rough masters here, who are not well taken care of and we take care of them."

"Hey, I can take care of myself. By the way, sir, Mr. Quincy looked very familiar. Has he been in any magazine?"

"Mr. Quincy has never been in magazines and news. Mr. Kent was always on it. How can he get out of the limelight?" He answered.

I asked again, "Has he been involved in any major projects before?"

"The Ring Mountain Road overpass project is so famous that it has won awards."

I smiled. "I may have mistaken him. Mr. Quincy has a good face."

"Yes, he's always been nice to the people below us." The man in front of me said with a smile. "By the way, let me introduce myself. I'm Otto."

"I'm Krista."

As soon as I introduced myself, someone next to me shouted, "I want to go to the construction site, who’s coming?"

"I'll go," Otto shouted, turning his back to me. "I can't talk to you any more. I'm busy here."

"Okay," I nodded, and sat a few minutes upright in my seat.

Quincy ... ...

I frowned. He just looked at me alienated, as if he didn't know me. That MoMo.

It's ridiculous.

Because I participated in the design of bridge drawings, I am very familiar with my work. In the afternoon, I worked overtime with everyone, and then I returned to the hotel after.

When he entered the door, Cheney had already returned.

As he saw me come back, he smiled at me. "You seemed busier than me. Come back to the old house with me later."

"Why are we going there so late?"

"Grandpa and Grandma have something to say."

Can't you say something on the phone if you have something to say? I condescend in my heart, but my mouth is readily agreed.

Grandma and Afra are my golden thighs, so we have to hold them firmly.

Cheney's POV

When we returned to the old house, Grandpa was in the study, and Grandma waited for us in the living room with Afra.

Seeing that we came back, Afra was very happy and ran over. "Uncle and aunt, why did you come back so late? I have been waiting for you for an hour."

I pointed to Krista. "Your aunt works overtime. Isn't she a busy person?"

Grandma sat on the sofa and looked at us with a smile. "Have you two eaten? If you haven’t, I'll let someone prepare for you."

Krista got up, took Afra's hand and said cleverly, "Grandma, don't bother yourself, we have eaten already." Krista and I took Afra to sit down on the sofa opposite to Grandma, then looked around and asked, "Don't you have something to say, where's my grandpa?"

"He is playing chess with himself in the study, just ignore him and relax yourselves.”

I crossed my legs. "Why did you want to call us back here?"

"This morning, I found something to show you. The 26th of this month will be a good day. Before ten o'clock in the morning, you two should get the certificate. It must be before ten o'clock. That is the best time, which indicates that you two can get together for a hundred years and have a baby early." Grandma looked at us and said kindly.

When the license date is fixed, Krista is pulled up by Afra and taken into her room.

On the sofa, Grandma watched them leave with a soft face and told me, "Afra likes Krista very much. She is a good girl. Take good care of this marriage. As long as you put your heart into it, this marriage will not be a mistake. There are some things in the past that can be kept in mind and remembered occasionally, but don't let it affect your future. The past is originally used to recall, in addition, there is no use, cherishing the people in front of you, the most important thing for you. Don't wait until the person in front of you becomes a memory again before you regret it, because what you have lost can't be returned, so life and feelings, and sometimes good feelings are more important than life, you know?”

I looked at my grandmother and meditated for a long time.

Krista accompanied Afra to feed the parrots for a while, and went to the study to play some chess games with Grandpa. Before leaving, Krista made an appointment with Grandpa to come back on weekends.

I didn't expect this woman to be able to do it. In just a few days, not only Grandma and Afra, but even my stuffy grandfather liked her very much.

Krista's POV

After working for several days, I was busy, and I couldn't return to the hotel until eight or nine o'clock every day.

Because it is related to the preparatory work in the early stage of the project, I have no time to take care of what to investigate.

On Thursday night, after working overtime, I was about to leave the company when I met Quincy in the elevator.

Just looking at him, I nodded to greet. "Good evening, Mr. Quincy." I told him but he was silent.

When the elevator came to the first floor, I should have gone down, but I hesitated and turned to look at him again. "Uncle Quincy, are you all right?”

Quincy looked at me and answered after a long silence, "Do you want to get off the elevator?"

I sipped my lips. "I want to go down, but I always feel that if I meet my old colleagues who have a good relationship with my father before, if I don't ask hello, some of them are sorry for my father's praise for you for so many years."

Quincy looked at me calmly. "I'm in a hurry."

I smiled and walked down the elevator.

When the elevator door was about to close, Quincy's hand pressed the door opening button. "Krista, I hope you will come to the company and enter this project, simply to increase your knowledge and experience, and other things, ask less and inquire less."

"I don't quite understand what you mean. I don't know what you mean." I stopped deliberately.

He didn't say anything more and let go of his hand. The elevator door closed slowly. I stood facing the elevator door for a minute, and my heart was so thin and cool.

On Friday, according to the agreed time, Cheney and I went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a marriage certificate.

I went in and took photos, and came out after receiving the certificate. It was already ten twenty. I looked at him and said, "Cheney, what would you like for lunch today? I'll treat you. Let's eat Thai food. I know a delicious restaurant."

Without saying anything, he started his car and left the Civil Affairs Bureau. The car stopped in front of a western restaurant that looked very classy.

I looked out and felt guilty. "It should be quite expensive here."

"Why are you taking back your words?"

I was busy waving my hand. "I don’t take back the words I already said. Even if after we eat and I become poor I will still gladly do it."

After sitting down, I had a bad feeling about this and I was even more confused when I took the menu to my hand.

It's all in French, so I can't understand the name of the dish, but the price behind it makes me tongue-tied.

Cheney calmly finished the meal, and I looked at the waiter with a distressed face and left with the menu.

Soon, the waiter began to serve the food one after another. I have a hunch that I'm really going bankrupt today.

At the end of the meal, the waiter served me a dessert alone.

When I was about to eat, Cheney said, "You should eat slowly."

I glanced at him and said nothing.

But when I took the second bite, I suddenly bit on something hard.

I frowned and took something out of my mouth. It turned out to be a shiny diamond ring.

He looked at me calmly. "It's for you."

I picked up a paper towel, wiped the ring clean, and calmly put it on my left ring finger.

It fits right on my finger.

In the spirit of not wasting the food, I still ate the cakes clean.

"Is there anything else in the back?"

"No, why, you haven't had enough? I can give you some more." He looked at me.

"No, no, no," I waved my hand. "I'm so full. Let's leave now. I have to go back to the company."

Cheney looks at the waiter. "Check out."

The waiter said directly, "That's 77,000."

Are you kidding me? This is a high price meal!

Looking at Cheney smiling across the street, I had an idea in my mind.

I carried my bag to my shoulder and watched him smile. "Please go ahead now. I'll go to the bathroom to fix my makeup. I'll see you at the restaurant door later."

AfterI said that, I stood up and went to the direction of the rest room.
