chapter 63 Bull King

"Senior! Could I accompany you on your journey?" The moment these words parted her mouth she suddenly realized how big of a mistake she had just made by outrightly declaring this to her senior instead of politely asking him about it.

Zhang Jian on the other-hand felt pity for the girl and suddenly felt bad about himself for always asking her to get some housework done while not giving her enough breaks or fun activities to keep herself entertained. He made a mental note to keep this in mind from now on.

He replied to her, "Yes, yes you can accompany me, but make sure you hurry up and get ready quick."

Once he allowed her to join him, her face changed into a sulking expression, which made Zhang wonder how odd the girls of the ancient time were. Whether you said yes, or no didn't matter since they'd always be disappointed.

But Wang Yan was actually disappointed in herself since senior's tone reflected, he must have been annoyed with her since she wanted to accompany him. She didn't waste any more time of his and decided to be quick on her feet.

Before leaving the house, Zhang Jian asked Wu Ming to provide him with variety of different meats from now on as the ones they've been having nowadays is too homogenous. Wu Ming, after having heard this felt as if he had disappointed his master so he promised himself to be better the next time. He also made a mental note about the different kinds of meat he'll obtain, from where and how.

The plan he had was somewhat dangerous but if he wanted himself to succeed today, he needed a weapon powerful enough to take down dangerous foes. Something that'd allow him to go one on one, on an enemy whose level would be much higher than his and for this exact purpose he had saved some of Blackfish's golden bones.

Integrating the bones of a demon into a weapon isn't an easy task, but Wu Ming can handle it as if he's a professional. To be fair he's guilty of calling himself a "pro" at channeling his qi to merge objects together. The reason why most people considered it to be a really hard task was because it was nearly impossible to channel your qi in a steady flow. Mostly people would channel it in short chunks that would sometimes explode, but that had never been a problem for him. The reason? He himself had no idea why his qi was so stable even outside of his body. All he had to do was focus and in no time, he'd have a powerful yet beautiful dagger.

He went into his hut, and took the bones he had collected from underneath his straw bed. Then he took them out of his leather pouch, and untied the knots he had formed on them using his hair. The reason why he had used this technique was to prevent the qi that resided in the bones to escape, and leaving a trail which would be easily trackable by several different kinds of demons.

Now holding an almost priceless dagger in one hand and the bones in the other, he started channeling his qi into them. The dagger started to glow soon enough, and so did the bone, they were ready to be merged together.

Carefully he placed the bone onto the hilt of the dagger, and pressed them against each other, still channeling his qi into them.

"Steady breaths," he whispered to himself, "Almost done."

And with that, he now had a powerful golden dagger made up the golden bones of The Black Fish. A weapon worthy enough to annihilate demons twice his level.

Now, as for the rest of his plan, he required a team. Despite his hate and constant urge to stab The Black Phoenix he realized how him and his vassals were his only choice at the moment.

"Phoenix, I have a plan to collect the meat that master ordered me to, but it's a dangerous one."

The Black Phoenix, who probably never helped anyone looked at Wu Ming with an expression of amusement alongside disgust. This was the look that Wu Ming absolutely hated, as it made him feel so small.

"So, you need my help?" Asked The Black Phoenix mischievously

'I hate that mutt's tone. He might be on the ascension stage but it doesn't mean I'll ever respect him' He thought to himself and replied to The Phoenix saying, "Yes, I need your help."

/////////////////////////////////

Wu Ming had one goal that he needed to achieve today, and it wasn't an easy one. He had to collect the meat for his master and prove to him that he was worthy. That he was strong enough to pass any test that the master had for him, which was exactly why he was headed towards none other than the demon world.

There resided the bull demon king there, who had become an immortal eon ago but since he broke the accords of the immortal world, he had been banished from it. Since then, he had come to the demon world to dominate and spread terror throughout it. Nobody cared to cross paths with him since the ones that would, wouldn't be found ever again which meant his power and control was spread way beyond the demon world alone.

Before leaving the hut, Wu Ming had explained to the Black Phoenix its vassals what exactly his goal was for today.

"You must've lost your mind for thinking you can go up against the bull demon king. Cultivators of your level can barely go up against demons half of his level." And the Phoenix was right, but none of them had the weapon Wu Ming possessed. A golden dagger made out of the bones of the black fish. The qi that his weapon possessed reflected properties of soul energy thus, it was possible that some part of the black fish's soul had been integrated into the dagger.

When the Black Phoenix noticed the dagger tucked onto Wu Ming's belt, he was quite surprised since the qi radiating from it was surely unignorable.

Now, they had travelled for miles, and had finally reached the demon world. Wu Ming was glad since he had enough of the vassals' nonstop whining. They simply couldn't shut up about how they were so incredibly tired, despite the fact that they weren't the only ones travelling here. Wu Ming's feet also hurt, and he had formed almost 10 blisters on the sole of his foot but he didn't announce that to anyone.

"Ungrateful fucks." He murmured to himself

The Black Phoenix heard him say something so he asked, "What was that?"

"Nothing, nothing my feet hurt that's all."

"Ah, but remember our first strategy is supposed to be negotiating with him. We cannot risk an all-out war, since if things go south none of us are going to survive." He stared at Wu Ming's face for a while noticing his slightly shocked expressions.

The reason why Wu Ming was surprised, was because how the Phoenix also wanted them to succeed, which meant after all he truly was loyal to the master. Whether his loyalty rose from fear or respect, he couldn't tell.

In the recent years, the demon world had become unusually foggy, which greatly affected their visibility. This was greatly used by the demons of the demon world to launch ambush attacks on anyone travelling in the demon world uninvited. So, when they crossed the boundary, the Phoenix ordered its vassals to fly ahead and scout the area.

"Remember, we need to negotiate first." The Black Phoenix repeated the same thing for around the hundredth time which annoyed Wu Ming so much that he wished his master would eat the Black Phoenix alive. He had to cut his trail of hateful thoughts when the vassals returned (rather quick) with news that they had spotted the bull demon kind in a corner nearby of the demon world, hiding.

Quickly, they made their way towards the bull king to get this matter dealt with, since staying for too long in the demon world could have consequences on a person's mental health.
